Chey watched as the cards were laid upon the table in front of her. She literally watched in awe. Now that she had some sort of belief in Aubrie’s abilities, Chey was kind of excited. As Aubrie’s eyes glazed over, Chey’s own grew wider, watching her with intent. Chey gawked at her in shock as she went on about experiencing hell, despite the fact she didn’t completely know what she was talking about, her families experience with hell were enough to shock Chey. But then Aubrie really got her. She spoke about something good, something Chey had to give up. Her heart stopped in her chest for a moment, tears starting to stream down her face. She quickly rushed to push them away. She had to at least make it through this reading. As Aubrie said about moving on to the present, Chey’s hand balled into a fist, raising in front of her mouth as she coughed gently, almost as though she was coughing the pain away and she nodded gently. “Okay..” Everything felt awkward in her chest but she knew she’d get through this. She had to.

Staring off into space, her eyes still glazed over, Aubrie went on.
"The present, for you, seems to hold as much heartache and pain as the past," Aubrie said, her voice sounding hollow and distant. Her brow furrowed as she struggled to sort through the various images and memories that assailed her as she sought to read Chey, the cards amplifying her natural abilities of insight and precognition. There was so much going on in the girl's life right now, that it was difficult for Aubrie to pick the things she felt were most important...
"You feel like your entire world is falling down around you, and you're stuck trying to keep it all from collapsing." A slight, sad smile crept across Aubrie's lips. "Ah, you come from a family of hunters... such a life is never easy, is it? There are several important males in your life... Brothers, your father, and... another. You love them greatly, but you feel that this isn't enough, apparently, as they are constantly leaving you behind and running head long into danger, seemingly with no concern for their own well-being... One you love deeply, a brother I think, has seemingly abandoned you, and left you broken and alone."
Aubrie paused. She'd had dealings with hunters in the past, and had even taken a stab, once, at being one herself. They were all a bit unstable, though most wouldn't admit it, and they were all so involved in their own troubles, in the job, that they seldom thought about what effect their actions had on those they cared about. Poor Chey, being surrounded by them... Aubrie shook her head and went on.
"You've lost much, and gained little, and your heart is broken. Not for the first time... And, probably, not for the last. But that is yet to be seen, as we move on--" Her hand drifted to hover above the next row of cards --"to the future..."

Well ho-lee shit. This girl was good. This girl was REALLY good. This girl was so accurate that it actually scared Chey. Though, despite the fact Chey knew what she was being told, it hurt to have it confirmed to her. As Aubrie spoke about Chey’s relationships with hunters it was like, in her voice you could hear a sense of… understanding. You could tell that she didn’t just know there was heartache in her life, she could understand it. The small shake of Aubrie’s head only lead to further confirm what she was sure she knew. She’d always known she was screwed. Her family was practically cursed. If you were born a Winchester, you live the life of a Winchester and the life of a Winchester was never fun. As Aubrie told her that her heart was breaking, she gently clicked her tongue, nodding gently as her hands moved together, gently scratching the back of one nervously. She didn’t even mean to but she gently whispered out “Ain’t that the truth.” Aubrie took her attention once more by moving on to the future. Now Chey was definitely listening. The sceptic within her was long gone and the answers that Chey had searched so desperately for, were within Aubrie’s reach. Literally. God, this girl was good, so good. So good that thinking about the possibility of Aubrie telling her things wouldn’t get better practically made her stomach churn. She was here now, there was no going back. She wanted to have hope, to be optimistic, but that definitely wasn’t the Winchester way.

This was it.
Even in her entranced state, Aubrie felt a bit worried. No two people ever reacted to their possible futures the same, even if their lives were fairly normal and straightforward. Chey's life, of course, wasn't, which made things even more difficult. Delving into the many possible futures that awaited the young woman was going to be tricky, probably one of the more difficult readings that Aubrie had done. Still, cartomancy was one of her few gifts that was actually strong enough for her to use well, and under her control enough to be useful, and she knew she'd be able to get the job done regardless.
Before speaking, Aubrie let her mind drift along in the murky darkness that represented the future, or rather, the shadows of many possible futures. On all sides of her, from within the inky blackness, Aubrie heard voices, all of them speaking at once, creating a cacophony that would have driven most people mad. She'd done this a thousand times, though, and had long since learned to drown out those voices that represented the least likely scenarios. Instead, she focused her mental power to zero in on those sensations and sounds that were the most probably likelihoods.
Immediately, several things called out to her.
"I have to begin, Chey, by warning you that what I see in these cards does not represent what is going to happen, but rather what may happen. I'm sure you know that the future is ever changing, and every move we make today has the potential to alter what may or may not occur." It was the standard disclaimer that Aubrie gave to each of her clients, but in this case she felt it was particularly important, due to the nature of Chey's life.
"With that said," Aubrie went on, "we can really begin." Falling silent for a moment, the psychic let her mind weave together the fragments of visions and conversation that she knew to be the most likely possible futures. There were a lot to sift through, but Aubrie felt confident that she'd chosen wisely.
A warm smile spread across her lips.
"Oh, Chey," she said softly. "Something precious to you, something that you lost, will be returned to you... But this will signal the beginning of a dark time for your family. I see much turmoil, and much heartache, but it will pass, though it may not seem that way at first." Her brow furrowed, and she went on in a hushed tone. "Beware the wolf in sheep's clothing, Chey. Many who would come to hurt your family would do it in the guise of those who would be your friends or loved ones."
She shuddered, having caught a brief glimpse once again of Hell, the Hell that she'd seen earlier when reading Chey's past. This time, though, the promise of Hell wasn't for Chey, but for another... Aubrie couldn't get a firm grasp of the vision though, and she was unable to divine more from it than that. Forcing her way through these dark and sorrowful visions, Aubrie found herself suddenly standing in the midst of a bright, warm light, with the murmuring voices of loved ones and family all around her.
Chey's loved ones, of course, but the feeling of immediate comfort and relief was the same regardless.
"Chey... You've heard the phrase 'It's always darkest before the dawn' right? Well, I can promise you this: the night may seem like it will last forever, and you may feel disheartened and alone... But the dawn that is to follow is brighter and warmer than any I've seen before." She smiled genuinely, sighing. "You will suffer, but you will be stronger for it..."
Aubrie closed her eyes, letting exhaustion wash over her as she disengaged her psychic gifts. This reading had been particularly draining, and all she wanted right now was a long, hot bath to relax. She wasn't quite done yet, though, and she opened her eyes to watch Chey closely, gauging her reaction to the reading.
