Working in the same bar for seven months you get to know it quite well, things in this bar particularly could become rather… what’s the word? Predictable. Life however, that wasn’t so predictable for Miss Winchester. Maybe that was why she enjoyed the sheer unpredictability of her job but tonight it was Chevrolet that was throwing that little bit of spice into the mix. Chey had a friend staying with her and the family, a Mr Davenport. It was weird seeing someone she’d been so close to for so many years go get himself a recording contract and head on his way to fame and fortune. A small (SMALL!) part of her was jealous. Tammy had come to the bar and helped Chey set up. Yes, Deklan was going up to see his family tomorrow and his last night as an honorary Winchester was going to be a good one. God knows that he’d been more of a Winchester than the genuine Winchester’s had of late. Tameryn’s family were practically the von traps so it came as no surprise to find out that the girl was hooked up with just about every musical instrument known to man kind.
The weeks since Deklan had been in town had been less than normal. He was one of the only people that knew Chey’s secret and it made keeping it a lot harder. Chey was so worried about slipping up. But it also made her feel better that Jessica wasn’t a secret with him. She had someone that she could just talk to about it. Chey and Deklan’s history was seemingly so complicated but to them it just happened so effortlessly. Her relationship with Deklan always made more sense than her relationship with Craig did and he was the reason the pair met. Craig was Chey’s boyfriend in college and well, he and Deklan were in a band together. When you’re with a guy for the best part of a year and a half you’re bound to know his friends. But her and Dek were closer than she was with her own boyfriend. They had this instantly natural connection, they just teased each other and joked and laughed and she needed that. It was like having one of her brothers there with her.
A few days ago sealed the feeling that he was like a big brother to Chey when he saved her butt. Like father like daughter, Chey ended up taking on a case she wasn’t quite prepared for and got her stupid self captured by a Djinn. Luckily Deklan and her daddy saved her. Guess that was why Dean told her to stay in the car right? The things she’d seen, the things the Djinn had made her see… They changed everything. Except between her and Deklan. They’d both been in shock by what she’d seen in that world but they also found it quite funny in all honestly. Laughing off the idea of them ever being a couple. However Chey neglected to mention that in the dream, standing on that stage felt amazing. Yet this world’s Chey didn’t believe she even nearly had enough talent.
Chey was making Deklan’s last night almost like work for him. She’d organized an open mic night but more of an acoustic live lounge feel than a cheesy karaoke night. What was weird was that it was already pulling in a different crowd to what they were used to. The low lighting and somber atmosphere made it feel like almost a different place. Chey was used to the sound of hunters chattering to themselves or playing cards at a table and enjoying a drink or two. She was also used to the evenings she’d get the younger hunters coming in and she could find herself being bullied into lock ins and even being held upside down on a keg. It was like going to a frat party or something. It definitely wasn’t like going to work. This wasn’t really like going to work either but in a totally different way.
Her fingers ran delicately across the ivory of Tameryn’s piano as she played along with one of the girls that had signed up and as the song played out she felt Tammy’s hand on her shoulder. She whispered into Chey’s ear. Her freckled cheeks filled with a blush and then she watched Deklan walk into the bar and look up at her on the stage. She sighed a little and rolled her eyes. “Okay so, my boss totally just bullied me into this one… And I think we’re going to dedicate it to my best friend over there… Deklan this ones for you…. Because you’re soooo up next!” A cheeky grin grew across her lips as Tameryn set up beside her and pulled her guitar over her shoulder and ran her fingers across it. Moment’s later Tameryn came out with the first couple of lines of the song. This was something Tammy and Chey had done when they were kids to pass their music exams and Chey was sure she wouldn’t remember the words or even how to play it but as soon as she heard Tammy sing her fingers seemed to just move to the right keys. Chey hadn’t really sung publicly since they’d done that performance and that was when they were eleven.
Tammy’s voice ever so beautifully rang out the chorus of the song which made Chey even more nervous but she just looked over at Deklan as her lips went to the microphone and she started to sing. “I can’t tell you what it really is, I can only tell you what it feels like. Right now there’s a steel knife in my wind pipe. I can’t breathe but I still fight while I can fight. As long as the wrong feels right its like I’m in flight.” She looked back to the piano as Tammy took over the vocals and let herself just get lost in the song. “Where you going? I’m leaving you, no you aint. Come back. We’re runnin’ right back, here we go again. Its so insane ‘cause when its going good its going great. I’m superman with the wind at his back, she’s Louis Lane. …… I feel so ashamed ….. I don’t even know his name ….. I’ll never stoop so low again… guess I don’t know my own strength! Just gonna stand there and watch me burn! That’s alright because I like the way it hurts. Just gonna stand there and hear me cry. That’s alright because I love the way you lie.” Chey continued to play the piano beautifully through Libertas as Tammy sang the chorus by herself again and then helped her friend sing out the rest of the song.
This infectious grin grew over Chey’s face as the crowd applauded. She was sure it was all for Tameryn but just the feeling of being on the stage and getting people clapping and even lifting themselves out of their chairs for something she’d done was amazing. The girls both got A’s for this in school and working on the arrangement with her mother was kind of Chey’s introduction to how to write and structure music. Her Aunty Karlie would herself admit she wasn’t the best song writer but it was her teaching that lead Chevrolet to start writing her own. If it hadn’t been for her writing she would have never got to know mr Davernport. She still couldn’t believe he was using some of her work on his album. But he did make her writing sound so damn good.

Deklan met Chey Winchester when he was in college. She was the girlfriend of one of his band mates and the two seemed to hit it off good, and she became like his best friend, but she was a girl. So you know they always got the ‘ Awwwww aren’t they so cute’ stares. It was always like couldn’t he have a friend that is a girl that isn’t a girlfriend? Why do people always make assumptions? He loves Chey to bits, but she is like a sister to him. He loved taking care of her when she was all ill and had the little flump. He took care of her when his band mate was off being a man whore. Deklan was raised by his momma and she taught you that you should treat woman with respect and all that good stuff and that is what he does and thought it was how Chey should be treated and it was sad that his bad mate who had gotten her knocked up had went awol and was messing around on her. She didn’t deserve that at all. He was like the big brother she had at college while her brothers were out doing god knows what.
It was from her he learned about things that go bump in the night it is what her family does. He didn’t believe it at first, but didn’t think she was a nut or anything just thought she was good at making up stories, but she wasn’t lying to him and it was the truth and when his sister got possessed, she was the one that helped. He was lucky to have her in his life. After they went their separate ways, they still had kept in contact and now while he was in town he was staying with the Winchesters. It felt a little odd, but good almost as if they are a second family to him. He has got to meet many wonderful people that are in her life now. He is glad she has such amazing people in her life. He knows it hurts her having a secret not many know about, but at least she can talk to him. He knows what she went threw in college, and about the secrets, her own brothers don’t know. He couldn’t believe he himself got signed onto a label and would be out promoting in a few short months. It was wild!
He would be leaving tomorrow to go home and see his own family for a few weeks. He had sent her off to work, and he still had to get ready pack for his road trip home in the morning. It was about a six-hour drive to his parent’s house. He had got ready and packed most of his clothes and stuff in his bags and what not. He had said Good Night to Mr. & Mrs. Winchester and told them that he would see them in the morning and thanked them for letting him stay there and tried to offer them money, but they wouldn’t take it. He sees where Chey gets that from. He had tried to pay her some royalty fee seeing as the songs she had written, but she would not take it. He was blessed that most of the songs coming out were ones he picked and didn’t have to go by major writers in the biz. It was almost like a dream everything that is happening, but of course, Deklan is a perfectionist so it was only a matter of time before he got discovered, and at least he wasn’t with the band and having Craig drag him down some more.
He had made his choice a long time ago. Deklan didn’t want to hang around with Craig’s sort. He still never told Chey that Craig tried to make him choose between the two of them. It had been a messed up situation. Chey had been more of a friend / sister to him and he couldn’t desert her not in her time of need and well Craig was a piece of work that was for sure and didn’t deserve friends. He couldn’t cover up his lies anymore. He just couldn’t it was wrong. No one deserves to hurt like Chey was hurting. He did seriously hope she could be happier with out Craig in her life. He knew he was happier without the dude in his life. Deklan was all dressed and said his goodnight’s and hoped into his car to go to the bar where Chey was working. It was weird seeing her work at a bar.
When he got there she was on stage, and that was a little bit of a shocker to him seeing as he knew how nervous she sometimes got on stage. Maybe she had felt more comfortable because Tammy was up there with her, but she did say she was bullied into it, and that the song was for him and he so was up next. Deklan had shook his head at her like no he so wasn’t next, just to see what she would do when she was done. He had sat down, at the bar and listened to her and Tammy sing, and god was it beautiful and she should be singing herself and have a deal they both should. They had amazing voices. A huge grin spread across his lips, and she sat their listening to them. Once the set was finished he had gotten off his stool and walked over towards them, to tell them how amazing they were. The crowd in the bar had applauded and for once it didn‘t seem to just have hunters crowding he bar like it had a been a few nights that he was here, “That was amazing,” he had told them.
“So that was dedicated to me eh?” he asked. “You missy should be on stage more often the both of you should. Listen to them applause.” he had told her and gave her a big hug. He so wanted to see if she had caught anything about him saying he so wasn’t going next and wanted to see if she would bully him. It was almost as if she was trying to put him to work.
(( hope this is workable sweetiepies. I didnt add the djinn stuff like you said seeing as you wanted to go about this a different way cuz the idea you had.))

Yes, Chey caught the little ‘I’m not doing it’ head shake Deklan had given her. Since when did Chey take no for an answer? Well, from Deklan at least. In typical Chey fashion she simply ignored her best guy and went on with the gut wrenching and all in all terrifying performance. The crowd was filling the room with applause and then Deklan approached them and told them it was amazing. Tammy had given her typical ‘I know’ with a giggle and a bounce of the stage. Chey however stayed set behind the piano. “Thank you. You know me and performing…!” she said with a small roll of the eyes that showed she was terrified while doing that. Deklan made a comment about her dedicating it to him. “Yeah I mean you’re such an abusive bastard so that’s so your song.” she said with a wink. He was far from it. It was her ex who was the abusive bastard. I mean seriously, Deklan was the polar opposite to Craig. Chey was then being told how she should be on stage more often. “Please, most of that applause is for Tameryn. Besides, you know I don’t do stages. Not often anyway… You on the other hand…. The microphone’s there!” Chey pointed at it and poked her tongue out at her best friend. If he thought he was getting away with THAT one he had another thing coming. In the world of Chevrolet Winchester and friends you did as you were told or they raised some hell. Literally, they raised a zombie army to come eat you.
((Shortest thing I've written in a very very long time >_< im sorry)) [/blockquote]

She had sounded amazing singing with Tams it really blew him away seeing, as he didn’t expect for her to be singing she didn’t like to do so. It was why she always wrote songs, but this was beautiful and he loved it even thought the song was ‘Love the way you lie ‘It hadn’t really been about him, because he is so the opposite of that, but it made his day her dedicating it to him, he had tried to play it off as in no way he was going up there, but Miss Winchester doesn’t take no as an answer. Has she ever? Not as long as he known her. He had told them both they were awesome and Tams response has been I know. “Full of herself eh? We might have to inflate that ego a little.” He said teasingly. Tam wasn’t full of herself as far as he knew.
Chey had told him he was such an abusive bastard and the song was for him, and winked at him. “Oh yeah, that is so me I am such a bad, bad boy. Does that mean you are going to buy me a drink?” He teased with a wink back at her seeing as he was so being bullied into being on stage. “Preferably one that doesn’t come with a side of choking.” he didn’t need her boy toy trying to kill him. Was he ever here. Deklan looked around. Chey had said the applause were all for Tameryn and he gave her the look of like are you serious no way in hell were they all for Tameryn. How could they all be for Tameryn they both were amazing!
He was well aware she didn’t do the stage. He of all people knew that all too well… She had given him the microphone so there was no backing out of it now. He just had to think of what to sing. “Freckles, I think I am going to go with Believe, the acoustic version of it.” He said to freckles, and went over to those playing the music to see if they would know how to follow seeing, as it wouldn’t be in the karaoke machine unless she stuck the instrumentals to her songs in there. The lights were dimly lit, and it was totally different in there from it normal setting and was peaceful and only little chatter with people wanting to hear some singing and they must be making good cover charges if Tams was collecting a cover. After talking to the dudes with the instruments and Tams, and Chey he had asked “Am I getting paid for this? “ in a teasing manor as he waited for the music to play.
The music started to fill the room, and he sang softly his song believe. Looking out at the crowd. Crowds were not a big thing to Deklan seeing as he loved to perform "Believe, Believe" was whispered softly into the microphone as the song began to play and Deklan continued to sing ” I'm looking at the future I see it in your face. I don't know where you came from, you came from but girl, you can tell me on your way. “ he belted out, as he paced across the stage they made up. At least he didn’t have to break up a sweat dancing just yet. It made him wonder how many songs Chey was going to have him sing. Was she going to wear him out wasn’t she? She so seemed to have some evil plans going on in that head of hers. I ain't no Casanova And I'm not spitting you no game Your heart's been broken over and over But I'll make you trust in love again he sang and he ran his fingers across the top of the piano, as he sang out the song. It sounded so much sweeter and down to earth acoustically then it does normal.
You know way too many of these same old guys. They tell way too many of these same old lies. Girl, I ain't just anybody, put your faith in me. I will make you believe believe Deklan so wasn’t one of the guys that ran you the same old game and lies. He was one of the gentlemen out there, and he thinks he has proved that to Chey. He knew all of her secrets and helped her out threw a rough patch even thought he didn’t need to nor was asked to do so.
I used to be so lonely. Felt like a man up on the moon. The stars were my directions, directions. Leading me straight here to you. he sang out softly and was pacing the stage and when the hook came round he tried to get Chey to sing it with him and put her own little spin on it. Before breaking into the next verse. Hello heart, let me in. All your cracks, I'm gonna mend. Hello heart, let me in I'm gonna make you try again. he sang out before breaking into the hooks of the song won again, as the song faded out into the night.. “ Thank you. Give it up for the lovely Chey Winchester who helped write this song. “ He had tried to get the crowd to give it up for her. She deserved the praises he just made her stuff sound good.
