Simi's handsome husband, the love of her life and father to be of twin hellions. As the middle Winchester sibling, he's been through hell but his love and loyalty to his family still remains true. Hurt any one of them and come hell or high water, he'll hunt you down.

Ryder woke to damp ground beneath him and the suns warmth upon his tawny skin. Peeling his eyelids open the hunter lifted a hand to shade his vulnerable gaze from the bright light and dragged his tongue across parched lips. It took him a while but finally he pulled his body up from the grass and dirt; trembles crawled up his spine and vibrated through his limbs, the young man could barely stand on his own two feet.
Sometime later he was putting one boot in front of the other and moving forward, albeit slow and unsure. The tortured man wasn’t aware that he was no longer in Hell. He wasn’t aware of anything, really; but he moved instinctually as if drawn by a mesmeric force. He was a corpse, raised from the dead.
As the day aged and the sun grew hot and brighter in the sky the middle Winchester began to regain his comprehension. He became aware that he was thirsty like he had never, ever been in his life and his body ached as if he’d moved a great weight. More so he became aware of the taste of the breeze; so cool and pure, and the heat of the day was as a comforting blanket instead of a searing pyre. It felt so real…
Ryder grew conscious of another ache; one more intense than in his tattered frame and in the feet that had taken so many steps already. It was the one in his chest. Even deeper than that. His very soul.
If the young man had been able to run he would have, but his strength would not allow more than the deliberate stride he kept as he moved through unfamiliar towns and deserted highways. He didn’t stop though he passed windows advertising cold liquid to quench his thirst and other places with the mouth-watering smell of cheeseburgers drifting out. Ryder could not stop. His purpose was so much more significant.
It was late afternoon when the young hunter began to recognize the trees and businesses he passed and the pull on his heart strings grew tighter and the thunder in his chest grew more intense. Despite a weakness he had never experienced the tawny haired man’s pace quickened, and he was nearly sprinting towards his home. Home. He was nearly there. The man inwardly prayed this was not some cruel affliction devised in the twisted mind of one of his tormenters. It felt so real and he needed to see her. To feel her.
When the house came into view a fount sprang from the corners of the man’s grey eyes. A hoarse moan escaped between his chapped lips and he couldn’t move fast enough up the beaten drive, finally collapsing on the porch just in front of the door. Reaching out for the knob, the hunter tried to pull himself up to stand again but he could make it no further than a kneel. He moaned gutturally again and cleared his throat, desperate to find his voice. To call out to her.
“Simi…” he whispered huskily and then coughed, trying once more. “Simi!” This time it was louder; his voice. It drifted through an open window like a living thing, seeking out the source of light shining within the house, calling out to her in soul as much as sound.

Scrapbooking.
Talk about a hobby that Simi never imagined in a million years that she'd be taking up. It did, however, take her mind off other things so she supposed it was a worthy endeavor. Especially since she was putting together a book about Noah and Nevaeh's father.
Seated at the kitchen table, the heavily pregnant blond put down her crafting scissors and placed her chin on a slim palm. Letting out a sigh, she stared at the pictures scattered over the surface of the huge counter and then lovingly reached out to touch one in particular. A soft wistful smile turned up her lips a bit even as grief so deep threatened to bring tears once more to her already tired eyes. The photo was riddled with memories but they were the best kind. Laughing azure eyes gazed at her from a back drop of cool, pacific waters and her heart wrenched in remembrance of the happiness she and Ryder had shared that day.
Their wedding day.
It was only one of the many images that would go into her labor of love for the babies but it was one of her favorites. Pure joy was on both of their faces and it seemed so perfect. It was the way she wanted the twins to see their father and the image that they needed to have of the time their parents had had together. She wanted them to know, no matter what else, they'd been happy together and Ryder had been as happy as she with the knowledge that they would be welcoming two new beings into their family. That their father had loved them with all his heart and hadn't left of his own free will.
Suddenly unable to sit there any longer, Simi awkwardly pushed back from the table before standing up. Heading for the fridge, she took out some juice and then rubbed the center of her back as she took a ragged breath. The babies shifted restlessly in her middle and she could swear they were as uncomfortable as she was in those cramped spaces. Another couple weeks and she would be holding them in her arms. It would be a bittersweet joy but she'd made up her mind to smoother them with extra love, enough for their father too.
Turning back to the table, the young mother to be glanced out the window and suddenly realized it was late afternoon. The sun was beginning to head for its nightly resting place and she'd been intent on her task more the better part of the day. When her stomach growled, she also realized that she'd forgotten to eat anything too but couldn't really work up an appetite anyways. Maybe just a cookie would do her for now.
It was as she turned towards the Hello Kitty cookie jar on the island that she heard something. Something that made her freeze in place and listen with breathless intensity. When it came again, she instinctively recognized it and to many emotions to count warred within her.
Immediately, her heart jumped into her throat and she wanted to rush to the door but logic forced her to think. Anger was the next emotion as reasoning raced against hope. There was no way she could be hearing what she thought she was hearing. What kind of sick ass would torment a pregnant mother to be with her dead husbands voice?
Whipping about with as much grace as she could, Simi grabbed up her handy dandy reliable Hello Kitty water gun and stomped towards the door. Reaching it, she twisted the knob and threw it open, leveling the pistol even as she did so. Words were already tumbling out of her mouth before her mind had time to compute what it was seeing.
"How dare you, you evil son of a bitch!" she practically hissed, looking like a pissed off mama cat ready to claw the eyes outta her tormenter. "You take my husband and now you come back to torment me?? I'm going to send you back to hell where you belong......."
Then, voice trailing off as she took in the tattered man kneeling on her porch, Simi could only stare in shock and shake her head in disbelief. It was Ryder but yet... It couldn't be. There was no way. She'd seen his body. He was dead. This had to be some sort of new trick on the demons part. Some sort of new torture meant to make her lose her mind and leave her babies defenseless.
..... but it looked so much like her husband....and if he was a demon... how the hell had he gotten past the traps? Traps that her family had made sure were functioning just in case of emergencies?
Wavering with indecision, wanting nothing more than to throw herself forward and into his arms, Simi called upon all her training as a hunter's kid and thought beyond emotion. She could not afford to endanger her babies so there was only one way to find out the truth. Raising the gun in her hand, she looked into those beloved azure eyes and muttered a short, "I'm sorry, Ryder, but if your who you say you are, you'll understand why I have to do this." and then shot him right between the eyes.
With Holy Water.
Which only resulted in a clean spot free of dirt and grime running down his visage.
Then, realization that it was truly Ryder set in and the water pistol fell from her limp grasp to hit the ground with a dull thud. Strength left her limbs and she managed to stumbled forward enough that when she sank to the ground, she was hugging the shattered hunter as close as the babies between them would let her.
"Oh GOD!! RY!!! ITS REALLY YOU!!!"she choked out, tears already streaming down her face as she tried to touch him all over and kiss him at the same time. "OH GOD, OH GOD, OH GOD." became her new mantra as she placed hands on each side of his face and kissed him with no heed of the dirt and debrie on his person. There would be time for explanations later but for the moment, Simi just wanted to touch him and know she wasn't dreaming this miracle.

Ryder could feel his lover approaching before he could even see her. It started as a dim glow inside of his core which grew brighter and more temperate as she drew closer; finally erupting as an all consuming fire by the time she burst through the door. This blaze was wholly different than the one that had seared him below. This one gave him strength whereas he thought he had none left within in. It roused him further from the haze he’d been walking through. At her harsh, accusing words and glare the young hunter loosed a strangled sound, though he was far from defeated. Within that pointed glare he could see the hurt beyond the daggers, could feel the ache in her breast as sure if it were his. Because it was his.
Ryder didn’t ache because of the torture he’d had to endure or the time that had been stolen from him during his stint in hell; he ached for the redness in Simone’s bewitching sapphire eyes and the pale streak of tear stain against her porcelain cheek. His own dull gaze fell to the width of her belly, and his heart throbbed with the knowledge his delicate woman had been made to suffer alone as two lives grew within her.
Damn him for causing her so much pain. Damn him to back to the deepest recesses of the pit…
For the briefest moment the daggers gave way to the faintest light of hope, and the breath that was coming out of Ryder fast and ragged was caught in his throat. Simi brought her shaking hand up with a weapon that drew up one corner of the hunter’s lip just barely, and before he was able to confess that he understood, cool holy water was striking the creased skin between his eyes.
It had no effect on him save a slight sway. The man was still weak and the slightest of breezes could have knocked him to the ground.
Steeling him self the best he could Ryder parted his lips to sigh in liberation when the lithe blonde joined him on her knees and her arms came around him in a desperate embrace. It was the only sound he could make as the quiet sobs trembled in his chest and his own limbs wrapped around the woman.
For a moment there was nothing beyond the taste of her lips and the feel of her body against him. Ryder’s eyes welled with moisture which cleansed more dirt from his visage as it fell across his cheeks and mingled with Simi’s. The soft glow inside of him became a powerful shimmer as their souls reunited; the thin gossamer cord fortified as it twisted around the only one that could make him whole.
His Angel.
Reluctantly pulling back so that he could look his wife full in the face Ryder lifted a trembling hand to brush the tears from her cheeks. He released a chaste chortle of joy as he leaned forward; pressing his lips against the damp place his fingertips had just departed. “It’s really me…” He finally managed to choke out; but his voice was barely perceptible and husky and suddenly a beam grew on his face as bright as the glow that had erupted within him. Dropping his gaze to her belly he laughed more audibly, but the sound turned into a quiet moan.
“I’m so sorry babies…” He whispered truthfully to the twins as his palm found the smooth plane of their home. Choking on his sob he lifted his eyes back to her tear-glimmering blue ones. “I’m so sorry baby…”
He found one of her hands with his other palm and put it back on his cheek. His gray eyes drifted back and forth within hers, seeking absolution. "I'm so sorry baby...please...forgive me."

It was funny how a persons entire life could change in a moment. How something as simple as opening the front door could have life altering effects. Lives could be ruined or saved in the blink of an eye and there was never any telling when fate might decide to show her hand. Simi supposed it just went to show that life was an ever twisting journey where nothing was for certain and no matter what... There were still miracles to be had.
And her miracle was there in her arms and she wasn't ever letting him go again. Ever. He was hers. Even death would not part them again, she vowed silently as she carressed the warm skin of her beloved and cried a river of relief, happiness and love.
For a long few minutes, Simi could do nothing but hold Ryder close and struggle to accept that her most fervent desire had come to pass. She didn't know how.. She didn't know why.. and frankly, at the moment... she didn't care, but she was eternally grateful to whatever deity brought it to pass. Her man was home again and that was the only reality that truly mattered for the moment. Everything else could wait.
When Ry pulled away gently, Simi was reluctant to let him go but someone else seemed to want their say. As a fierce kick came, the young mother to be winced and then smiled through her tears as her husbands gaze seemed to meet the call for attention. Strong, if shaky, hands rested on her womb and it about broke her heart to hear her shattered warrior apologize to their babies. Those azure eyes seemed to swim in pain as they swept up to meet her own once more and she was shaking her head in response even before he got his apology out.
"Ryder Winchester..... Don't you dare apologize. You've come back to us and thats the only thing that matters. That and you promising your never going to leave us again.... because then.. then i really would have to let Sebastian kick your ass...." she choked out, trying to inject a note of humor to a situation that was so dark it scared the crap outta her. "I love you, Ryder Winchester.... Nothing and no one is ever going to change that...I ... I don't know what miracle brought you back to me but your mine and I .. I think that we were always destined to be....Evidently even Death agrees......"
Then, brushing as a lock of tawny hair, Simi realized they were still kneeling in the doorway of the house they'd made a home together. Suddenly, a soft, glowing smile spread over her face and she was struggling to her feet. Once there, she held out her hand to her love and beckoned to him.
"Come, my darling....Come with me...... Come inside... Let me fix you something to eat... Clean you up.. Get you to bed where you can rest.... " she whispered, opening her heart, home and life once again to the only man who would ever be able to complete it. "Whatever tomorrow brings, we'll figure it out together... For now, just come home."

The absolution that Ryder had been seeking was there, shining in his wife’s multi-faceted blue eyes. Before she could even respond to his apology he could feel the warmth of her acceptance swathe him in a calming embrace; the tense in his body seemed to fall away just a little more; the walking zombie crossing over the doorstep to the living. And the loving.
God he loved her so much.
Even the sound of her quiet laughter; the forced lightness in her tone helped the young man step out of the hole in the ground to bask in the sunlight. Her words reminded him that he hadn’t just sprung free from hell, but he had come back into the lives of so many people that had lost him. So many that he had lost. The hunter inhaled deeply and let it out slow as he nodded in response to Simi’s proclamation about destiny, though he couldn’t help flinch at the mention of Death. He knew the dark deity had a grudge on his black shoulder about the Winchesters…mainly because his father had annoyed the hell out of him during the apocalyptic events of 2011, and so Ry figured that he wasn’t going to be very happy over his reanimation either.
When his heavily pregnant mate shifted to her feet Ryder did the same. He teetered unsteadily for a moment before gripping the door jamb as well as his woman’s outstretched hand, wishing he had the strength to carry her across the threshold like he’d done on their wedding night. It was strange what a man thought of when he escaped from hell. Little things he’d taken advantage of before…He swore now that he’d savor every single moment. Nothing would be written off as insignificant.
Following behind the seraph as she led them inside, Ryder felt his heart clench once he got an eye full of what she’d done to the place. The beautiful blonde had definitely made the house a home. Not that they hadn’t done some work before…well…just before. Still, Ryder held Simi’s hand lightly as they moved deeper inside; his grey-blue eyes taking in each and every detail. He wondered at how long it had taken her to do all the work and if she’d had any help. His eyes crinkled at the corners and he smiled quiet remembering how he’d made her promise not to get on any ladders while he was gone. The young Winchester was sure that their combined family’s would have helped and watched over the young widow, and his heart jump-started again, feeling all that love manifested within the walls of the home.
The hunter finally stopped within the large airy kitchen, and he leaned tiredly against the butcher block in the center, tugging Simone gently against him. His eyes fell to her belly and a wistful smile was etched across his visage a moment before his regret-filled eyes lifted her to gem-stone ones.
“It seemed like I was there for…well…forever.” he confessed, not wanting to, but needing desperately to release some of the pressure still binding him. “I guess…well…I guess it was less than a year. How long? Until?” Ryder nodded to her belly, still feeling so guilty he had missed most of the pregnancy that he wasn’t sure he deserved to be there for the birth. “They’re healthy?”

There were so many things Simi wanted to say.. So many things she wanted to do. What seemed just right though, was standing there in their homey kitchen just holding on to her love for dear life. How many times had she mourned the loss of not being able to do just that? How many times had she wished desperately to be able to do it again. To many to count, that was how many.
And now.. by some miracle... Ryder was here. In her arms and holding her as if he'd never let her go. Which he damned well better not, she decided even as she felt him gaze down and lay a hand on her swollen stomach.
When he began to talk, it was all Simi could do to hold it together. She hadn't a clue what all he'd experienced down there but she knew it had to have been bad. Hell was hell for a reason and she'd heard horror stories from her own parents about Uncle Dean's time there. To be honest, she wasn't sure her sanity would hold if she allowed herself to dwell on it and she took it as her responsibility to make sure he didn't either.
The babies seemed a perfect excuse for doing just that.
"Um.. just a few more weeks now.... I swear if its any more, I'm not going to be able to fit through the doorways," she whispered, trying to smile brightly at him. "Doctor says they are both doing fine... Ones a bit bigger than the other but I suppose thats to be expected. The last ultrasound was very enlightening..... I'd say at least one of them is taking after the Winchester side of the family. He very seldom sleeps and is always rolling around kicking things."
Placing her hand over his, she searched his face and then raised a hand to cup his cheek. He looked so tired that Simi wasn't sure what comfort to offer first.
"Are you hungry? Can I make you something to eat or would you like to clean up first? I suppose I should call your family..... " she continued, worrying her bottom lip. "I just can't believe your here.. God, Ry.... I've missed you so much.. I thought I'd never feel your arms around me again....."
