Simi's handsome husband, the love of her life and father to be of twin hellions. As the middle Winchester sibling, he's been through hell but his love and loyalty to his family still remains true. Hurt any one of them and come hell or high water, he'll hunt you down.

❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ The road had been long and winding; crooked and broken in places, but look at where it had led them. The middle Winchester honestly believed, deep down in his very core, that had the path he’d been traveling been perfect, it would not have ended in this place; this Eden, which was right next to his new bride and the mother-to-be of little twin Winchesters. A man couldn’t feel any prouder. Ryder smiled sheepish and tore his eyes from the dotted road to cast an adoring glance at Simi; his grin grew broader and a dimple peeked out from hiding; his stormy blue-grey gaze lit for once with the glow of peace. The gaze crept down her growing chest and he cocked his head in approval, laughing quiet when she caught his impish smile just before he turned it back to the road. Simone had that quiet inner knowledge that gave her eyes in the back of her head and the ability to read his mind just by looking at him. Besides they were still on their honeymoon, and there wasn’t much else on his mind, really. In the driver’s seat the young husband and hunter was nearly peeling out of his skin. He was driving way too fast and finding it way too hard to tell his new wife where exactly this trip had been taking them. He’d told her it was a surprise and he honestly hoped it would be a good one. It had been hell’a hard to keep from spilling about the real estate agent and the second and third time he’d come to actually see it for himself before signing the papers. But he’d known. As soon as he’d laid eyes on the place he had known it was perfect for his Simi. It was a fixer-upper, but just big enough for a growing family and far enough away but still close enough to their kin. The place had belonged to someone passionate about nature; foliage and bright blooms were bursting across the grounds where the house sat painted before picturesque seascape and all the rooms had picture windows that let light in from every angle. It had been a quick estate sale so it was filled with furniture and knick-knacks from its previous owner; some in good enough shape that perhaps they could keep it within its natural home. Even the open observatory screamed the witch’s name. It had a pantry filled with jars of….well…one could use their imagination, but furnished with heavy wooden tables and workspaces perfect for a woman and her…well…spell-casting. It was all in all, exactly what he thought about the woman who had healed and taken his heart; a miracle. The house was seated on a craggy cliff that looked over the ocean, and the drive led to a short, but winding dirt path. Just before they’d reached such path Ryder was nearly bursting out of his body with excitement. “You gotta’ close your eyes now baby. We’re almost there.”He drove the Jeep slowly down the dirt drive so that they wouldn’t bounce around too much. Simi was in delicate condition and her husband didn’t want to add to her discomfort. When they pulled in front of the house Ryder clenched his hand over hers, squeezing three times like he always did before anxiously peeling out of his seat belt. “We made it.” His bright smile was evident in his tone, and Ryder patted her knee animatedly before tearing out of the driver’s side. “Keep your eyes closed. I’m coming around for you.” The young hunter bounded over to the passenger side and whipped the door open, grabbing her hand and gently easing her out of the big blue Jeep. “I’ve got your hand, just take it slow. Trust me.”He was fairly beaming when they moved up onto the porch, and he let her hand go, stepping back and grinning with anticipation. “Okay, you can open them, Simi…”

The Greatest Magic of All
Ryder was up to something. Simi didn't know how she knew it.. She just did. Maybe it was the half a dozen times he'd given her the slip and taken off on a mysterious errand or just the general fact that he was wearing an expression that resembled the cat who ate the canary. Either way, she had a feeling that something was going on and he was well pleased with himself. In fact, he was so excited about whatever it was that he was practically climbing out of his skin. Every time he glanced at her, his azure eyes were lit up like a kids on christmas morning and she couldn't help but smile back.
What on earth was going on??
This morning he'd dragged her out of a warm bed, practically dressed her himself and then kidnapped her off for some sort of drive. Her first thought was that he was taking her for a picnic or something but when hed headed south, she'd been completely baffled. And then he'd turned off the highway and headed towards the ocean. Where they going to the beach? It was still a bit chilly out for that sort of thing wasn't it?
Giving her handsome husband a look, Simi asked for hte millionth time where they were going and got the same response. Rolling her eyes in exasperation, she grinned and shook her long blond mane. Ryder was obviously happy with himself so whatever it was.. She was just going to go with it. That sparkle lit up his eyes with a warmth that spread to her own heart and she sighed happily.
Then he told her to closer her eyes.
Giving him a slight frown, the young woman did what she was told as the vehicle pulled off on a bumpy road. As they bounced gently over the driveway, she resisted the temptation to peek and made a mental list of all the things her husband could be up to.
But none of them compared to what she saw after her husband stopped the car and ran around to help her out. WIth her eyes still closed, she tottered after him and let him guide her up what seemed like.. Stairs? What on earth? The lose of his hand gave her a moment of panic but then his gentle baritone rang out.
“Okay, you can open them, Simi…”
Delicate blond flashes fluttered and then opened as Simi cautiously gazed around. She was on what looked like a wide, open porch that overlooked a fenced yard and a magical garden. Blinking rapidly, she caught the scent of the ocean on the air and her brows crinkled as she spun in a slow circle, taking everything in.
"Um.... Its beautiful, honey... but.... What are we doing here?" she asked in her sweet, southern drawl."Are we visiting someone here?? They have a beautiful home... It seems... Homey... Magical even.... What I wouldn't give to have just this sort of home to raise our babies in......"
Turning back to Ryder, she tilted her head questioningly and gave him a soft smile that said she had no clue what was going on but was content to have him explain.

❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ Ryder couldn’t have rid the crooked, dimpled smile from his boyish face had he wanted to. The look on Simi’s virtuous visage the moment she’d opened her deep blues spoke volumes of what she thought of the house, and that unspoken approval was all the young hunter needed to know he’d done something right for once. And he meant to keep doing right by the woman and those babies, no matter what it took. It was all he could do not to let the cat out of the bag when she asked if they were visiting someone, and then added that she would give anything to raise their family in the seemingly ageless Victorian home, but Ryder just beamed at the stunning blonde witch, once again grasping her hand before tugging her up to the door and pushing his way in. “Come on…you have to see the inside…” He told her, leading Simi into the entryway. Immediately upon entering the house they were embraced by a warmth that seemingly radiated from the cottage. To the right of the front door a set of dark wooden stairs led up to the upper interiors and just ahead of them, a grand Victorian style parlor. “When I was doing research on the place I found out it’s been owned by this one family since it was build way back in the 1850’s and rumor has it they were witches…”Ryder smirked a little and arched a tawny brow. “You should hear some of the stuff the town’s people had to say about them…wore stripey socks…pointy hats…and jumped off the roof on brooms on Halloween…” Ryder shook his head and chuckled a bit, tugging her into the furnished living room. The space was richly endowed with old leather furniture and antique lamps, and painted in garden greens and browns, decorated with a tangle of hand painted vines and birds on the walls. Hanging from all the windows were sumptuous velvet panels in earthen colors and lined with embroidered sheer panels as dainty as a summer breeze. There was a piano and a bookshelf full of old tomes, a grand fire place and pictures hanging on the walls. “All this stuff belonged to them. No one wanted to remove anything when the last owner passed, and the town’s people, as superstitious as they were, wouldn’t touch a thing when it was put up at the estate sale.”The newly married man kept the radiant grin as he cocked his head, towards the room beyond, and gently guided her into the next space; the dining room. “This looks like it should be the dining room, but the kitchen is so big they used this as a work space or something…” Though there -was- a large rectangular dark wooden table in the center, the sideboards were filled with hand made candles and looms of yarn, and dusty little bottles just waiting for some quixotic potion to fill them. With that he kept them moving, heading into the spacious kitchen the young hunter knew would make Simone smile. It was huge and full of light and cheerful; painted in delicate creams and linen hangings and punctuated by dark floors and a trussed high ceiling. The cabinets were glass and though tinted with age, showed a whole set of exquisite porcelain dinnerware and old cast irons pots and pans hung from lowered places in the ceiling. “You can practically smell the banana bread in here, can’t you?” Ryder asked impishly and continued with his tour. Just off the kitchen was a pantry with floor to ceiling shelves and cabinets lined with hundred of jars and containers filled with ingredents, herbs, tonic, and some other things Ryder didn't want to look too closely upon. There were bottles, jars, mortars & pestles, and bowls - all in a variety of colors. The conservatory; just off the kitchen though a set of glass french doors was overgrown with green vines that had overtaken the windows and lined with so many years worth of dust, but the hunter recognized this as the perfect place for Simi to work on her spells and charms. As it was, the shelves, both built into the walls and standing freely, were filled with different colored bottles, vases, and containers that called out MAGICAL LABORATORY… Ryder whisked her up stairs, opening doors to show off bedrooms and storage spaces and finally coming to the room at the end of the hall, where he paused, his grey-blue eyes brighter than they ever had been. “This…this one is the best part…” The young man flashed his pearly whites and dimples, opening the door to a room that was spilling with light from large windows that lined the walls and though it was filled with old dolls as if just used for storage, a massive handmade sleigh crib sat against the wall opposite them, white linen panels hung from above to caress it like a night time kiss. “Well…what do you think?” Ry let go of her hand and turned full to face her; the joy practically spilling out of him through the animated expression he wore.

What on earth? That was the only thing Simi had time to think before she was being whisked inside the beautiful Victorian house. Several times through out the impromptu tour, it was on the tip of her tongue to ask if someone wasn't going to be upset with their trespassing but each time Ryder forestalled her by showing her yet another wonder. The house seemed to have a life all its own and the fact that he'd researched it so closely made her smile. She could certainly see what it had been passed down through a family generation after generation. IF she were to have such a house, she would treasure it forever. There just seemed to be such an air of magic about the dwelling that Simi felt as if she were coming home. She could practically hear the sounds of laughter in each room and the pitter patter of little feet running in the hallways. So much so that when the tour was ended, she gave a small, regretful sigh. Oh to have a home such as this and to fill it with the comforts she herself had grown up with for her own family. Maybe even more so. For all that she was a James and comfortable in the elegant, regal manor of her birth, the homey air of this house and the natural ease of its air was more to her style. It had a laid back, comfortable feel to it that invited one to sit a spell and share a cup of tea or maybe read a book as the rain came down. Much like her childhood home but oh so different too. She had never cared for the snooty business meetings her parents held in their formal dining room and she'd always thought a house should feel lived in instead of like a showplace. During much of the time growing up, she and her friends had avoided certain rooms in the house for fear of breaking one of the priceless objects of her fathers heritage. And she didn't want that for her own children. Call her funny but she wanted her own home to be the ultimate invite for those she loved and cared about. Much like this very house. And then he showed her her dream come to life in the form of a beautiful nursery complete with a sleigh like crib and fluffy clouds. For a moment, Simi could only stare and then she turned narrowed eyes on her husband. Raising a delicate finger, she poked him in the middle of his chest and gave him a gimlet look. "What do I think??? I think SOMEONE had best be explaining thy self before his wife tortures him for answers!!! Did you bring me up here for a reason or were you just practicing your breaking and entering skills?? This house is a dream but.... I'm not sure why we are here. Is there something you are wanting to tell me??? Of should I start calling your brother for bail money?? I dunno about you but I'm not having these babes behind bars.. Besides.. I look awful in orange."

❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ Ryder couldn’t help but laugh at Simi’s curious, but smiling stare and he brought a hand up to rub the place on his chest where she had poked him with an alabaster finger. In her wide, jovial sapphire gaze he could see the future; Simi in overalls covered in paint from head to toe and a brush in her hand; her hair pulled up into a messy blonde bun and a smear of color on her cheek. He could see himself lifting a hand to smudge the smear; a toddler in one arm on his hip and another tawny-headed little dumplin’ scooting across the wooden floor on her little knees. His wife was glowing and her middle was swollen. They were repainting this room for another one on the way. A sheepish rumor of a smirk appeared across his boyish face and a dimple peeked out from a cheek. Ryder let his face drop a little to hide the secret in his grey-blue eyes, for just the mental image had done a number on his already thundering heart and don’t even get me started on his over eager libido. Finally lifting his gaze, the young hunter dragged his lower lip through his teeth and reached out to grasp the witch’s hand, pulling her back into the cage of his arms. It did nothing to calm the wild running stallions in his chest but the feel of her against him at least brought his attention back from the musing distraction. “I think the color orange brings out the color of your eyes, Angel.” Ryder grinned reticently and brought a hand up to cup her cheek. “But no…I’d prefer if the twins where born in this house, not the big house.”His silvery blue eyes shifted back and forth in her intense, cerulean one, and he brushed a thumb across her cheek. “This is ours Simi. I bought it...for us…for them.” The middle Winchester grinned wider, and his eyes dropped to her belly; taking in it as if he could see the babies through their bodily home. Once more he saw the identical toe-heads in his mind, and his smile widened when it lifted to grasp his wife’s. “That is if you want it…I mean…it’s not as close to your parents house as you probably would have liked, but close enough that you could get there easy or vice versa if I am out too long on a hunt.” He loosed a quiet sheepish snort from his nose and shook his head, stepping back and replacing the hand that was at her face to rub the back of his neck. “I should have brought you to look at it first. I mean…you might not want to fix it up…”He lost all train of thought then with all the doubts that had suddenly sprung up inside of him.

OK. There was NO way she had just heard that correctly. Absolutely no way. It could only be her brain malfunctioning and putting words to the movement of his lips that she WANTED to hear.Surely he hadn't just said that this wonderful, magical place was THEIRS. Because.. that would be like.. A dream come true and Simi knew better to believe in that sort of luck. But then... She had Ryder didnt she? Maybe things like that COULD happen after all. Narrowing her eyes, the pretty blond placed delicate hands on slender hips. Her sapphire depths sparkled even as her expression turned indignant and her ruby red lips opened to give him a piece of her mind. "Now you just hold it right there, Ryder James Winchester! What do you think I am? Stupid? I don't think so!! Don't even go thinking your backing out of this now!! You can't show a girl her dream house and then decide to back track! That isn't very nice! Especially when its the perfect place to raise these little hellions and the thought that my husband picked it out for us.... Well, you just TRY to remove me from this house now!!" Then, grinning, she threw her arms about his neck and stood on her tip toes to kiss him hard. Excitement fairly danced around her as she suddenly pulled away and spun about in the room that would soon be the nursery for their children. "I'm so happy... I think I might just explode from it!! Everything is just so.... perfect....." she chirped out, finally coming to a stop and beaming at him. "Have I told you how much I love you, husband mine?? Cause I do.... So much that I know this house will never be lacking in warmth and happiness."

❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ No…she was far from stupid. Simone James Winchester was perhaps the smartest woman he’d ever known. But besides her wit, and the sense of humor that never failed to have his sides hurting from laughing so hard when it was just the two of them being silly, it was her heart that had captured him from the start. Maybe even all those years ago when she was in braids and bare feet and he was a little hellion climbing trees; there had always been something miraculous about the girl. Something that kept him from throwing the water balloon at her from the second floor window, something that had always made him want to wipe away her little girl tears. Whether he knew it or not, before the butterflies in his stomach were about physical gratification, they were about a young boy’s enthrallment with a toe-headed imp. Ryder was chuckling happy when she narrowed her sapphire eyes on him and tried to force a vexed warning about removing her from the house, but the chortle was cut off by the press of her mouth against his when Simi thanked her new husband without inadequate words. The young hunter wound his arms around the witch and held her tight; returning the lippy embrace with an ardent one of his own. The feel of her velvet lips and her tongue seeking out his never failed to shoot straight to his libido. Ry growled low in his throat and let his hands drop to her hips; clutching with gentle, but deliberate pressure. No sooner had she kissed him crazy did Simi twirl out of his arms and spin in an animated circle around the room. Ryder had to beam at her; his smile side-ways and satisfied as he crossed the room to open the window so the breeze off the sea could drift in. He perched on the window seat beneath the large glass, crossing his arms over his chest as he regarded her latter words. “You told me about fifteen minutes ago but it’d been too long. A man needs reaffirmation; especially when a woman is having pregnancy sickness and he knows every minute of it she’s inwardly cursing him.” The middle Winchester grinned and waved her over, opening his arms so that she would sit in his lap and he could wrap his arms around her again. Ryder’s grey-blue eyes were still lit with contentment but his expression was firm. “Okay baby…one thing we have to talk about since we are really doing this…” He told her, brushing a long strand of her hair off her shoulder so he could press a kiss to the plane of skin there. “I’m gonna’ be around as much as I can…don’t want to leave you here alone what with…” Ryder gestured to her belly, and an absent smile turned up his lips again. “But you know I just can’t quit…not when I’ve still gotta’ find a way out of this contract…not when there are things out there gunning for my family. You have to promise me you’ll take it easy when I’m gone. I don’t want you getting into a bind here while you’re by yourself or worse, get hurt. We got time to do all this…we’re gonna’ be here for the rest of our lives…hopefully.”

And he is good, so good He treats your little girl like a real man should He is good, so good, he makes promises he keeps No he's never gonna leave So dont you worry about me Dont you worry about meGod, was it really possible to be this happy? Somedays, it seemed as if she were living her very own fairy tale completely with the happily ever after. Everything about her life was perfect and Ryder more that fulfilled every girl hood fantasy she'd had. After they'd broke the news to Ry's family, they'd driven to New Orleans where her own parents had awaited. Her own mother had been less that surprised though and she'd only asked one question. Are you sure? It had been a question that Simi's been able to answer without any reserve. She's simply never been more sure of anything in her life and her new husband was her very reason for living. Come hell or high water, she would walk the path beside him and do everything she could to be a helpmate and a partner. With that reassurance, Lexi had welcomed her new son in law to the family and their paths had been set. With both of the families backing them, they'd turned their eyes to the future and everything seemed to be falling into place with an ease that was astonishing. So astonishing that Simi had even caught herself pinching her own skin just to make sure the last few week's hadn't been some sort of daydream. And for lone moments, Simi could even pretend there wasn't a lingering darkness that hovered over their hard won happiness. In those moments, she was truly happy and all the world was right. Until it came crumbling down with the realization that they were living on borrowed time. Nights were the worst for her because dreams plagued her exhausted mind. In an effort to keep Ryder from knowing just how badly it was effecting her, she'd taken to lying awake in their bed, watching him sleep. Somethings inside her wanted to memorize every feature, every emotion that floated over his face when he slept. At odd moments, she'd even be seized by the need to feel his warm touch on her skin and she'd wake him from a dead sleep with desperate kisses. Kisses she knew he chalked up to the pregnancy hormones and being newlyweds but were so much more. Turning back to face her handsome husband, Simi felt some of her joy leave even as she nodded her understanding. Suddenly seriously, she padded forward and tucked herself into his arms so that she could bury her face in his neck. She didn't want him to see the worry in her eyes or the fear. He had enough to deal with and she would not allow her own terror to be a burden. "Your right, baby.... I promise not to do anything stupid. You know that I'm not going to do anything to endanger our babies. They are the most important thing in the world to me besides you. You just need to make sure you figure this thing out and come home to us safe and sound. That has to be your first priority.. Cause without you... All this is meaningless." she whispered softly, inhaling his scent and trying to keep her voice steady. "I can handle anything as long as your by my side and I am holding you to the forever and ever thing you promised me in Hawaii!"Then pulling back just a bit, the delicate looking blond gave her husband a wispy smile. "Besides, I'm terrified of heights anyways so your going to have to do the ladder climbing... I don't do ladders for anyone.. NOt even you!!"

❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ Ryder couldn’t help but hold her a little bit tighter. He could feel the slight tremor that ran through her body, just before the magnificent blonde witch made steely her back because she was trying to be brave and not cry. The pregnancy hadn’t been easy on Simi, not with so much stress on her shoulders, and there had been nights since the time in Hawaii that seemed like forever ago when the woman just had to let it out and cry against his chest. The young Winchester held her then and steeled his own will, acting brave despite the fact he felt like a little boy against an army of monsters, and wanted to hide away under the covers with his female forever. Oh yes, the hunter was scared. He didn’t want to see the glowing red eyes of the hounds. He didn’t want to hear them when no one else could; alone in his fear and in his death. Dean Winchester had never spoken to his children of what he experienced in the pit but Ryder had heard whispers and rumors. God how the middle Winchester had wanted to go to his father and confess this fear and demand to know what happens down there if he can’t break the contract. But he couldn’t. He couldn’t because he was so fucking ashamed of making his father have to go through this again; hell, in some ways his own again even if it was his son headed there. Ryder couldn’t admit that he was afraid he wouldn’t be able to find a way out because he wasn’t as good of a hunter as his father, nor half the -father- Dean was because if he failed he was going to make his new wife a widow leave her to raise those babies alone. Or…not alone. Because she would find someone else, eventually, wouldn’t she? Ryder didn’t want to even imagine someone else with his arms around her slender body like his were now, or tasting those feverish kisses he woke up to so many times in the dead of night. He couldn’t fathom his children; born of a never-ending love between a hunter and a witch, calling another man papa. Or another man teaching them to dance, or to shoot. Ryder forced a side-ways smile and found her palm; his stormy grey-blue eyes following the long path of her life lines before lifting to swim in the cerulean depths of her gaze. He threaded his fingers into hers and lifted it to his sheepish grin, kissing it once, twice, three times while he blinked away the grief from his eyes. “I didn’t even show you the bedroom, did I?” He asked her roguishly; flashing her a dimple that made him appear all of sixteen and awkward. The change of subject was just Ryder’s style. He couldn’t bear the thought of tears on the porcelain cheek of his angel, and so he pushed the disquiet deep down and buried it under all the other emotions that plagued him; instead focusing on the ones that made his chest ache in another way; so replete with adoration it throbbed. Ryder chuckled guiltily and brought her hand to his lips for a whispery mouthy embrace again, and let his gaze drift out the window. “It’ll be perfect here, you know. You wont believe how close to the Hunter’s Academy we are.”Yes, the young man had taken many, many things into account before diving headfirst into this adventure, but he knew as soon as he saw it that this was theirs.

The Greatest Magic of All
Now what woman could resist an invitation like that? The banked fire that flared out of his azure eyes and the sudden thickness pressing into her gave no doubt as to where "Showing her the bedroom" would lead. It was a heat that never ceased to amaze her and always lighted a response deep in her middle. Between the two of them, it wasn't so much about sex as the genuine sharing of emotion between them. Every touch, Every caress always carried a spark that made her want to be as close as his very skin.
"Hmmmmm... No you haven't, Mr. Winchester. I believe that you've neglected a very important room in the house..." she teased back, matching his smile with one of her own.
Leaning into the handsome young hunter, Simi gave a happy smile and pulled him down so that she could kiss him. His next words, however, made her pause and she blinked up at him before laughing softly.
"Near the academy, huh? Well, I guess that means I can still teach a bit maybe then. With the babies coming, I'd like to remain home with them but maybe I can fill in for other teachers when they need someone... That way I would at least get out of the house a bit."
Nibbling on her bottom lip, the petite blond gave a happy sigh and then tugged on his hand. An impish grin played about her lips as she pulled in out into the hall and down the hall.
"Now, I think you were about to help me get acquainted with our new bed?"
True to his word, the husband agreed to the demands of his wife and all thoughts of the future where swept aside in their pleasure of the moment. Today was for living and tomorrow could wait.
