TROUBLE

Saturday night and the place was rocking. Stepping inside the rough and rowdy biker bar, Jessica Coulter was glad she'd decided to wear her black leather pants, a blood red chemise under a black vest and her ass kicking boots. She had a feeling in this crowd, she might need the freedom they gave her if things got out of hand. The short leather mini's some of the girls wore would have put her at a decided disadvantage and that was something she made a point never to be at.
Observing the crowd for a moment, the young woman went through her game strategy and then pasted on a smile. Rumor had it that a certain hunter with knowledge of the a certain monster liked to lurk here on his down time. She was here to find out just what it was he seemed to think he knew and figure out if it actually had any bearing on the search she was attempting to pull off.
With her chocolate colored locks pulled up on the side but left to fall down her back in a waterfall of lush curls, Jessie hoped she'd be able to charm the information she needed out of her prey. Looks always seemed to have the power to weaken a mans resolve and she wasn't above taking advantage of that fact if it got her what she wanted. However, if that didn't work, she was always willing to take a shot at the other too.
Looking around the crowded place, the huntress arched a brow and then headed for the bar. Not seeing the object of her search, she cozied up to the counter and ordered a double shot of Jack. Bless the Heavenly father for at least getting one thing right. Jim, Jack, and Jose were a girls best friends after a week from hell like she'd had.
When the man behind the bar slid a shot glass in front of her, she tossed it back and ordered another along with a beer chaser. The guy beside her turned to give her a leer but the look on her face must have given him second thoughts as he paled and turned back to the makeup plastered wench on his other side.
Grinning a bit wickedly, she took another double and then headed back through the joint towards the pool tables. Even though she was here on business, that didn't mean she couldn't have a little fun now did it? A bit of extra cash in her pocket wouldn't hurt her feelings any and the poor saps at the far table looked like they were just itching to lose some pocket change.
Approaching the corner, she made a show of sliding on to an empty chair by a small table. The stools were tall enough that her feet were off the ground and she crossed her legs and took up an age old feminine pose. As the dudes eyes shot over to her, she took her drink and then sipped from her beer. From there the rest was childs play as the leader seemed to make a decision and approached her with an arrogant smirk.
"Hey little lady... Whats a fine looking woman like yourself doing sitting here all alone?"
"Oh Please... Dude.. SERIOUSLY?" she thought to herself as the words intruded on her thoughts.
Resisting the urge to roll her eyes, Jessie instead widened her eyes and gave him a dazzling smile that seemed to be all innocence.
"OH.. I'm sorry.... I was just having a drink... Am I disturbing you? I've found myself fascinated with the game of pool but I've never really learned to play much."
Laughing, the man stepped closer.
"Thats no problem, sweet thing. I'd be happy to show you whatever it is you want to know."
"OH yeah, you big dumb ox, I just bet you would" Jess thought to herself even as she giggled and batted her eyelashes at him. Raising her voice to a coo she said aloud. "Oh REALLY?? WOULD YOU?? I would ADORE THAT!"
Puffing up like a big stupid rooster, the man cast a grin over his shoulder at his companion and Jess supressed the urge to snort. These sorts were always to easy. As he turned back to her, the waitress approached and after asking her what she was drinking, the man ordered them all new drinks and then helped her off the stool so that she could "have a closer look" at the game table.
As the night progressed, Jessie played the idiotic female to the big brawny male. Losing the first game, she presented herself as an avid listener and then gradually upped her game. Two games later and $50 bucks on the table, she had settled into a pattern and managed to keep it interesting enough that the men didnt seemed to suspect anything but close enough she could easily manipulate the end results.
It really wasn't all that hard since the men seemed to be paying more attention to her cleavage and the curve of her ass than the game. Their constant innuendo's made her want to smack some other balls with her stick but she refrained for the sake of keeping their image of her intact until to late.
It simply amazed her how some people couldn't seem to look beyond a pretty face and always assumed that a girl was stupid just because she happened to be born with the luck of having good features. However, since it worked to her favor most of the time, she decided to just chalk it up to their own stupidity.
Making sure to keep the men's attention focused on something BESIDES how she held her cue or studied her shots, she deliberately leaned over the table and gave her rear a little shake as she tapped the cue ball and sent a solid sliding into the corner pocket.
Grinning as if proud of herself, she turned to see the two men's eyes snap back upwards to her face and then pretended to be to dense to realized what they'd been doing.
"I DID IT!" she squealed. "Talk about beginners luck! It must be that you two are such wonderful teachers!"
Having their ego stroked did the trick once again and Jessie turned away from them to move around the table. Hiding the smirk on her face, she eyed the eight ball and settled over the table once more.
Sometimes, hustling pool was WAY to easy.
Over the years, the huntress had learned that people never saw anything they didn't want to see and the best place to hide was right out in the open.
Drawing her cue back with a quick, decisive stroke, she nailed the eight ball hard and watched as it bounced off the side, rolled to the left and then easied down the bumper right into the pocket. Just the way she liked it.
"OH MAN!!! WOULD YOU LOOK AT THAT??? I WON!!!" she grinned gleefully before turning her gaze to the men.
As she did so, she saw a flicker of something that made her glance at the bar but nothing familiar popped out. Turning her attention back to the big guy, she saw him frowning and then watched as he looked from the table to her and back again.
"Well, hell..." she thought an instant before the con was up. "showtime!"
Instantly angry, the man moved forward and grabbed her arm. Stiffening, she glanced down and then smiled evilly.
"You've got five seconds to remove your hand from my arm before I break it. Manhandling a woman is never the way to get you what you want."
"You've got some explaining to do, babe. I think you tricked us and you need to do some apologizing for trying to play us."
Pretending to think a moment, the pretty brunette tilted her head and tapped her foot before shaking her long locks.
"You know.... As much as I'd like to be able to explain why your intelligence is that of Bigfoot... I'm afraid I don't have small enough words for you.... You see... Neanderthals were never the brightest crayons in the box."
Then, before he could react to that, she made a swift move with one hand that had him hissing in pain and letting go of her other arm to freeze in his tracks.
"And for you information... I'm not your babe.... Address me like that again and I'll make sure you never have the chance to father little Neanderthals again..... Got me?"
When he simply squeaked, she gave him a smile and eyed his friend.
"Now... I"m leaving... either of you try to stop me and I'm going to kick your asses from here to Mars. Understood?"
She could see they wanted to argue so she let her hand squeeze tighter and the man's face went white.
"WE UNDERSTAND! WE UNDERSTAND!"
Nodding, Jessie gave them both a smile and then let go of her grip and stepped away.
"Well, its been real and its been fun but I can't say its been real fun. I'd say its been a pleasure but we all know that would be a lie so.... I think I"m just going to go grab another drink and then make my way home." [/blockquote]

Where are the people that accused me? The ones who beat me down and bruised me. They hide just out of sight, Cant face me in the light. Theyll return but Ill be stronger. God, I want to dream again, Take me where Ive never been. I want to go there, this time Im not scared. Now I am unbreakable, its unmistakable. No one can touch me. Nothing can stop me.
-------- A night without hunting, how long had it been since Jade had had that? She couldn't remember which showed just how long it had been. It wasn't that Jade begrudged her busy schedule, she loved hunting with every fiber of her being. She was a born huntress, aggressive and filled with enough rage to keep her going for at least the next twenty years at best. She had been told by her father a long time ago that she should do what she loved best and she did, sure there was danger in hunting creatures that would love to eat her or something to that degree but really, that was what made it so much fun. The risk. The danger. The adrenaline that pumped through her each time she was hunting something, the fact that she could die at any time seemed to be the best way of keeping alive, strangely enough. Brushing her brunette hair back from her face, the young woman shut the door of her 1951 Chevy, looking at the raucious place that she had chosen to relax in. She looked back to her pride and joy, her baby. She had taken the 1951 Chevy from a beat up wreck to the beauty it was today and it was her greatest accomplishment as far as she was concerned. The car held memories for her of course, it had been a home to her in all the years she had traveled with her mom and dad, a bed and a playroom when she had been smaller and the first car she had learned to drive. The first car she had been allowed to work on as well, it had been her father's and when he had 'died', it had gone to her. She took care of the beauty, making sure it shined and stayed well-maintained. It was a second job of hers and she did pretty damn good. Making sure the doors were all locked, Jade turned her dark brown eyes over to the bar once again and grinned, this was her kind of place. She was a bar chick, she adored the smokey atmosphere, the less than friendly locals and the cheap beer that was surprisingly good. And of course, who coudl forget the dumbass meatheads inside that would hit on any bitch with breasts. She was used to it considering she was reasonable attractive but Jade was selective with whom she chose to go home with and she doubted any guys inside would meet her standards. Besides, she wasn't here to hook up with anyone, she was here to relax, have a few beers and maybe play some darts. She didn't like pool too much. She could play but it just really didn't interest her all that much. Wearing a slimming black shirt and a pair of jeans, Jade wasn't exactly dressed to go hunting, she was kind of hoping that the only problems she had to deal with that night were humans. Not that Jade was unprepared, she was never unprepared. She had a knife in her left boot and a small pouch of salt in her pocket at all times, just in case. Fuckin demons... Pushing open the door, Jade was welcomed with the familiar sounds she knew well, bad music, dumb guys, and the sound of two suckers hitting on some brunette. Wait... Jade knew that chick. Smirking, Jade found her way to the bar and ordered herself a beer as she watched what she considered was one very amusing show. Jessie was a good actress, Jade had to give her that much, it came with the job of being a hunter. Being anyone to the innocent people, a police officer trying to dig up answers, a FBI agent or a mortician, anyone. Jade had that particular skill but she wasn't so good at playing a police officer cause she was too impatient and she didn't normally like pairing up with anyone when it came to a hunt. Sitting back, Jade relaxed and watched Jessie as she hustled the guy out of his money. Jade had known it was going to happen cause she knew first-hand how good Jessie happened to be at pool. It was one reason why Jade didn't like playing the stupid game. She didn't like losing. Ever. Laughing out loud when Jessie ended up emasculating the poor guy horribly, Jade hopped down from her bar stool and made her way over to Jessie, a grin on her face as well as another beer in hand, one that Jade offered to her fellow huntress. "You're such a bitch." Jade said with a laugh, showing that she wasn't scolding or disapproving at all, picking on morons was a favorite pastime for Jade as well. "Picking on those poor morons, they never saw it coming." The only thing they mostly saw was Jessie's rack and her ass, two things that she exploited to get the outcome that she had gotten. "Wasn't expecting to see you around here, though I heard you were in Virginia or something." When it came to hunters, rumors was one way of tracking others but the rumors weren't always right. She had heard wrong unless Jessie somehow found a way to teleport to this particular bar. When it came to Jessie, Jade had always considered her to be a rival or sorts, though they were on mostly friendly terms. She was good to have in a fight as well as on a hunt plus she had this natural ability to make Jade want to do better, to prove that she was as good if not better than Jessie. "So, on a hunt or just being the local bully tonight?"Tags; Jessie Lyrics; Unbreakable - Fireflight Word Count; 944 Outfit; Outfit Comments; None

TROUBLE

Some men were such morons. As the idiots back pedaled fast and almost tripped over each other in their haste to get away from the "Man Eating Bitch" as she heard one call her, she laughed. IT wasn't that she disliked men but those two were very poor examples of the male species. All Talk and No Go. Jericho would have had her pegged two seconds into the game and they probably would have been having wild monkey sex by now. It was a shame they just didn't make em like they used to. Then again... Jericho really was one of a kind. He wasn't afraid to call her bluff and make her eat her own words if the occasion called for it. Not to mention.. He look damned fine when he was playing the he-man act and his ass wasn't bad to look at climbing out of her bed either.... Grinning a bit at that thought, the pretty brunette was just about to turn and head for the bar when another familiar voice rang out above the den of noise. With an arched brow, the huntress turned to smirk at the only familiar face in the joint. "Well hell... Lookie at what the cat drug in..Miss Pain in my ass Alanon..What the hell brings you to this neck of the woods? This isn't your particular style of place... You hunting down the were rumors too? Or is there another next of vampires somewhere around here and you got lost on your way to their next?? Oh wait... Don't tell me.. this is their nest and we've both just landed in their midst again. Every time you show up, I seem to get my ass in a sling."Then, grinning to take the sting out of her words, she waved down a passing waitress and snagged the four shots she had lurking on her tray. When the woman protested, Jess tossed down an extra $20 and told her to keep the tip before offering two of the tumblers to the newcomer. When she took them, Jessie raised one up in a toast before continueing "A toast.... Between frenemies... Heres to you.. Heres to me.. Best of friends may we always be.. But if we should ever disagree? To HELL with you and heres to ME!!!"Tossing back the sting of Patron, the huntress grinned like a loon even as she leaned back against the bar. "So.. seriously, what the hell brings you in this crap hole? And Virginia was so last week... I'm on the track of a flesh eating something or other that seems to like human meat......"Picking up the other glass, she eyed the woman over it before tossing it back too. "That and teaching a few idiots that theres more to a female than a pair of tits and ass. I swear... You'd think they'd learn but... they never do...."

-------- Jessie's reaction to seeing Jade was definitely expected. Anyone who might have watched the two young women, they might believe that they hated one another but it was quite the opposite. Well, not fully the opposite cause Jade sure as hell didn't love Jessie but she was the closest thing she had to a friend in this life and that was saying a lot considering... Of course Jessie would bring up that horrible hunt where Jade had nearly gotten eaten, that had been horribly embarrassing and she really didn't like to think about it. Not her kind of place? Course it was, a little less known than she was used to but she loved bars cause there was always some form of release there, whether it was booze, a bar brawl, a hunt, or some hot guy that caught her eye. Rumors? Jessie was here on a hunt or was she just investigating something on the off chance that it would deem her interest? Hard to tell with Jessie really. "You know me, always were the action is." Jade said with a smirk and a shrug. Pfft, as if Jade was the reason they had gotten into that mess in the first place, that had been Jessie's fault and she damn well knew it. "Oh please, I've saved your ass enough times that my name should be branded on it." She stopped a moment before laughing. "But don't do that, that would be weird." The grin that Jade had on her face only widened when Jessie got four shots of whatever and handed two of them to Jade. Clicking the tumblers together in a cheers, Jade laughed before knocking back one after another and setting it down on a table nearby. "You always were crap at making toasts.""So.. seriously, what the hell brings you in this crap hole? And Virginia was so last week... I'm on the track of a flesh eating something or other that seems to like human meat......" Figures Jessie was on a hunt. Not that Jade would be joining her on it, it was her night off...kinda. Though now that she had run into Jessie, she'd probably be dragged into it somehow, the damn flesh eating something or other was probably in the back of her car right now, waiting for her. Would be her luck... "A night off hunting to just relax and watch other hunters beat up on the common man for my entertainment." "They are men, what more can you expect?" Seriously, what guy is actually trainable that isn't a complete and total pussy anyway? So far the night had turned out rather amusingly. "Two beers," she tapped the bar, getting the bartender's attention and leaned against the bar with a smirk on her face. "You just had to bring up that vampire shiz again didn't you bitch, I mean seriously." Not a fun time to be certain. Despite not wanting to, she couldn't help but think back to that hunt not too long ago, fuckin vampires maan. "Besides, the whole incident was your fault in the first place and I pulled your ass out of the fire at the last second. Admit it." The beers came and Jade took a long drink. God it felt good to just relax and not worry about something trying to nom on her various body parts. "Seriously though, don't get me caught up in your current hunt, you always have a habit of almost getting me eaten or possessed or throw out a window...Oh wait, you did get me thrown out a window." Another hunt and boy that had been an insane hunt, fun in the end but going out a window...not fun. "So not ideal." TROUBLE

Post by Jessica Coulter on Mar 11, 2011 19:17:34 GMT -5
There were a lot of things in this world that were uncertain. Jessie could name a trillian different things that were as changeable as the wind. The weather.. where she'd lay her head that night.. the color of her socks coming out of the laundry after Jericho had gotten ahold of them... Hell, even the chances of winning the lottery. However, the one thing she could always rely on was that Miss Jade Alanon would NEVER change. She was all mouth and had a cocky ass attitude that would no doubt get her in a world of trouble someday. The huntress was snide, sarcastic and had more balls then most men of this day in age and Jessie didn't know why the hell she put up with her. Except for the fact they were so much alike they were probably the only ones that could stand one anothers company for longer than five minutes without putting someone's head through a wall. Damn, that really didn't say much for herself did it? SHaking her head at that thought, Jess sent the other woman a sarcastic smirk before she grabbed the beer the bartender slid over to her and turned to face the rest of the bar. Since it was a biker bar, more than one patron was decked out in chains and sported what was no doubt some sort of weapon underneath their heavy leathers. It was an environment thats probably should have made the pair of them uncomfortable but honestly... They faced down big, badder and argueably uglier things every day. There was absolutely nothing about the bar that scared Jessie in the least. Once you'd faced down the devil, everything else was pretty much child's play. Right? RIGHTTTTTTTT. "Don't worry.. If your scared of a little flesh monster... I won't drag you into it. Wouldn't wanna have to watch your ass too while I avoid having a chunk taken out of my own hide. Your pansy ass screaming would scare the damned thing away anyhow so its probably best you set this one out."Knowing she was deliberately baiting the other woman, Jessie cast her a grin and took a drink of the beer. Her gaze shifted to the rest of the room and constantly wandered even as she observed Jades reactions from the corner of her eye. "How the hell you been anyways? Everything Ok with you? Not gotten yourself into any trouble have you? Do I need to be worried about cops busting through the front door or anything?"Although her tone was teasing, her expression was not when she shot her another look. Frenemies they might be but hunters looked after one another and if there was any shit going down, Jessie wanted to know ahead of time so she could cover her back.

God, I want to dream again, Take me where Ive never been. I want to go there, this time Im not scared. Now I am unbreakable, its unmistakable. No one can touch me. Nothing can stop me.
-------- Oh yeah, this was definitely good times. Jessie was one person that Jade knew she could push buttons with and not have her storming off in a rage or having her try to kill her. Mostly because Jessie was a lot like Jade in the way she handled certain things as well as the way her sense of humor worked. It worked for the two frenemies rather well. They weren’t close by any stretch of the imagination but they didn’t hate each other either, not yet anyway. There was still a good chance that that could change but for now things were good. Jessie wasn’t as outspoken as Jade was, not from what she had seen of her but she was a hell of a fighter and a fuckin good hunter to say the least. Plus she could teach a few guys how to really treat a lady…as she had just demonstrated moments earlier in a rather rudimentary style. “Those guys won’t be forgetting you anytime soon,” she joked as she took another drink of her beer. “You always did know how to make an impression on the guys.” The sounds of pool being taken up again was heard, the clicking of the pool balls as well as the generally bad music was a soothing sound to Jade. The sound of normalcy in an otherwise unnatural world. Sometimes it was nice just kicking back and looking like a normal chick rather than running around chasing something or worse yet, being chased by something. Never fun. Well…almost never fun. Hunting had it’s moments. And it was very true that anything in this bar, no matter how big or how bad their temper may be, was nothing compared to what Jessie and Jade had to deal with on a pretty much weekly basis. Spirits that can toss ya out windows, vampires or werewolves with the occasional Rugaru and of course those sneaky little Rakshasa that Jade hated more than anything, aside from demons of course. As per usual, Jessie knew exactly how to get at Jade, challenging her courage when it came to a hunt. Had it come from anyone else, there is a good chance that Jade would have throatpunched them right there, hell it was still tempting to throatpunch Jessie but she didn’t cause it was all in fun…mostly. “Maybe it you wouldn’t worry about other people, you’d actually succeed on a hunt every so often.” Pansy ass screaming, riiiight. What a bitch. “So flesh monster, what is it? Skinwalker?” Jade hadn’t hunted one of them for months, fuckers really hid themselves well, that or the amount of hunters that existed now meant less baddies for Jade to hunt. While Jade had expressed a lack of interest in joining any hunts, she probably would have if Jessie needed the help, though she’d never let her forget it. Shrugging nonchalantly, Jade looked to the door a moment, as though watching out for someone. “I’ve been doing good Jess, though I can never go back to Texas again, don’t ask, long story.” Reeeally long story that she didn’t want to get into at all. “Not gotten myself into trouble? Pfft, I was born into trouble, any time off of it a blessing.” No, no cops, a few pissed off crime lords maybe but Jade wasn’t going to mention that. No need. “No don’t worry mom, I’m not in trouble with the cops…this week anyway. What about you? Been visiting any nice state penitentiaries lately?” They could joke about it but the reality of being a hunter meant usually being against the law, not that they did anything wrong of course. Quite the opposite but very rarely did the law believe what was really out there, they’d make up some lame ass excuse and pin it on the hunter just because they don’t want to look like dumbasses because they can’t solve the real crime. “Or maybe an asylum. I almost got put in one once. The padded rooms are lovely but the straitjackets itch like crazy.” Whether she was telling the truth or not on that one was left up to Jessie to decide. Jade just simply grinned. “But truthfully, do you need help with your hunt? I was hoping to relax but you know me, always happy to help a fr—“ She stopped and began to mock gag a few times before grinning. “Sorry, that word always seems to get stuck in my throat.”Tags; Jessie Lyrics; Unbreakable - Fireflight Word Count; 745 Outfit; Outfit Comments; None

TROUBLE

Post by Jessica Coulter on Mar 14, 2011 10:06:22 GMT -5
Yeah Yeah Yeah. There was nothing like listening to a bunch of smart ass conversation to make a girl smile. There were very few people in the world who could rival Jessie with a sarcasm and dry humor but Jade was one of them. Really, it was probably amazing that they got on as well as they did without trying to kill each other. If anyone else had flipped her the attitude the other woman was at the moment, she'd have cut them down to size. Fortunately, it seemed more of a friendly war between them than actual insults so Jessie was content to let it go. It was kind of like matching mental swords with a worthy opponent in an effort to keep ones wits keen. Smiling at the mental picture that caused, Jessie took another swig of beer before glancing at her companion with a roll of her eyes. Snarky bitch was really on a roll tonight and the huntress couldn't help wonder what really happened in Texas. That was Jade's business however and unless she wanted to talk about it.. Well, Jess knew better than to pry. In their line of work, one never gave away all their secrets and to ask questions usually got you a fist in the face or worse. “Oh.. but a life time of happy drugs might just be worth it!” she sniped back, grinning wickedly. “And if the nurse is sexy with a nice rear end..Eh... Nah... guess not even then cause I've got my own lover's sexy rear end to watch.. hes the jealous sort so probably not best to tempt fate.”Taking another drink of beer, the caramel haired huntress leaned negligently on the bar before answering the other questions. For a long moment, her eyes trailed over the bar and passed over a shadowed figure at the far edge of the counter. The stormy grey gaze slipped over the person only to snap back with narrowed interest. The dude was dressed in leather like the other patrons but he seemed to be making a concerted effort to hide in the shadows. He also seemed to be a bit unkept and his hair was long, oily and in disarray. Not unusual but the way he held himself as if not wanting to draw notice was. As a waitress served him his drink and then walked away, his gaze seemed to follow her hungrily. Immediately, Jessie's instincts were triggered but she kept her pose loose and easy. “OH.. This is that... doing research.. traveling... hunting things... getting married.... running from said spouse... You know.. the usual crap...” she drawled out, pretending to turn her gaze away from the man she was watching and taking another sip of beer before lowering her voice. “Let me ask you something... Is there anyone in the bar right now that seems a bit... Out of place even for here?”As if she hadn't a care in the world, Jessie shifted slightly to check the weapon at her side and then smiled cunningly at Jade. She gave the woman a moment to scan the scene and then finished the rest of her beer before slamming the empty bottle on the bar and pushing away from the counter slowly. From the corner of her eye, she caught sight of the man she'd been watching glanced around the room shifty and then slink towards the door. He had the look of a predator as he tracked something that had caught his attention and everything in her went on alert. As he passed by the lights, she caught the gleam of his eyes and knew her instincts had been right on track. “Feel like a game of hide and seek?” she asked, shooting Jade a look that said more than her vocal words did. “Rugaru's are nasty beasts but if I'm right... one just left here and he was on the trail of the pretty blond waitess that just served us our shots. You game or should I just handle this one myself?”

-------- It was hilarious really, how alike Jade and Jessie were in both the way they acted towards others as well as the way they thought. The way they hunted as well. Fuck the world and their opinions on how chicks should behave, leaving the hard work to the guys. That wasn’t their way. Not that Jade held Jessie up to the level that she held herself to. As far as Jade was concerned, she was a better hunter than Jessie was and she probably always would be. Sure, that was an arrogant way to look at things but considering Jade wasn’t the sort to admit to others being better than her anyway, it was classic Jade really. She was an arrogant egotistical bitch with trust issues and a gun. There was no better way to have a hunter really. She didn’t have lasting friendships nor did she have a home, she traveled and her only friend was her baby, her car and she was fine with that. Jade considered other hunters to be comrades but not friends, not even Jessie was a friend in Jade’s book. Friends were a weakness and she couldn’t have that. She liked allies, comrades, soldiers in arms, shit like that. Oh yeah…Jade could get deep at times but that was as far as she went. Still, it was nice to hang with fellow hunters when she got the chance, especially one as snarky and snide as Jessie was. Made for an amusing time as she took some downtime for herself. She had been hunting various things over the last few months and following leads on the demon that always seemed to be just dead ends. It was irritating to say the least and it always left a bad taste in her mouth. It was like the demon was taunting her, mocking her for her inability to track it down and with it, track her father down as well. She was no fool, she knew that he wouldn’t survive the exorcism, she’d essentially be killing her own father in an attempt to end the demon as well but surely her father would rather be dead than possessed. He had to live with the knowledge that he had been used to brutally murder his own wife. Ugh, she needed to stop thinking about that depressing shit. She was here for a good time. She’d worry about that crap once she had left the bar and was back in her home on wheels. She snorted in laughter when Jessie mentioned the lifetime of happy drugs. “Ya got a point there.” She conceded though she had never been given happy pills. Arching a brow, Jade couldn’t help but smirk at the mention of a lover. “Lover? Getting soft on me there Jess.” She teased as she took another drink of her beer. Was Jessie joining the elite group of bitches who were settling down with their men and becoming more complacent and soft? What was next? Giving up hunting for a life at home with her children while her husband did all the work? What a waste of a great hunter but it wouldn’t surprise Jade if it did come to that. “Never figured you for the settlin type,” Jade was being serious for the moment before switching to her usual smart ass self. “Didn’t think you’d survive long enough to settle but I guess everyone needs to be wrong at least once in their life.” As Jessie went on to spy on her potential Rugaru, Jade was otherwise distracted by the broken sounds of voices talking back and forth in her head. It was back and she couldn’t push it away. The distinct urge to ask Jessie if she heard them as well came and went since Jade already knew the answer. Only she heard them and nothing changed that fact. To say that it was frustrating was an understatement because it meant that she was insane. She hadn’t been kidding about the asylum gig though it hadn’t lasted long but the voices did, they always did along with the niggling feeling that ‘something’ was missing, something important but she never knew what it was. Extremely frustrating and there was nothing she could do to get rid of it. It wasn’t a ghost she was hearing, she had thought that at first but unless it was a couple of ghosts that followed her everywhere, than it was something else cause she heard them in different places. There were times she could distinguish what was being said and other times it all just sounded like frantic gibberish. She was brought out of the insanely annoying gibberish conversation by a real voice that she knew was there, Jessie’s. Jade couldn’t help but stare in shock that the ‘lover’ that Jess had mentioned was actually her husband. Fuckin hell…Miracles really did happen or maybe nightmares considering she was running from him. “I want to know and yet…I really don’t want to.” Hardly usual crap but she wasn’t going to ask a million questions about Jess’ personal life. Wasn’t her business and it sounded too messed up for her own comfort. “Yeah, the usual.” She said with a snort of laughter and sighed as the voices continued but she did what she could to ignore them. The lowering of Jess’ voice caught Jade’s attention and she leaned in a bit to hear over the voices. Out of place? Those few words immediately caused Jade’s own flags to raise and she began to peer around in a non-descript way. She knew what to look for and how not to be noticed and she achieved both as she caught sight of the bum that Jessie had been looking at as well. “Not all that hot if you ask me.” She said aloud with a giggle, trying to make it seem like she was scoping some guy out with her friend. So much for some downtime. She couldn’t help but sigh as she noticed the ugly looking brute heading out, noticing the predatory look in his eye as well. Downing the rest of her beer, she grinned at Jessie. “You really know how to pick ‘em don’t ya? Rugaru… Damn girl.” She said with a laugh as she got to her feet. “As if you really need to ask. Course I’m game but no whining if I’m the one to down the creature this time.” It was still a game to Jade, a serious one but when it came to hunting it didn’t come across as ‘life and death’ situations. It was a game of tactics and knowledge as well as skill and strength. The prize was pride and the knowledge that one less bastard would be chewing on someone’s forearm that night. The only downside to the ‘game’ was the fact that there was no do-overs. Mess up and you could lose your life or someone elses. Best incentive in the world to do things right the first time. “This should be fun.” Tags; Jessie Lyrics; Unbreakable - Fireflight Word Count; 1200 Outfit; Outfit Comments; None

Hell. As much as Jessie wanted to deny the words Jade was spouting, she couldn't. There had been a time when Jess had sworn she'd never settled down either but .. Fuck.. Shit happened and she supposed they all had their upcomance coming at some point. Jericho was just hers. My, my how the the mighty had fallen. Sighing into her drink, the caramel haired beauty pushed away from the bar and discarded her beer. With her gaze narrowed on the door where the creature had just disappeared, she absentmindedly checked her weapons and then snorted at Jade's comment. "Yeah, yeah.... So you keep sayin and I keep waiting to see. Try to keep up this time, would you? I don't wanna have to be saving your ass again." she tossed back with a smirk. "I got better things to do with my time, you know. Besides babysitting your ass."Teasing done, the huntress began to thread her way through the crowd and towards the door. Even as she went, her eyes scanned the crowd for anyone else out of place or for what might become a trap. One could never be to careful and just because ragaru's were normally solitary creatures... it didn't mean a mate might not be hanging about offering to pick up dessert in the form of an unwary hunter. Reaching the doorway, Jessie paused long enough to glance over her shoulder at Jade and then nodded. Stepping out into the summer night, she swore silently as she realized it had begun to rain and visiblity was decreased. Son of a bitch. She hated these summer storms that blew up out of nowhere. "Looks like things just got a bit more complicated. Tracking in this is going to be damned near impossible if at all." she drawled to her companion. "I know where the woman lives.... With any luck, the sob won't attack until he gets her alone. Do you want to waste time checking the parking lot or head there?"Before Jade could answer, however, a distinct scream pierced the air and Jessie swore. "SHIT. Come on!" she hissed, sprinting through the darkness to where the sound had come from. "I hope you ate your Wheaties this morning, Aladon!"
