God, it was so cliche but yeah, here Will was hanging out in a coffee shop....a cop in a coffee shop, imagine that. But man, was he dragging ass tonight. He needed this fourth cup of coffee of the night. He needed it so bad. And he still had...god, it was another two hours on his shift. How would he survive?
He ran his hand heavily over his face as he leaned back in the booth before gesturing the waitress over and having her pour another cup of coffee for him. As he took the first sip he made yet another mental note to never, never stay out until three in the morning the night before a shift ever again. He was getting too old for that crap.
It was quiet tonight. Him and his partner had only had a few calls. Nothing major or super important. The most they had seen that night was a domestic disturbance call. No real excitement. That was fine with him, though. Will didn't have the energy. He and his partner had been sitting at the coffee shop for about fifteen minutes now. The door opened a few times. It was one of those doors with the annoying, perky lil bell on it that would jingle every time someone came in. Will wasn't in the mood for the damn perky bell. "Hey, can we get goin'? I need to move." His partner nodded and they both got up to leave, holding open the door for a couple of people that came straggling in.

Today had seemed like any other day to Lacey. She is new around here, and well seemed to be fitting in rather nicely. Yes, she had to move around again after the mess she got herself in with Dane, and is trying to make a fresh start with herself, but she has a feeling she really hadn’t heard the last from Dane and his sister seemed like a sweet thing. She didn’t get why he had wanted to harm her so much. It was mind blowing really. She wanted to get away from her family and here he had wanted to torture and break his. She didn’t know what would head her way next.
She had taken a few personal shopper jobs for some elderly people who cannot shop for themselves. She does try to do well and stay under the radar of hunters, but sometimes it is just not possible with the video cameras and all. It was a reason she loved big sunglasses. She had this strange feeling that she was being watched or followed and decided to make a pit stop on her nightly stroll into a coffee shop. She had thought the door had just been opened so she could go right in, but man was she wrong it was two police offers heading out the door, and she had been her own klutzy self and walked right into him.
“OH MY GOD!!! I am so sorry.. I wasn’t watching where I was going and I thought the door was open and you can just waltz in.” She had rambled nervously since he was an offer of the law. That and she was in a hurry to get in here because she thought she was being followed, perhaps this would make whoever is stalking her walk away. “Your not hurt or anything. I didn’t spill your coffee.” She had asked, hoping that she didn’t spill it on him… She so didn’t want to get a ticket or anything for assaulting a police officer by not watching where she was walking.

Will jumped back as the coffee flew. Thankfully most of it landed on the ground at his feet, though there was a bit that landed on his pants. He sighed to himself and growled lightly until he looked up and saw the expression on the face of the girl that had bumped him. She looked horrified and a little scared and Will just couldn't bring himself to be mad at her. "It's fine. I shouldn't drink so much damn coffee anyway." He attempted to give her a friendly smile just to ease her nervousness. She really looked freaked out.
Will's attention momentarily went to his partner beside him as the guy laughed at the situation. Will couldn't resist reaching out and giving him a playful punch in the arm with a smirk before looking back at the girl in front of him. "Are you ok? I didn't get you with the coffee, did I?" It had been hot and he was hoping she wasn't hurt.

Lacey had been completely horrified that she spilled the man’s coffee, and he wasn’t just any man he was an officer of the law and she was scared she could be locked up, and if that were to happen well then some of the ‘ others’ could find her. She isn’t one of them shifters that killed for the fun of it… She was different and unique, and ran from them… She listened to his words and how he shouldn’t drink so much damned coffee anyways. She was glad he was okay. Perhaps she wouldn’t be arrested or anything for spilling coffee on him… was that considered assaulting an officer? She really didn’t know and seemed to be a little less tense about that now.
His partner seemed to be having a good laugh about it, and it made her blush a little more and was embarrassed she has done something like this. The man did give his partner a little punch in the arm for laughing. An honest mistake could have happened to anyone. She wasn’t paying attention because she thinks she is being followed and wanted to duck out in here for a little bit… The officer she had spilled the coffee had asked her if she was okay, and she blinked a little… She didn’t think she had gotten any coffee on her.
“No, I am fine… None got on me… I am sorry again for spilling it. I am such a spaz. I didn’t see you and rushed in thinking someone was following me.” She said cautiously looking to see if anyone was. She had the feeling in her gut that she was being watched and it didn’t sit well with her at all… “Can I at least get you another coffee to replace the one I plowed you over with?” She had asked… It was the least she could do right? “ I am not going to be hauled off to jail or anything am I?” She was worried about that. “I am Lacey, btw,” she had said introducing herself.
