Snow.
Thats all Simi could see as she stared out the glass of the front windshield and cursed her luck. The fluffy white crap drifted down in a steady blanket of ice and was making the road slippery as hell. Sooner rather than later, she was going to have to pull her vehicle over before she ended up dead in a road ditch because she hit a patch of black ice and lost control.
Sighing heavily, the blond curled her fingers tightly around the steering wheel as the back end fish tailed a bit. God, if it wasn't for bad luck... She really wouldn't have any luck at all. Didn't it just figure that the moment she decided that home was getting a bit to claustrophobic and hit the road to Karlies house... A freak snow storm would break out and she'd be caught halfway between home and the warmth of her cousin's place. Not only that but her engine light had suddenly come on a few miles back and a knock could be heard coming from the motor.
Never a good thing.
She could practically hear Bastian scolding her for not paying better attention to it. No doubt, he'd have known something was wrong long before the knock became like a death rattle. That thought just made her sigh heavier. Everything in her life seemed to be conspiring against her and she needed a vacation away from the hovering and lecturing that she'd gotten since coming home from college. Reality just didn't seem to be cutting her any breaks, though.
Made her wonder what god or goddess she'd pissed off in a former life.
Just as that thought crossed her mind, the lights of a town appeared through the icy haze. Thank GOD! Simi thought to herself as she slowed down even more to coast into its haven. A glance at the dashboard clock revealed that it was only about 4:30 in the afternoon so there might be yet time to find a garage and get her car looked at. Then, with any luck, she could check into a hotel, call her cousin to let her know where she was and then maybe relax with a movie on cable.
Thinking it sounded like a rational plan, she pulled into a likely looking gas station and was just about to head inside to ask about mechanics when she realized that the next place over had a double set of garage doors and a flashing neon sign that said “Mechanic on Duty”. Blowing out a sigh of relief, she went inside, grabbed some hot chocolate and then jumped in the challenger to pull it around to the other shop.
Just in time too because as soon as she put it in park, the engine died and wouldn't start again.
Stupid piece of classic muscle. If it wasn't the last gift from her father before he died, she'd have been tempted to sell it and get something newer.
Shaking her head and hoping the guy in this garage could fix whatever was wrong, the slender blond climbed from the drivers seat and pulled her coat up further around her face. Jogging to the front door, she entered to find the reception area empty and no sign of life.
Frowning a bit, she waited for a few moments before easing open the back door and peeking out into the garage itself. A man with a his back towards her was leaning into a vehicle and Simi couldn't help but gaze at the well rounded backside with appreciation. Biting her lower lip, she ogled him a bit before realizing what she as doing and tapping lightly on the doorway.
“Um.... Hello?? “ she called out before tilting her head and waiting for a reply.

How long had it been?
Ryder took a long pull off the cigarette between his lips and stood upright, one hand on the raised hood of the piece of shit he was working on and his grey-blue eyes staring off into the distance. The days seemed to merge together lately, and the pages on that calendar on the opposite wall…the one with the half-dressed babe leaned over a muscle car; seemed to fall off and flutter away like the brown leaves from the trees that lined the road. He didn’t know how long it had been since he’d left home. Hell…he didn’t even know what day of the week it was anymore. He just kept his head down and kept busy hoping to god that one day he might wake up and have no memory of the past, or saint willing, he wouldn’t wake up at all.
The past few nights he’d traded sleep for closing down the local bars and he was feeling the effects of it as his eyes slid closed and he had to clutch the raised hood a little tighter to keep from swaying sideways. Not like he would have slept much if he’d stayed home anyway…the nightmares of a crying baby and the faceless vampire tearing him limb from limb had begun about a week and a half ago. He wondered if it was because trying to remember Christine’s smiling face without having to pull out the picture in his wallet was getting tougher and tougher.
The realization that she was fading from the world slowly but surely sent a wave of angry heat through his veins. How could he forget that smile? He cursed and leaned back down to adjust a valve in the engine as the realization hit him full force. Because she was gone…that’s why.
A sigh escaped him as he pushed the searing pain back down were it belonged and focused instead on the machinery that was right in front of his face.
The sound of a chirpy voice from the door drew a wince from him, and he rose too quickly, bashing the top of his head on the inside curve. He let out a string of curses as he rubbed at the growing knot on his cranium with one hand, slamming it shut with the other. Damn it, he was sure he’d flipped off the light that told customers he was on-duty…but his mind was no where near sound lately.
Stormy eyes were locked on the ground as he grabbed an oily rag and wiped at the black smudges on his hands. The cigarette was still perched on the corner of his mouth and he drew in another drag, blowing the smoke out through his nose. It wasn’t that he particularly liked the taste of it, but he’d picked up the habit shortly after he left home…maybe because he knew it was one sure fire way to put himself in an early grave.
Finally he looked up, and his mouth with slack in surprise at the familiar blonde frame that stood before him. He blinked and plucked the cancer stick from his lips and let it drop, crushing the bright orange cherry out with the toe of his boot.
“Simone Blair…what the hell are you doing here?” He asked incredulously, automatically thinking she’d been sent here by someone in his family, or extended family.

Well, the world was just to damned small of a place sometimes wasnt it? Simi knew the moment she heard that voice swearing that this was going to be .... awkward... to say the least. It seemed no matter where a girl went, she was bumping into one familiar face or another. Especially with their sort of people scattered all around the country and most of them were connected through the grapevine someway, somehow.
This particular one, however, she definitely HADN'T been looking for. In fact, Ryder Winchester was the LAST person on the face of the earth she'd been expecting and by the look on his face..... He wasn't any to happy to be seeing her.
Which was just to damned bad for him. She'd never been the kind to duck and run so he was just going to have to deal.
Which brought her back to the current predicament and the fact she'd just been caught ogling a guy she'd once thought had cooties! Talk about AWKWARD. Yeah, if luck was a lady then there was no doubt she was about as straight as an arrow because she had certainly deserted her!
Shrugging off that thought, Simi tilted her head and let her gaze run over the young man still staring at her like she was a monster with two heads or something. A grin spread over her lips as she bounced forward and wrinkled her nose at the smell of the cigarette tobacco.
"HEYYYYYYYY RYDER!! Fancy meeting you in a place like this!" she chirped cheerfully, ignoring the fact that she'd just caused him a good sized goose egg. "Is this where you've been hiding yourself? I heard you were out on your own but I figured you were soaking up the waves in someplace warmer than this.... I know I would be if I had the chance!"
Ambling closer, she fluffed out her hair and batted it from her eyes. Her gaze was candid as she eyed the car and then looked back at his haggard, worn frame. Worry flickered for a moment before it was banked behind a impish grin.
"Are you the mechanic on duty?? Maybe my luck is changing a bit after all... I was on my way to see my cousin when the storm broke out and then my engine started acting up. The red light came on about 20 miles out but I managed to get to town and pull in here before it clinked and died completely. Do you think maybe you could..... Take a look at it for me? I mean, if you have a moment?? If you do.... I would be more than happy to buy you a drink and dinner while you tell me why you look like you've seen a ghost later!"
As she waited for his response, she glanced down and took in the cigarette butt he'd ground out. Tsking, she eyed it and then him.
"And maybe why the hell your trying to kill yourself with those stinky things? Ugh.... I think hunting is even safer than those things!" she teased."I swear... I remember the time Jake and Bastien thought it made them look cool with one dangling from their lips and they accidentally set the barn on fire...."
Shaking her head at the memory, Simi grinned and then beamed at him again. Her expression was merry but her eyes were sharp.
"And before you ask.... No, I didn't know you were here, Ryder..... So you can get that hunted look off your face. Your secrets your own...."

Ryder was still rubbing the knot on the top of his head when Simi came toward him; all sunshine and smiles and that optimistic air that he remembered from their days at school and the afternoons she’d come over to hang out with Chey at the Winchester abode. The reverie drew a frown across his lips and he let the hand fall from his goose egg to rub wearily across his mouth; hating himself for not having spoken to his baby sister in so long. In his mind’s eye he could see her as a little girl, waiting by the window for them to come back from the hunt with dad like she did when they were kids. The hunter inhaled deeply and blew it out, pushing that ache in his chest down with the other aches. Dwelling on it would do no good. He needed this…to be alone. It wouldn’t do any good to call her when the first thing she would do was criticize him for blaming Ben and demand him to come home. He wasn’t ready to do either one. He shrugged and returned his glue-gray gaze to the bubbly blonde before him, tugging the rag out of the front pocket of his jeans to rub the nonexistent black grease from his palms while shaking his head. “Yeah, well…I haven’t been here long and those rays might be in the near future.” Ryder answered her with a shrug and tossed the rag aside. “I’m not planning on staying here.” Especially not now, since there was no doubt in his mind as soon as Simi was out of earshot she’d probably call his family to let them know where he was…He had dropped his gaze to the cold concrete floor for a split second, so he had failed to notice her worried gaze. When his eyes lifted again, that same easy-going grin was in place on her pretty face. “I don’t mind taking a look at it.” He answered a little bit stiffly, inwardly wishing that her presence wasn’t making it harder not to think about home, but at the same time a bit reassured by it. She always did have a way of making the room brighter… warmer. He cleared his throat and continued, pulling the pack of smokes from his jeans. “I heard that storm is a beast anyway. You might need to call that cousin of yours and tell her you’ll have to say in town for the night. I can’t see anybody driving through that anytime soon.”At this he narrowed his eyes and glanced out the window, completely covered by the thick white stuff. Her comment about seeing a ghost was disregarded for the moment. No way he wanted to explain that seeing her had caused a torrent of emotions to rain down on him. “And I know a place I can take you up on that dinner. It’s just down the block, and attached to the motel where I stay…”Fuck. Had he just said that out loud?Ryder paused in tapping a cancer stick out of the pack when Simi teased him about being more detrimental than hunting and then reminded him of an incident the boys had all had a good laugh about. He pushed the cigarette back in the pack and shoved it into his rear pocket, offering her an almost smile when she confessed she wasn’t here to bust him. “Thanks Simi.” His expression was soft and his voice was vulnerable, and the hunter let down the guard he had put up when she’d appeared. “I just need some time. My family doesn’t really get it. I’ll…I’ll call them once I’ve sorted everything out.” With that he cocked his head to the side, gesturing to the outer garage. “Come on…let’s take a look at your ride.”Leading the way out, he let out a low whistle of appreciation at the sight of the Classic Muscle. The car was every little boy’s wish and every man’s wet dream, and it was with a heavy respect that he popped the hood and went around to lean down under it. “So…what’s been going on with you Simi? How’s the family?” Ryder asked and cast a look at her while tightening up a valve on the engine.

They said God worked in mysterious ways.
Simi wasn't a real religious person but she did believe their where forces working beyond anything they could see or touch. She'd also come to realize that things happened for a purpose even when they didn't seem to have any rhyme or reason. That was just the way the universe worked and far be it from her to try to figure out the whys or hows. The fact that she was now standing in this garage talking to Ryder in some tiny little hick town only brought all those conclusions home.
What were the chances that her car would break down in a freak blizzard in the middle of a Texas only to throw her in with the missing Winchester brother? The chances were probably higher of her winning the lottery than ever having this happen again! Hell, maybe that was the next thing that would happen at the rate these things kept turning up! Maybe she should go buy a ticket!
“That sounds like a plan... I don't think I'm going to be going anywhere anyways with the tick my engine was making when I pulled in here. Bastian usually takes care of this all for me but ….” she confided back with a sunny grin. “I could use something warm and a decent bed if you can assure me there are no bed bugs that will bite.”
Grinning impishly, Simi pulled her coat up closer around her face as she followed him outside into the now lightening snow. His appreciative whistle made her laugh and drew her attention back to the man himself as he went towards the vehicle. Her gaze took in his wiry frame and she noted that he seemed leaner than the last time she'd seen him. When had that been? At least four years ago. His features held a harshness about them that matched the shadows she saw flickering behind those beautiful eyes. No doubt from the tragedy that he'd suffered awhile back. She'd heard enough to know that it had been pretty awful and had caused a rift in an otherwise tight family.
It seemed shit happened to good people all over and each one of them had to learn to deal with it in their own way. In fact, it seemed to knock on families like theirs with unending tenacity. Whatever the case might be...if Ryder said he wanted time.. Then who was she to blow the whistle on him? It wasn't as if she wasn't doing the same damned thing by avoiding her own family. She was sure Bastian would eventually catch up with her but by then... By then, hopefully, she'd have her own troubles under control.
That didn't mean, however, she wasn't going to see that Ryder had a decent meal and try to get some loosen up some of that haunted intensity she saw lurking in the way he held himself. After all, she wasn't known as Bubbles for nothing now was she?
“Eh... You know how family is.... Bastian's following in Dad's footsteps and Mom.. Well, Mom spends most of her time running the club and handling the other family business with Uncle Nick...” she drawled leaning on the bumper to watch him look at the engine. “Me.. I just graduated from Texas A&M before Christmas. I went home for the holidays but got that footloose bug.... I was just driving up to see Karlie for a few days before deciding what I wanna do with my life now that I'm suppose to be grown up.”
As if in response to those words, the cell phone in her back pocket began to chime and she pulled it out to see Karlie's number displayed.
“Hold that thought for a moment...” she shot to the young man examining the motor before hitting the talk button and hearing her cuz's voice asking her where she was at. “Hey Sissybug.... Yeah.... ummm.. I'm afraid there's been a bit of a change in plans... The challenger started acting up and I'm about five hours away yet...... Yeah... uh huh..... No, I'm fine. I found a garage in this small town and the mechanic's looking at it now...... Yuhuh.... I think I'm going to stay the night here and see what he finds out. The roads were a real bitch coming in so its probably best anyways even if its something minor with the car..... Yup.... Okies... Luvs you too! Call you tomorrow!”
Then, hitting the end button, she pocketed the phone and turned back to meet Ryders gaze.
“Sorry bout that.... Any ideas whats causing the problem? I don't know about you but I'm freezing my hinny off and could use some hot chocolate and something warm to eat.Its to blasted cold to be standing out here in this snow and its closing time for you. ”she said, giving a little shiver and nodding towards the sign on the door listing hours. "I hadn't intended on keeping anyone late and morning will be soon enough to get a good look at whatever s going on. Not much we can do tonight now anyways, right? Right! I won't take no for an arguement!"
OK, yeah, so she was being the brat her brother had always accused her of being but since when had that ever stopped her before. She was tired from being cooped up in that car all day and she needed to do something besides be cold and grumpy. If she was meant to be stuck here for some ungodly reason then she was going to make the most of what time she had and spend some of that time with an old friend.
Glancing around conspiratorily, she eyed the blue jeep sitting nearby and an impish grin spread over her face.
"OHHHHHHHHHHHH.... 4 wheel drive!! I don't suppose thats yours by any chance, Winchester? I don't guess you'd be up for some snow climbing would you???" she chimed out, excitement practically beaming from her blue eyes. "I've always heard about four wheeling in snow banks and stuff but I've never actually DONE it...."

Ryder pulled the dipstick out to check the oil level, replacing it when he was satisfied that there was enough in there not to have caused the break down. He tightened this value, and loosened that one, keen eyes taking in every little detail of what was beneath the hood. At the slight movement that was Simi leaning against the vehicle, the hunter lifted his gaze a moment, cringing a little inside as she went on to tell him what her family had been doing; all the normal things that his family would most likely be doing too. Damn it, he missed them. He really did. Well, -most- of them. So far that little meter in his heart that used to belong to the brother he looked up to was sitting on empty. Most likely that part of him would be empty for good. He smiled lightly at the blonde’s ‘grown-up’ comment, wondering if there was a set age you were supposed to figure out what the hell you were going to do with the rest of your life. God knew he had no freaking clue. Ryder nodded in understanding when her phone when off, leaning back under the hood and doing his best not to eavesdrop on her conversation. It sounded like it was the cousin she had referred to earlier, and if his memory served him right that cousin was mostly likely Karlie Damara. Their circles, though large, always had a way of coming around and he remembered the last time he had met the other bubbly blonde. Karlie and Simi were two peas in a pod. He had to chuckle to himself at the remembrance of the two pig-tailed little girls in their dresses and him and the other hunter boys chasing them around with boogers at the end of their fingers. Those were the good ole’ days. Ryder’s smile grew wider when the conversation ended without Simi telling Karlie just -who- the mechanic was, and a sudden appreciation enveloped him like a warm embrace. Man. He owed her one. Wiping the grease from his hands on the back of his jeans, the hunter offered her an easy smile when she asked about what the problem was and when she mentioned keeping him at work over time, he shook his head just as easily. “It’s just a spark plug that needs to be replaced… no big deal, really.” He told her and closed the hood. “We’ve got some in the shop so I can have you fixed up first thing in the morning. God knows after one night in this Po-Dunk town you’ll be ready to get back on the road.”And then everything can go back to normal… He added mentally; stormy blue eyes watching the blonde glance around place. Of course, promptly getting her some take-out and into a hotel room so he could get back to his normal, solitary routine was out of the question the moment her sapphire gaze lit on the JEEP. Ryder grimaced, mentally berating himself for the fleeting thought of having some fun with her. He wasn’t supposed to be having fun. Not with anybody…especially not a female with legs that went on for days… Clearing his throat, the hunter shrugged and pulled the keys from the pocket of his jeans, moving over to a hook that held his worn leather jacket. What was the worst that could happen? They do a couple of donuts? Maybe jump a snow bank or two? If it meant not actually having to do the sit down and lets talk about why you left your family high and dry over dinner thing, then it was worth it. Tugging on the coat over his long sleeve black AFFLICTION tee-shirt, Ryder shrugged and extended his hand, palm up, keys lying in the middle. “I guess it’s not worth having a big jeep unless you really use it.” He said a little reluctantly, and then lifted his gaze to hers. “You wanna’ drive?”

Would it be wrong if she suddenly screamed "Oh BABY, GIVE EM TO ME NOW?" Yeah.. Probably. Someone would probably..ok, definitely.. get the wrong idea. Well, if said person were actually crazy enough to be lurking around outside in this cold and snow.
Inside Simi settled for squealing and doing the grabby hand motion while practically dancing in spot.
"Ohohohoh please, please, please??" she shot back, her face bright with anticipation."I haven't gotten to drive anyone's truck or jeep in like... FOREVER! At least, not since that time Ash and I got Jakes truck stuck in the mud down by the bayou and Uncle Curse had to come drag us out... That wasn't my fault though, honest! It was Ash... He was whipping cookies like a fiend and hit a soft spot....."
The look on Ryders face made her wanna take back those words so she pasted on an even more innocent look. No need to mention it had been HER idea to begin with and Ash had just taken the game to heart. Something Ash was always good for and she'd known it when shed encouraged him to steal his brothers keys and head out for a joyride with her. Man, it was a good think Jake was out of the country or she and Ash would have BOTH been dead. As it was, the oldest Jordan still hadn't quiet forgiven them, she didnt think.
"I promise to be careful and not do anything you wouldn't do if that makes you feel better? I know how you guys are about your vehicles and I promise to let you drive the challenger someday soon!!!" Simi continued, snatching the keys from his hands and hopping madly from foot to foot as she bounced with excitement. "We are going to have so much FUN!!! You and me.. We are going to forget our troubles and just be two wild peeps tonight!! No family talks no personal talks.. Just you, me and the snowy roads!!"
Then, like the little whirlwind of activity she was, Simi spun around and almost fell on her ass in the said snow. Catching herself at the last moment, she cast him an impish grin over her shoulder, grabbed his hand and then hauled ass for the shiney blue Jeep that sat not far away. It was so second nature of her that she didn't even look at him as she bounced like a ping pong ball gone AWOL.
"Come on, Come on, Come on!!" she chirped as she made it to the drivers side and wrestled with the door. "I hope you got lots of GOODDDDDDDDDDD music, Winchester!!'
Oh Yesh... Spastic, thy name is Simi.
Logically, she knew she should be a lady and let Ryder drive but... NAH!!! What was the fun in THAT??? Besides, he already knew she wasn't anyones idea of a sweet and innocent miss. The good lord knew she and the other girls from the academy had long ago proven that to the boys they'd grown up with.
The thought made her paused however... Briefly. Glancing over at him, she frowned and then looked at the Jeep before peeking out at him under long blond lashes.
"UH..... This is where I should probably ask if your sure about this right? " she said, biting her bottom lip. "Cause... I know she's your baby and all and I did kind of crash your joint. If you want.... I can just go to the motel and leave you in peace..... You probably weren't really expecting to have to babysit anyone ... Maybe you have other plans? If so......."
Ok, yeah.. she was giving him an out that she didn't really want him to take or think he SHOULD take but... She hadn't missed that hunted look in his eyes or the tense set of his shoulders when he'd realized who he was looking at. Honestly, she didn't want her presence to upset him anymore than necessary, no matter who good it felt to be out from under the watchful eyes of her family and friends.
Running a hand through her hair, she sighed before continuing.
"I'm sorry... I'm probably coming on strong and all weird, huh??? I guess I was just excited to see you and got carried away..... Its not often I meet up with an old friend and ... well... Lifes been crazy, you know? Mama always tells me I need to settle down but its so nice being away from everything that I kind of got carried away....."

Ryder arched a tawny brow at the blonde who was practically about to burst from her suppressed excitement. Her squeal hit his ears like Freddy Kruger knives across a chalkboard, and he winced and placed his empty hand against the side of his head to keep his eardrum from exploding. An odd imagery struck him then. If the little Blair did come apart from the restrained enthusiasm, would it be in bits of golden and pink sparkles? The mental curiosity made the man shake his head in wonder, and he couldn’t keep the smirk from whispering across his face as Simi fairly tap-danced for him while grabbing for the keys. Of course that smirk faded just as quickly as she proceeded to tell him about getting Jacob’s vehicle stuck in the mud, and just to be a smart-ass, Ryder pulled the keys back and gave her an uncertain look. “The words just tumble out before you even have a chance to think better of them, don’t they?” He asked her hypothetically with a little up curve of his lip, teasing her a bit by holding the keys behind his back and rocking backwards on his heels. The promise to let him drive the challenger in return was what sealed the deal. All his life he’d grown up around the classics, and when his dad and Ben weren’t aware of it, he even taken the Impala on a spin or two. With an puckish smile Ry held the keys back out again, letting loose a quiet chuckle when Simi plucked them from his hands and then bounced up and down like a four year old high on pixie sticks. Whether he wanted to admit it or not, the hunter had let a little of her enthusiasm infect him, and he was starting to wonder if it wasn’t a godsend that her Challenger had broken down when and where it did. Maybe a little bit of innocent fun was what he needed. Maybe it was just the push he required to make a call back home just to let them know he was alright. Wrinkling his brows in incredulity when the bouncy blonde almost fell on her ass, he cocked his head to the side and clicked his tongue against his teeth when she urged him to get a move on. “Yes ma’am!” Ryder gave her a playful hand from forehead salute and climbed in on the driver’s side, placing a protective hand over the CD player when she brought up his music. “But -I- get to pick the soundtrack…” He was doing just that-- playing with the player, when she suddenly traded her eager air for a more subdued one, looking up at him from under her lashes like a scolded child. It stole the breath from him for a moment…that look, and he narrowed his stormy eyes and whipped them back to the CD he was shoving in before his expression gave him away. “Oh yeah, it’s all good.” Ryder replied with forced nonchalance and dragged his gaze back up to her cherubic visage as a shrug lifted his shoulders. “Don’t worry about it. You’re not 9 years old anymore Simi and I don’t feel like I’m babysitting. Like you said…were just two old friends passing the time and having a little fun while we’re at it, right?”And when Rob Zombie’s Dragula began to blare over the JEEP’s suped up speaker system, he threw it in reverse for her. “Now f'ing hit it, Simi!”

And just like that... The mood was broke and they were off. A huge grin split Simi's face as she hit the gas and gave Ryder a sassy wink. Mischief danced in her sapphire eyes even as they peeled backwards and she reached for the gear shift. Throwing it into drive as soon as they were in the clear and facing the right direction, the little blond checked her seat belt and then settled into the business of driving. "You asked for it buddy!!" she teased, letting her foot tap the gas and the back end of the jeep slide just a bit. "If there is one thing I enjoy more than racing my car its four wheeling.. You know how the Jordan kids are... They love to go off roading and more often than not I went along for the ride."As Dragula blasted out of the speakers, the pair grinned at each other like a pair of escaping convicts from the loony bin and then they were off. With the snow letting up that the beams of the headlights lit up the evening enough to see at least a foot of snow piled on the road, Simi eased the Jeep on to the road and carefully drove down the highway. Soon enough, they spied a city vehicle dozing the fluffy stuff into a high bank in the Walmart parking lot. Several other vehicles seemed to have the same idea they did and some of them had already started whipping cookies, much to the city man's amusement. More than one truck appeared to be trying to out do another and the slim blond could only giggle as the maintenance guy drove off chuckling and left them all to it. Obviously, the teenagers in town were in the mood for a little fun too and the city officials weren't stuck in the muds like some were! That was Ok though... Simi was in the mood for a little bit herself. Hence it was that the next hour was spent skidding around the parking lot to Rob Zombie and trading insults and laughs with the blond beside her. All to soon, though, her arms were tired and she pulled the vehicle over to glance across at Ryder. Her eyes danced as she beamed at him and gave a mocking challenge. "SOOOOOO.... Your turn, buddy! Think you can do better than that?? Not even a ding in the bumper!! What do you say we try some of these backwoods roads and see if its funner than the bayou after a gulf rain??"she shot at him with impish delight. Then, she giggled and yelled "CHINESE FIRE DRILL" as she dove out of the jeep and ran around it once and then dived into the passenger side before the middle Winchester brother even made it around the first time. "SLOW POKE RODRIGUEZ IS WHAT I"MMA GOING TO START CALLING YOU IF YOU DON"T MOVE THAT CUTE ASS, WINCHESTER!!" she shouted as she fell laughing into the passenger side seat. So yeah... Maybe they both were to old to be acting like teenagers but it felt good to laugh and just relax. Who cared if they were in the middle of some Podunk town where no one knew them from Adam and they were acting like a couple full blown hooligans? Simi had loosened up more in the last hour than she had in six months and it felt delicious to just be with someone who wasn't trying to hover or make her feel guilty by shooting worried looks at her. With Ryder, she didn't have any secrets he was trying to ferret out and they weren't trying to solve each others problems. Instead, they were just letting events take their course and enjoying a rare moment of childish glee together. Tomorrow would still be there tomorrow and the past would still haunt them both..... but... for tonight... They were taking a bit of a leave from reality and just enjoying being young and alive. When Ryder finally jumped into the drivers side, Simi brushed the snowflakes off her nose and then fastened her seat belt once more. Her cheeks were rosie from the cold and excitement and her head bobbed to the still blaring music. The grin she shot him was impish as she practically bounced in her seat. "I THINK I LOVE SNOW!!! WHO WOULD HAVE KNOWN THIS WOULD BE SO MUCH FUN!!! LETS GO! LETS GO!!!"

Simi's handsome husband, the love of her life and father to be of twin hellions. As the middle Winchester sibling, he's been through hell but his love and loyalty to his family still remains true. Hurt any one of them and come hell or high water, he'll hunt you down.

Yeah, he’d asked for it alright…When Simi put petal to the metal with her dainty size 5 1/2's Ryder had to grab on to the top bar so that he didn’t fall out of the side. They swerved a bit, and then she got a handle on it and straightened the big blue jeep, but the hunter was quick to pull the seat belt across his middle in case they ended up bottom side up. Ah shit, what exactly had he gotten himself into? The pixie beside him seemed to be in control of the vehicle, but the white stuff was piling up and visibly was slim to almost nonexistent. The town was a tiny one. It had nothing more than a Wal-Mart, a garage, a movie theatre and a BBQ restaurant attached to the hotel where he’d been living, so it was inevitable that the locals used the snow and ice covered streets as their playground. The traffic was at a minimum on account of the weather, giving the kids room to spin out and slide across the ice, and Simi and Ryder were right there with them. So, yeah, the Winchester had to admit he was having fun; something he hadn’t felt in ages. “Who taught you how to drive, your Grandma?” He teased and then Simi paid him back ten fold for it by spinning a donut that had him clutching the dash so hard his knuckles and his face when bone white before the cock-sided grin reappeared. By the time the time the CD played out its last song, they were both laughing like fools, and Ryder’s spirits felt lifted like the sun at day break. He had to give it to the woman, she knew how to drive like a bat out of hell and she knew how to put a smile on a broken man’s face. If that wasn’t a gift he didn’t know what was. Extending his arm to grasp the head rest behind her, he smirked when she eased onto the curb and then challenged him to best her driving. She sounded just like when they were kids running around barefoot yelling, “Who ever gets there last is a rotten egg!”. Ryder couldn’t help himself. He laughed so hard then his side hurt, grasping his belly and shaking his head at her silliness. Damn, this was a lot of fun. The memories of the better times, thinking about when life was good and innocent, it was enough to make him wish he’d just stayed there instead of running away like a coward. But he wasn’t going to think about that now… His grey eyes went wide when Simi suddenly vanished from her seat daring him to a game of Chinese Fire Drill, and he quickly hopped out darting around to the other door as she dove into the passenger side. Ryder climbed in and shut the door, quiet for moment as he took in the sight of her with snow on the tip of her nose and those long blonde lashes. If he didn’t know better he would have called her an angel, as light as she’d made him feel; but he did know better, and so it was with a lop-sided grin and a shake of his head that he put the jeep in drive and sped off. Ry had know idea where they were headed, he just knew he wasn’t ready to drop her off yet, so he drove deeper into the snowstorm until all you could see was the an occasional top of a roof now and then and sometimes a road sign that couldn’t be read on account it was covered in the white stuff. “You think if we keep driving we’ll end up in China?” Ryder asked her in a teasing manner and glanced over to give her a playful lift of his eyebrow. Wrong move. He shouldn’t have taken his eyes off the road because as soon as he did, the jeep hit something and he lost control, spinning out until they ran headfirst into a high bank of snow. After making sure his passenger was fine and none of his limbs were broken, the hunter tried to put the vehicle in reverse and back out of there, but the thing wouldn’t budge. Talk about rain on the parade; or snow as it were. Ryder’s mood went down hill fast, and with a loud curse he hit the steering wheel with a fist. After a few moments of mentally counting to ten in order to calm his temper, the Winchester got out of the JEEP and slammed the door, pacing the side like a lion in a cage. “Damn it! Damn it to hell!” He cursed again, eyes going to his blonde companion. “We’re fucking stuck here!”
