Would wonders never cease? Pandora literally thought her jaw might drop to the ground when Maric asked if he could stay around. Wasn't he frightened by the walking disaster she'd shown herself to be? Why wasn't he fleeing out the door as fast as he could? Didn't he have any sense of self preservation? Really, it seemed to good to be true but Pandora wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth. It wasn't in her to chase away such a good looking gentleman.. especially when he was seemingly flirting with her!
"Um.... well..." she started, thinking quickly. "I suppose it would be all right... If you don't mind the couch or anything. Since you saved my life tonight, I can hardly accuse you of being a serial killer or something. If you were going to do me in, it would have been simpler to just walk away from what you saw, right?"
Watching him go through the motions of making the drink, Pandora plopped her chin in her head and marveled at the sight. A male... here in her own kitchen... who wasn't haplessly falling all over himself or managing to get himself injured by her own follies. It was nothing short of amazing really if you thought about it.
Unbidden, that little voice chimed in its own two cents and its wonderings weren't nearly so innocent. It caused her gaze to drop to his posterior and she nearly poked her own eye out when she abruptly realized what she was ogling.
Oh dear lord.
She was seriously beginning to think someone needed to call those nice doctors in the white coats. She was loosing her mind if she was seriously thinking what she'd just been thinking. The last guy she'd tried to seduce into her bed had ended up with a broken arm. Just cause this guy seemed to be fairing better... Well, that didn't mean it was worth the risk.
Besides... HELLO, Jackson!! The dude might have saved her life but he was a COMPLETE stranger. When it came down to it, she didn't know him from Adam. And she'd just told him he could stay in her apartment.
Yup, her libido had DEFINITELY out maneuvered her brain on this one. Strangely thought, she didn't find herself to concerned about it. Oh yeah, she was definitely in trouble.
