”You got mobbed by cats? How‘d that happen?” She couldn‘t help asking when receiving an answer like that. Did a crowd of cats follow him home one day when he was a kid and freak him out? She couldn‘t think of what else it could be.
About the small dogs however, she understood that. She disliked them for pretty much the same reason Curran did. “Oh god, you hit that right on the head pretty good there. I hate those things too; although I‘d make an exception if the dog was a Scotty. I always loved Toto in the Wizard of Oz.” She blushed a little as she said that, feeling somewhat dorky for saying it.

Still, he had a pretty good imagination, and his mouth was moving before he even realised it. ”Ah well, I was helping out in the pound and the cat girl was out so I was taking in their food... and they pounced. ” He grinned, leaving the rest to her imagination. But ye, he liked that lie, liked the way it flowed – plus it made him sound pretty heroic. Or charming. Well, either way it worked well – Curran was a terrible flirt, and didn’t the female population of the town know it.
”You know, i’ve never watched it all the way through? My sister and ma love it, but I can’t sit and watch the whole thing. I get distracted.”

She looked a little confused at the explanation of the cat girl. Did he mean a girl that had a million cats or an actual cat? She just decided not to get into it. It was quite a story though. Curran sure had an imagination, that was for sure.
While listening to him talk about the Wizard of Oz, she slowly started to creep in direction of the cats as she still held one of his bags. If she kept him talking maybe he wouldn‘t realize he was about to be faced with some little furry critters. “You‘re kidding, right? Boy…you must have a serious case of ants in your pants if you never saw it all at least once.”

He hadn’t realised he had actually called Lyddie the cat girl aloud, it had been nothing more than nickname for the girl he had used to date, and it tied in with his story a little – she did work in a cat sanctuary. It was just the time scale was wrong, for he was telling her it had happened when he was a lot younger. Still, he shrugged it off and explained away his lie. With a few simple words – all too aware of this girl was heading, leading him towards the back of the store. Hey, this kid had ADHD and was part wolf – he noticed things about other people and their environments, you would never notice. He was just Amiable enough to go along with it.
”ye, the cat girl, Lyddie. She fed and looked after the cats in the sanctuary, whilst i was the dog guy, and another girl looked after the horses.”

Selena found it amusing that Curran chose to speak about the topic that she had ignored to question. Well, whatever kept him from wandering out the door of the pet store. He‘d have to grab his bag from her hand first if he did so. And that didn‘t mean she‘d give in easy herself.
“That‘s sweet of them. I love animals too. My mother and I grew up with liking cats more then dogs and other pets though. We had a rabbit once but it was so mean you couldn‘t feed it without it trying to bite you.” She shook her head as she walked, recalling very little about it since she‘d been so young back then. “We ended up bringing it to a animal shelter.” And from there, it probably ended up getting put to sleep. Serves the evil bunny right.

Well he could handle walking past the cages, as long as she didn’t start piling them into his arms to hold whilst she pulled out another, as long as they didn’t start hissing and spitting at him, all would be fine. Otherwise, it might be all he could do not to turn fury and start chasing them around the shop – when you were loupe garoux you didn’t just turn into a wolf, it was part of you.
“Ah ye, none of my family are all that big on cats – felines in general actually.”

{I'm sorry I took so long to respond. I had some personal issues going on I had to deal with.}
"That's a shame," She spoke as they grew nearer the cat section of the pet shop. "Cats can be very affectionate and awfully entertaining if you get the right cat." She went on saying before stopping before a cage that held a couple Persian cats. Her face scrunched up as she tried not to look too appalled. Glancing at Curran though she chuckled. "I don't care what anyone says. A cat that looks like it got hit in the face with a frying is never cute."

Of course this was all metaphorical, there was not truly a small wolf caged within his chest – but it sure felt that way. ”Eh, I maintain that is dislike all cats, and they all dislike me”He grinned, and as if to prove his point one such feline stuck his paw through its bars and took a swipe at him, claws extended. ”See”He pointed out, grinning as he took a step back from the cage.

Selena grabbed Curran by his arm to pull him further away from the cage as he explained his dislike for cats. “I guess you proved your point…unless that cat just has a bad attitude. I would too if I was locked up in a cage.” She let go of his arm and turned towards another cage that held a couple calico kittens that were curled up, fast asleep. “Look at these ones. They‘re sleeping,” She pointed out before sticking her finger in the cage to rub one of them gently on the head. “How precious.”

The cat had raked his skin, but as he smudged away the three lines of blood they had already healed, disappeared without trace. He bared his teeth at the kitten, and turned to look at the new ones. No. Even sleeping he still didn’t like the, and he doubted if there was any way he would soon change his mind. “Uhh... ye. Cute?” he offered hesitantly, smiling at her a little.
