And it had nothing to do with the way in which she said it – the joy of finding such simple pleasure in a drink. Well, he could see how she might get on with young children anyway – Curran could practically smell her energy, her eagerness her happiness, beneath her perfume, mixed with something he couldn’t place, and so far was simply putting down to her soap or something.
” I guess we’ll find out,”He grinned as they finally reached the counter. The waitress was a girl he knew from around the block, a pretty redhead whom he had chased a few years back, dated a couple of times even, and the two were still on flirty friend terms – all in playful jest of course. ”Hello miss elf, ” he smirked, winking at her and flicking the top of the redheads pointed hat as it hung down over her face. Two elf ears pointed out the side, and he couldn’t help but grin at them.
”Hey Curran” The red head rolled her eyes and grinned straight back, sticking her tongue out at him, before looking at Simi. ”What can i get you and you’re friend today?” She smiled, looking between them.
”I’ll have whatever was freshly made this morning... and the big one of a.... ooh! Eggnog Latte sounds good. And whatever miss Simi here would like” he girnned and did a twirl of his hand, bowing slightly as he handed over the floor to the blonde and let her order.

Simi didn't miss the banter between the two and a smile spread over her face as Curran turned back to her. His order had made her brows go up but she simply laughed. From the corner of her eye, she caught the curious look the girl shot between the two of them and shook her head slightly before placing her own order. "I'll take a triple chocolate mocha with extra whipped cream and cinnamon on top, please?" she said, practically shivering in glee at the very thought of it. "Oh, and make that an extra large... Seeing as its extra cold out there tonight. I might need the extra warmth."As the little "elf" bounced off to see to their drinks, Simi turned back to her companion and leaned on the counter. Her eyes danced with mischief as she sized him up before opening her mouth. "So.... now that we've exhausted what we both do and our current state of affairs.... What shall we talk about? Do you have a girlfriend?? I do... or .. a boyfriend at least, not a girlfriend.. I really don't swing that way... Hes a couple years older than me and into cars and such...." she chirped out, wrinkling her nose a bit as she almost stuck her foot in her mouth. "Other than that... not much exciting about me... My mom runs a couple nightclubs and my dad .. hes a corporate shark you could say... spends alot of time flying around the world seeing to the family business."Just as she finished, the waitress brought their cups and they paused to pay for them before stepping away and allowing the next person in line to hurry forward. "I have an older brother but... Hes a bit.. mad at me at the moment I think... We used to be really close until.... well.. some bad crap happened to me and i didn't tell him...." as she spoke, her expression lost some of its sparkle but she made an effort to brush it off. "Anyways, hes on the road a lot and can't be reached so I haven't talked to him in a bit.... "

you heard that i was trouble , BUT YOU COULDN'T RESISTJ U S T T A K E A B I T E L E T M E S H A K E U P Y O U R W O R L D - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Well, of course there was banter – Curran had dated the little coffee elf for a few months a year or so back, and he, with his charm and goofish ways, had a way of breaking things off so that he remained friends with them half the time. Some of his guy friends thought he was ridiculous... but you know, these girls baked annnd he still got discount in here, so it was all good in the hood, if ya know what i mean.
He raised his eyebrows at her order, deciding that this too sounded very, very good, and he may have to indulge the next he came. One of the great things about being part wolf was his metabolism... he could eat all day and not gain a pound, muahahhahaa.
He was every girl’s nightmare really.
”Girlfriend? Meh.... naaaw not right now. Unfortunately most of the girls round here don’t trust me as far as they can throw me.”Curran shrugged, an impish grin lightning his features. What he said was true, most of the girls didn’t because he had dated them, or dated someone they knew for some short period of time..... if he wasn’t careful he was going to get a reputation as a player. ”And damn... already taken. Reckon i could takeyour guy on, or should i just back down now?”he asked, the impish smile still there as they found their way over to some couches and sat down, and Curran snuggled into the upholstery.
Hey, you seen how dogs like their comforts, and Curran was no different.
He listened to her words about ehr brother, and his eyebrows knitted together. ”Ye, ” he said, softly ”I get the whole missing sibling thing. My sisters been away for nearly a year now”he shrugged, as if the subject was nothing, and swift changed the topic of conversation. ”So, Simi.... other than pick up random people in book stores, what do you do for fun?”
