Come, break me down [/blockquote] ****************************************** Emily was deep in her bubble; enjoying the music deafening her inner ear by now, the hand still offered a "support" for the head, the clapping of the foot stooped and she was now a bit more focused on an article describing a bit more the case that lead her to that reclusive and small town. There was nothing wrong with small towns, Emily grew up in big towns and now she was installed in New Orleans, another big town, her heart will always stay in big town, big building and pollution, that was all. The waitress left the milkshake in front of the newspaper, making Emily raise her eyes; this time she did smile, moderating her voice tone knowing that you tend to yell while listening to music "Thank you!" The waitress smiled back but said nothing; Emily closed the paper and approached the Glass revolving it with the stroke at the same time. One sip at it and she felt in heaven, even closed her eyes a bit to enjoy it better; When her eyes opened, Emily saw that the girl from the couple seating next to her was showing her a cell phone; Emily's first instinct was to touch her pocket, thinking that hers fell from it and because of the music she couldn't hear it. When Emily looked at the girl again, she realized that she was actually trying to communicate with Emily. Waving one of her sweet smiles, Emily looked at her and replied in ASL "I don't think so, it's my first time in town...Why?"

While others looked up at the dinging signal of another entering, Russ’s attention was fully on Hope. It was probably a little counter productive to those that apparently thought he was trying to hit on her, though she was certainly cute enough to be worthy of way more than him, but it was mostly because he was trying to avoid any embarrassment if he missed something she ‘said’. Looking down at her message, he tried to hide a subtle grin. He actually never knew what ASL stood for. He didn’t even know that it varied for different countries! Way to make things even more difficult for a person he thought, as his coke was set down in front of him. Temporarily distracted with opening his straw and putting it into his drink, Russ was a little surprised with the next message that came his way. His brow furrowed when he considered it. Didn’t she mention something about knowing everyone here? He thought it a little peculiar that she should draw particular attention to the blonde on her other side, but the truth was so far from his mind that it accounted to little more than odd. Taking another drink, Russ spied the conversation silently shifting between the girls. When the blonde responded with sign language, the irony of feeling left out made Russ laugh to himself. He thought how strange life could turn out sometimes. When did natural function, normalcy as it were, make you the odd man out? Finishing his soda, Russ left cash to cover the soda and tip on the table, leaving as unobtrusively as he had slipped into town. [I'm anal about hanging around in threads after my character has altered a bit, so I just had him leave; feel free to hit me up if you guys wanna start something with me down the road. ] -FADE OUT-
