Well, Kay definitely knew how to charm a demon, didn’t she? With a very unhappy sound, he watched as his friend ranted and snarled at the demon and simply stood back to enjoy the show. This was going nowhere fast, and his patience was quickly wearing thin. The dumbass demon wanted him to sell his soul for INFORMATION? What kind of unfair crap was that? He felt a little insulted that Kay would think him so stupid as to agree to such a one sided deal.
Nah, he was more into getting what he wanted by more…extreme measures. He could wait, banter and tease Mara with the morsel that was a Winchester’s soul, but in the end? In the end, he wasn’t adverse to tricking her, just as she’d tricked countless other people in her black little life…and when she was his, he’d tear her to pieces.
She didn’t think he could stand by and watch her host get slaughtered…but little did she know that he was more than willing to do the slaughtering. He supposed that he’d learned that little tidbit from his father; there was nothing stronger than blood.
It was really too bad for the possessed girl that she wasn’t his kin.
With an air that bellied the chaos practically rolling about in his gut, he moved forward until he was standing next to Kay. There was just something about all the growling on her part that made him want to smack her upside the head AND hug her until she popped…but all of that would have to wait until much later. Gently, as if half expecting her to reel around and punch him in the face, he put a hand on the feisty woman’s shoulder and gave her a little shake of his head.
”Calm down, Kay; there’s gonna be no soul-dealing tonight. And especially not for a fucking name,” Turning back to Mara, he took another step forward, until he was subtly placing his body between her and Kay. Who knew what a pissed off demon was capable of? ”As for you…bitch, do you really think I’m gonna give up something so valuable for a name? Nah, for my soul, you’d have to break my brother’s deal. Maybe ensure him that no other demon would ever deal with him again.”
He eyed her, head tilting slightly as he watched her. His voice turned cold, and there was evidence of the anger inside in the obvious twitching around his jaw. ”Now…put. The knife. Away. You hurt that girl, and I’ll make it my life’s work to hunt you down when this’ all over. Forget the soul; what else do want for that name?”

Mara was done with them.
In truth, she was a little disappointed that she wasn't going to be able to get what she wanted out of Ben, but it wasn't the end of the world for her. Mara knew that these Winchesters had resources, and friends, and that eventually they'd find out who held Riley's contract. And when they did, they'd do everything in their power to take said demon out.
Hell, they might even succeed.
So, when Mara lowered the blade, it wasn't because Ben the Hero had told her too, but rather because she really didn't feel like harming her vessel. Iris was a fine catch, and a scar across the throat would make things difficult when trying to lure in potential... business partners. Plus she hated the idea of having to abandon ship and seek out a new host. Doing so would mean an indeterminable time of formlessness, and Mara hated not having a body, even for a short amount of time.
"No soul," she said softly, taking a few steps back away from them, "no deal. Sorry guys, but you're just going to have to find a different way to get that name." She shrugged, tucking the knife away safely. "You had your chance. If you change your mind, you know where to find me..."
Turning her back on the hunters, Mara looked at them over her shoulder and offered them a sweet smile before vanishing into the night.
((Finished.))
