A BRIEF CHARACTER DESCRIPTION
Delilah is, in a word, complicated. She was born part of a legacy, to be something of greatness. The middle sibling with a loving mother and a huge heart, she was just a happy child that wanted to learn and be a part of everything. While her elder sister wanted to go off and play and do her own thing, Delilah liked to help her mother in the kitchen or put her little sister to bed. She was probably too influenced by the words of her mother though, the way her mother used to tell her she was just like her, strong and brave... That was what Delilah always felt she had to be.... More so after her mother was murdered when she was six years old. She remembered everyone around her crying, she remembered Paige shouting and screaming and Tula being completely inconsolable, but she just sat there, trying her best at six years old to sooth her baby sister and make her big sister see that it was going to be okay. That feeling of always having to be okay never went away, not even as she grew older. Years after her mother passed, with no one ever been found or convicted of her murder, Delilah started to have strange dreams about the events that surrounded her mothers death, but it was upon confronting her father to ask about them that things turned nasty and Delilah almost ended up in the same place as her mother.... The ground. Once it came out that her father was the one that killed her Mom, he was sent to jail. Her sister was awarded custody of Delilah and Tula, being that Delilah was barely sixteen and Tula still ten, but it was a couple of months later that Paige decided she'd rather be off living her dreams than taking care of the family, so she left Tula in Delilah's more than capable hands and moved to LA. Delilah was fighting to get on with her life, finding it harder once she'd stopped going to school and starting spending all her time at home, so she made a pact with Tula, she'd be there 99% of the time, but Thursday nights were hers. One of these nights, Delilah met Stuart. A married man, clearly older than her, but someone who seemed like he just needed someone to talk to. Even when she walked with him back to hers that night, she never intended what happened, she never thought she'd find herself having an affair with a married man, let alone falling in love with him, but it happened. Before she knew it she was so in love with the guy that every time he went back to his wife, she swore she could feel her heart break. Their affair soon came out into the open however when she found out she was expecting a child and went to tell him, his wife overheard their conversation but more than that, revealed the secrets Delilah had been keeping from him. When she became convinced that he didn't want her anymore, Delilah did something she swore she'd never do... She ran. She couldn't cope with the pain of it all, so without even telling him about the child she was expecting, she left town, she did try and come back for him but convinced she had no hope, she just went off to make a life on her own. After her son was born, she called Stuart and handed the little bundle over, disappearing again and not letting herself be found by anyone. She did whatever it took to get money and whenever she became attached to a place, she took that as a cue to run.
