No time for goodbye he said As he faded away Don't put your life in someone's hands Their bound to steal it away Don't hide your mistakes 'Cause they'll find you, burn you Then he said If you want to get out alive Run for your life
-------- Pain. That was all she knew at that one instant as she was slammed against a tree, hurled out of the way by a fuckin vampire that she had pissed off. Bullets did nothing to them, if anything it just annoyed the hell out of them and made it all the more fun to kill those who did it in the first place. Jade knew that and yet it was human nature to go to one's best way of defense when faced with a monster. It shouldn't have been that way, she had been hunting for as long as she could remember and even before that, she had seen her father hunting and he had never made a rookie mistake like she had just made. What the fuck was a vampire doing out in the daylight anyway? Sure, she knew full well that the sunlight wasn't lethal to a vampire despite the legends and it sure as hell didn't make them sparkle either! Still, normally they slept during the day and hunted at night, it was because of this miscalculation that Jade had been caught by surprise in the first place. She had heard rumors of a vampire nest and had been searching for it when she had been attacked by a vampire. She figured that the vampire wasn't that old or she would have been dead by now, but it was still pretty strong anyway. Her entire body ached from the collision with the tree and she lay there for a moment, trying to gather her strength back. She could hear the arrogant vampire coming towards her, the thrill of a kill was clear on it's face. Oh yeah, it was a newbie, a seasoned vampire would have been quicker and would have been more tactical in it's approach. Reaching into her pocket, Jade pulled out a syringe filled with Dead Man's Blood, waiting for the moment to strike. She might have been caught off guard but she sure as hell wasn't helpless. Jade allowed her body to go limp when the vampire grabbed her arm, pulling her upwards so that she was on her feet again, it's fangs ready to sink into her flesh. He didn't get the chance though because the moment she was back on her feet, she quickly plunged the syringe into the vampire's arm and injected the Dead Man's Blood into it. Oh yeah, that surprised him, he had figured that Jade was some stupid bimbo that had gotten lost in the forest but now it was dawning on him that he had attacked a hunter. His mistake. Pushed violently backwards towards the trees, the vampire took off, trying to fight the effects of the Dead Man's Blood for as long as inhumanly possible but it wouldn't be long before he fell and Jade would behead him like he deserved. Sure, there were some arguments as to whether or not one should give the creatures the benefit of the doubt but really, why bother? The vampire had shown that it was willing to kill a human, therefore it had to be exterminated as well as it's nest. Why take the chance? She would behead this vampire and then she would kill any other vampire she came across, simple as that. The vampire's presence was almost a confirmation that there was indeed a nest around here somewhere. The question was where and how many was in the nest? Also should she call for back-up or do it herself? When it came to vampires, Jade was iffy on it. She had been in some bad jams with vampires and the only reason she had survived was because she had had someone with her. Meh, she'd kill this one vampire and decide on what to do later. She didn't like the thought of giving any of the vampires a chance to kill someone but if she was too reckless than the one they would have a chance of kill would be her and that would suck majorly. The red shirt she was wearing had been ripped up the side and she had a bloody gash on the side of her head from hitting the tree. Needless to say that her head hurt horribly and she’d need to tend to her wound soon. Fresh blood in a forest near a possible vampire nest was just asking for trouble. **************************************************************Eryk had no clue as to why he was still here, or rather, why he had returned. He had not seen Thalia since her boyfriends little outburst, and given not only the time of the year but also his very reason for being in this godforsaken part of the planet in the first place, Eryk was finding the entire situation not only deeply troubling, but deeply confusing, and the four legged beast at his side could tell, and rather than darting about as he might normally, chasing rabbits or investigating smells, seeing who had dared walk into the wolfs territory, now he stayed at Eryk’s side, walking close enough with him that his body would brush Eryk’s leg periodically. His return to England, as he did every year, had done nothing to settle the ancient vampire’s brain, and as he always did when he needed to clear his head, the vampire found himself pacing the woods. Unwittingly, he ventured into the part of the forest the vampire normally avoided, a part that “belonged” to a fledgling nest. He didn’t avoid it because he felt threatened by these vampires – no. He could crush this nest of he so desired, if he was that way inclined. He had been a vampire longer than these vampires had been alive, longer than their grandparents had been alive quite likely. The Alpha was a buffoon who was turning others at apparent will, indecisively and opportunistically, so much so that Eryk believed it would only be a short time before he found himself being challenged for his position as Alpha. If he was of that frame of mind, Eryk might have challenged him himself – but Eryk’s own alpha had been killed nearly two hundred years before, and it was a lifestyle he had fought long and hard against. Still, if the other vampires had caught his scent and he removed himself from their territory now, he would hear no end of it. As such, Eryk continued on his route, absently letting his fingers run through Fang’s fur as the wolf trotted beside him. They smelt it at the same time, the scent of blood wafting along the trees for practically visible to the vampire who had not fed since his return from across the pond, and caused the fur on fangs neck to stand on end, a low peal of growling to emanate from his throat. Eryk glanced around, pausing in his footsteps to track the sound his ears only now picked up. As he stood and watched a rather distressed looking vampire hurtled through the woods to his left, stumbling around before falling in a ditch just out of sight. Eryk arched one of his blonde brows as his eyes traced back along the other vampires path for a second. The smell of blood was coming from that direction, but there were few things that would send a vampire running like that. Namely, another vampire, or a hunter with a meat cleaver. Given the smell in the air, and the look of sheer panic on the others face before he had collapsed, Eryk was drawn towards door number two. Still, this vampire was his kin, whether Eryk liked this idea or not, and who was he to judge? As many vampires there were out there who killed for the thrill of the moment, there were those who killed to survive, those who drank only an animal’s blood, and those who raided donor trucks. And of course, there were those hunters who cared less how you ate your meal, whether it was in the woods or down in the hospital, they just went French on your ass whether you deserved it or not. Frowning slightly, Eryk moved towards this other vampire, just as another set of footsteps came crashing in pursuit. ********************************WearingHeader by the lufwee Drake

-------- It was more the indignity of being caught of guard that drove Jade faster towards where the vampire had disappeared. She was the sort that didn't like to think that she made mistakes on a hunt, that she was a hunter at the caliber of her father. She wasn't, not yet but she would be..assuming she lived past this day of course. She was normally a very confidant hunter but there was just something about vampires that made her seriously nervous, again she blamed Jessie. This could very well be a trap, maybe the seemingly amateur-ish vampire was actually an older vampire who had allowed her to inject him so that she got too cocky to realize she was being led into a trap. It was possible since vampires were pretty smart but could Jade really take the chance of leaving now? She couldn't...she had to kill the vampire before heading out. She couldn't ignore the threat it presented. Unlike the vampires, Jade didn't have heightened senses that would have alerted her to the presence of another vampire with his pet wolf or whatever it happened to be. She had her hunter senses and they were pretty good but nothing supernatural. Sometimes those monsters were lucky in some respect, some could smell a victim from two miles away and others could go wherever they wished with just a thought. They didn't have to do this freakin walking bullshit but oh well, the price you pay to be human. It sucked sometimes but meh. Jade would rather be human than any creature anyway, mostly cause she knew how hardcore most of the other hunters were, Jessie not included. She could hear the sound of the vampire and from the way the twigs had been snapped and the foilage disturbed, she was certain she was going in the right direction. Her impending migraine was not helping all that much in terms of making this hunt any more bearable and the sight of gray rainclouds was making her nervous. She didn't mind the rain but it was never fun to run in, just in case she was ambushed. She was a paranoid hunter, always thinking the worst despite there being no proof to suggest an ambush. The huntress felt a wave of dizziness pass over her from her wound but she fought the nausea she felt and continued on, determined to finish this part of the hunt. She had heard the sound of the vampire falling not far off in the distance, it had been panicked and now it was silent and yet she still could swear she heard footsteps. Was there another vampire waiting for her or was it an animal that was investigating the now unable to move vampire? Hard to say but at this point she'd have to be careful. Her machete was drawn and her body tense, all the pain she had felt earlier was pushed to the back of her mind. Coming out of the trees into a clearing, Jade caught sight of Eryk. This wasn't the vampire she had been tracking, so where was the one she had injected with Dead Man's Blood? She looked around while keeping her distance from Eryk and growled in annoyance. "Seen a panicked dude running through here?" She had to look a sight, bleeding forehead and a machete in hand. If this guy was just some camper in the woods than he was going to think she was some seriel killer, especially if he had seen the one she was after. If he was a vampire who was apart of the nest she had been tracking...well that might make things a bit more complicated but considering she had dosed the other vampire, she wouldn't have to worry about his interference, not for a while anyway. **************************************************************Having jerked his head round, Eryk’s eyes darkened slightly as he studied the trees before him, pausing in his journey towards this other vampire, passed out just out of sight to the left of him. Even these few steps closer brought the stench of the dead man’s blood to him, an almost unbearable smell that would make bile rise in the throat of even a much stronger vampire than he. As was, Eryk was somewhat glad he hadn’t eaten that day. His nostrils flared slightly as they caught, intermingled with the smell of the vampires infected blood, that of human. In reaction to the smell all vampires would find tantalising, Eryk’s gums began to itch. Unlike the young vampire however, Eryk’s did not descend – something that had taken centuries of practice to control. It was like trying not to jerk your hand away when you touched something hot. Fang growled softly again, and Eryk rested a hand on the wolf’s neck, raking his fingers through the wolf’s dark fur in an attempt to settle the beasts rumbling chests. It worked for a moment, and Fang’s hackles lowered – but only for a moment. As soon as the woman came hurtling into the clearing, covered in blood and wielding a machete, she looked like she had just stepped from one of those slasher movies that had been all the rage a few years ago, but was now nothing more than a remnant of an age before the creatures within had become all too real to much of the population. Eryk had quite enjoyed the ones about vampires, if only to watch the way in which their portrayal had changed from the likes of the nosferatu to Edward Cullen. Eryk studied her for a moment before he answered, keeping his fingers resting lightly on the fur at his side. ”That would depend-” he answered slowly, still watching her. ”-on the reason why you want to find him. Especially given your current state – twould be sensible to give up the chase and rest.” he remained stood where he was, waiting for her answer in silence, when the vampire to his left stirred, attempting once more it seemed to get away. Eryk’s head turned with the rustling, before returning his gaze to this woman, moving to block her way. Eryk was not favourable to most of his kin, he disliked them and many disliked him, but this did not mean that would stand by and idly watch one of them be murdered. No. Not after what had happened to him before – he himself had been saved by another vampire of the same mindset. It would be only fair to repay the debt. ********************************WearingHeader by the lufwee Drake Sorry it’s only short! So brain dead.

-------- Meeting random people in the woods wasn’t what one would call normal by any stretch of the imagination. She could only imagine how she looked with the blood and her machete in hand. If she came across someone maybe she could make them believe she was on some reality show that made people survive in the wilderness. Would be one of her more creative lies told to innocent bystanders but considering the collective intelligence of people these days were going way down, she figured there would be a bunch of people who would believe her. People were stupid… Not that Jade expected to run into anyone in the woods in the first place and any that she did she would immediately be suspicious of. Enter Eryk… Had he not had a wolf at his side when she noticed him, she might have thought he had the possibility of being normal but yeah…the wolf kind of clinched it for Jade. She had to wonder if he was human or if she was dealing with another vampire. He had run this way, she knew that much which meant a nest was most likely around here somewhere. So meeting up with another vampire would be unfortunate but not hard to believe. That just meant she had to have her guard up moreso around this stranger. She had asked him if he had seen her vampire running by here, perhaps she should have worded it better but oh well, couldn’t take back her words now. She was able to catch her breath at this point and did what she could to ignore the pain in her head as well. This was ridiculous, she felt light headed and she was starting to get a migraine but she had to focus on the vampire that had the nerve to attack her. “I’m fine.” She said in regards to her injury. She turned towards the sound of the rustling just when Eryk, that was where her prey was. The fact that Eryk moved to block her path showed where his alliance lay, with the vampire. That was really too bad. “He attacked me.” She put it simply. “I plan on returning the favor.” Taking on a vampire and a wolf was not ideal and she wasn’t sure how she was going to do it either. She had a gun so if it came down to it, she’d shoot the wolf first so that she had it taken care of and then she’d go for the vampire. Not that she particularly wanted to of course. She may be a hunter but she wasn’t the type that hunted just anything for the sake of hunting. She wasn’t a trophy hunter and she didn’t do it simply for reputation, she did it to protect others. She hunted those that were a danger to innocent people. The fact that the vampire had attacked her showed that he would do it again if he was allowed and she couldn’t allow that. “My fight isn’t with you. He’s a danger and has to be put down." It may sound cold but it was still true. Tags; Eryk Lyrics; Get Out Alive – Three Days Grace Word Count; 522 Outfit; Outfit Comments; Sorry it's short
