“HOLY HELL!” Chloe cursed to herself as she turned away from the body that had just hit the ground and heard the sound of running footsteps behind her. As the head of the vampire rolled underneath a trash dumpster, the young woman was faced with some of his very angry friends. The look in their eyes was not promising for her future health.
“Why does this ALWAYS happen to me!”she thought with an inward groan. Thank God she'd hidden her true nature and these idiots thought she was just another brainless female.
Honestly, she should have known that the creature had comrades hiding among the party goers in the club. Her information had lead her to believe that a rogue coven had settled in the area and was preying on young women foolish enough to step out with them for a quick kiss. Deciding to play an unsuspecting bimbo, she had gone to the club with the express purpose of luring one into a deadly trap.
Now, however, it looked as she might be the one trapped. There were 4 husky framed vampires glaring at her with various degrees of menace and hunger. Nope, definitely not one of her finer moments!
“Hey guys! Come to join the party?” she said with a sarcastic edge to her voice. “Sorry, but I am all finished here!”
Growling low in their throats, they began to circle her. The dark haired one in front arched a brow as he meet her gaze.
“Oh…. I don’t think you are! This party is just getting started. You don’t know how appreciative we are that you brought the snack.”
Rolling her eyes at his over done drama, the young woman flipped her knife and bared her own teeth in a sassy smirk. The dead mans blood in her pocket wasn’t going to do her any good on these four but her knife would at least hurt when it hit. It still had a bit of the poison on it. Probably not enough to do her any good but she would at least get a lick in.
“Come on now… That line reminds me of a bad melodrama. Surely you got a better pickup line than that!” she scoffed.
Smiling evilly at her, the leader tilted his head to her.
“Ah…. A sassy wench she be. To bad we don’t have time to play. I’m sure you would be amusing. I might even be tempted to turn you just for the fun of watching you squirm.”
From the corner of her eye, she saw one of the guys launch himself at her and she spun and kicked out to meet his stomach with her booted foot. As he went down, the others moved in closer and she lashed out with the blade. Unfortunately, there was to many of them and she felt hands fist in her hair.
Screaming like a banshee, the young warrior tried to jerk away but it was too late. With an inward resignation, she felt the knife leave her grasp and the hot breath upon her neck.
"Geez, don't you guys ever brush your teeth?" she snarled out as she drove a knee into the nearest groin. "Didn't your mother ever teach you its not nice to bite?"
As the hands holding her tightened painfully enough that she knew they would leave a bruise , Chloe prepared herself for the real battle. With one hope left, she dropped her arm and let her remaining blade fall into it from the sleeve sheath. The heavy weight was comforting as the creatures circled her and the sound of fangs descending rang out.
"WHAT THE HELL!" exclaimed her captor. "YOU A FUCKING HUNTER!"
Smiling evilly, Chloe slammed her elbow back with all her strength and spun around to kick him hard in the sternum. As he let go of her hair and fell backwards, she slashed out with the blade and decapitated the head from his shoulders. Satisfaction filled her as she watched the bloody corpse start to toppled.
"NO SHIT, SHERLOCK?? Guess you aren't quiet as dumb as I thought."

The city raced by him, kaleidoscope colours blurring as he drove, the lights from street lamps, houses and office blocks merging until they formed random trails of reds, blues and yellows, reflecting off the obsidian sheen of his vehicle. In the confines of the old mustang, he floored the accelerator, grip tightening on the wheel, and he relished the growl of the engine beneath him, the shuddering of the chassis as the car picked up speed. They served to remind him of his mortality, and the joy he took in risking it. His face was set, jaw clenched, eyes narrowed and brows firm; the visage of a man on a mission.
And, in his opinion at any rate, it was one of the most important missions he could possibly be on.
He had been tracking them for weeks, undead monsters who made towns their hunting grounds, preying on the innocent, draining them of blood in order to stay alive. Vampires; just thinking the word sent a shiver down his spine. His knuckles were white, his grip on the steering wheel tightening further, and he gritted his teeth. Since they had made his father one of them, since they had warped what had been a good man, they had been public enemy number one. They made humans their prey, they had made his father their prey, and then he had made it his one goal to make them his.
Sebastian James had spent months putting the creatures to rest. He could not kill his father, even though his instinct advised him he should, and so he'd left home, rampaging through the United States, laying waste to any coven he could find; a fitting revenge for what they had done. Most put up little resistance, their superior strength not enough to match his lifetime of training. But most was not all, and some ran, putting as much distance between the hunter and their coven as they could.
The group he was after that night were such vampires, and he though they were some he'd met in Georgia months before. He'd had a few tips from a number of reliable contacts, and their hunting grounds were similar, feeding habits near the same. There was no certainty, of course, as no pictures existed, but he'd chased ghosts with less evidence. Hell, if they weren't the same coven, they could still be vampires, and he'd get to finish them off. But he had to find them first.
From what he'd heard, this group liked to hang around nightclubs, feeding off young women stupid enough to 'go for a cigarette' with them. They picked on weak targets, defenceless girls who would be both unarmed and physically weak enough to offer no resistance; predatory, smart and underhanded. Thing is, any nightclub city-wide presented suitable targets, and the first two he'd visited had no sign of the leeches. He prayed the third would herald some more favourable results. The dark was getting lighter, dawn would break in but a few hours, and he wouldn't have long enough to scour a fourth bar. His quarry would have eluded him once again.
And it was just as that thought crossed his mind that the place he was headed came into view, an old, ramshackle building that somehow retained it's license to be named a 'club', despite the rusted nails that boarded half the windows up. It was no surprise it wasn't the most populated place he'd visited that evening. He pulled his mustang over onto the curb sharply, slowing it with a screech of breaks, and proceeded to finally cut its engine a few meters from the entrance.
As the grumble of the 329 obsidian motor died down, Sebastian leant over to the passengers seat, picked up the Heckler and Koch USP he had lain there, and checked it over. It was loaded, the clip in correctly, a round in the chamber should he need it. He tested its weight for a moment, and then flicked on the flash light mounted on the muzzle. Nodding to himself, he threw open his door, stepped into the open air, and locked the car via the remote lock that hung on his belt. He flicked the safety off on his pistol, and headed for the alleyway closest to him rather than the entrance to the building. He'd been hunting vampires long enough to know they didn't do their dirty business where others could see them.
He had only got half way to his destination when he heard raised voices, shouts and the sound of scuffles, and he instinctively knew he'd found what it was he'd been looking for, and worse, they'd found what they had been looking for; food. His cautious approach went out the window, and he set off at a jog, rushing into the darkness without taking the time to look over his surroundings. Whoever was being attacked was in trouble, and if he could save a life as well as kill the cover, then he'd feel all the more accomplished.
“Hold on! I'm almost-”
He didn't get to finish his sentence. As he rounded the corner that had been protecting the creatures from the sight of those passing by, he stumbled across a decapitated body, a girl holding a knife, and three snarling males, long, pearl white fangs bared. Apparently the damsel he'd been expecting wasn't so much a damsel, and was instead of his ilk, a hunter; clearly a skilled one if she'd survived long enough to take a head and sustain little in the way of injury.
But he didn't have time to be impressed. There were three still left, three no doubt motivated to tear any human in their immediate vicinity to pieces and metaphorically shit on their corpses for murdering a friend. He'd seen it done, and he sure as hell didn't want to see it again.
Dropping to one knee, he cupped his pistol, braced his shoulders, and squeezed off three rounds into the vampire closest to him, putting one in his left knee cap, one in his upper left thigh, and one in his waist. The aim of the shots? Slow the fucker the hell down so he and the girl could worry about the other two still at full strength.
{{OOC: Hope this is okay. I haven't RPed action in ages. I will prettify my post as soon as I'm done with dinner ~}}

Well, Hell.... Wasn't this just perfect? One moment, she had the situation well in hand and the next? All hell was breaking loose around her and she wasn't sure who was more surprised. Her or the bloodsuckers.
The sound of someone approaching had whipped their heads around but instead of the clueless civilian the huntress had been expecting... Lo and behold... It seemed as if luck where finally shining down on her a bit. For there in the dim moonlight stood a dark and dashingly handsome gentleman she recognized well.
To well, her daddy might say. At that thought, a wicked smile curved over her lips and she couldn't help the sigh of satisfaction that escaped her. Of all the men to run into on a night like this... She couldn't think of one she'd be happy to see. Coming or going.
"Mind on the game there, chicky!" scowled her inner voice as the gleam of a weapon flashed and circumstances realigned. Instantly, her mind snapped from more pleasurable thoughts to business and her wicked smile turned nasty.
"Looks like the odds are a little more evened now, doesn't it boys?" she drawled out even as she shook off her own surprise.
Sebastian James might be a known womanizer but he was hell on wheels in a fight and it was obvious that he read the signs right as he dropped to a knee and fired rounds into the vampire nearest to him. Shell shocked, pun intended, the other blood suckers stood around like bumps on a log until Chloes own movement brought their attention back to her. It wasn't every day a girl got the best of them but this new threat? Shit, they didn't know which enemy to take on first. Their slow minds settled on one logic and Chloe almost laughed as they narrowed their gazes on her.
When in doubt? Always go for the seemingly more weak woman. Their mistake.
As they lunged for her, Chloe flipped her curved blade and flung it like a boomerang. A heavy thud rang out as it sliced through sinew and tissue and lodged in the bone of a spinal column. The creatures last surprised expression was ambrosia to the huntresses soul even as she dug for another dagger. Unfortunately, before she could pull it out, the other vampire grabbed her by the throat and tossed her hard against the wall. Stunned for a moment, the dark haired beauty barely managed to react in time to save her neck from a savage bite only to feel said fangs sink into her collarbone.
"DAMN IT!"she hissed out. "BAD VAMPIRE!! NO DESSERT FOR YOU TONIGHT!!"
Bringing her knee up, Chloe felt the satisfaction of her knee hitting family jewels before giving him a hard shove. As the bloodsucker stumbled backwards, she took a moment to catch her breath and look for Bastian.
"YOU BETTER NOT BE DEAD, JAMES!!! I'm going to be one mighty disappointed lady if you've gone and gotten yourself killed before I've gotten to look my fill at your ugly mug!! Especially since you crashed my party when I was having so much fun!!"

The second after Sebastian fired the shots, all hell broke loose.
The other two vampires that had been stood around turned their attention to the girl, who had a very familiar accent, and lept at her, snarling, all too ready to tear her head from her body and use it as a chew toy. One didn't even get close, a cleaver-sized dagger lodging in his neck, no doubt severing the spinal chord enough to cease brain signals between head and body. He dropped like a stone weight. His friend though? He'd fared better. Vamp 2 had reached his target, and the girl had lost her blade performing her knife-hurling circus trick. But as much as Sebastian would have loved to lend her a hand, he had his own problems.
The blood sucker Sebastian had put three rounds in wasn't moving quite as slowly as he'd anticipated. In fact, after taking a moment to wince, the Dracula groupie sprinted at Sebastian with such anger in his eyes that the hunter figured 'shit' was about to get interesting. And it did. The vampire collided with him, knocking him back a little, his back hitting the alley wall, and hard. The attack knocked his pistol from his hand, and it hit the floor, skidding away from him. Pain surged through his back, and he winced. But it woke him up, got adrenaline pumping through his body, and his senses were more alert than they'd been in days. It was like he was seeing the world move in slow motion, as if every part of his body was supercharged with some inhuman vigour.
He moved his head a little to the right a second before a pale fist smashed into where it had been resting. Dust and grit rose as brick broke, but Sebastian didn't have time to cough, or to wipe his eyes. His assailant was preparing for another hit, and he doubted the vampire would be inclined to miss a second time. Remembering his flashlight, still attached to the muzzle of his pistol, he scanned the floor for it desperately, and his green eyes were almost instantly drawn to the glow of the still functional attachment. It lay only a few feet away, behind the creature that was trying to pummel his face.
Sebastian dodged the next swing by a hairs bredth, and saying he had a number 3 cut, that really wasn't by that much. More debris flew from the wall, but this time he was ready to capitalize on his enemies mistake. Balling his right hand into a fist, he pummeled his gloved knuckles into the beast's side. The first one took it by surprise. The second, in exactly the same place, knocked the wind out of it. It stepped back, shocked at the return punches, and it gave Sebastian just enough room... His head shot forward, hard forehead aimed for the vampire's nose. The headbutt connected with a sickening crunch, and the vampires that had been dressed in leathers, threatening to kill the eldest James child, he fell back, hands clutching his face.
Over in the immediate distance, he heard the girl shouting, something about dessert. But he was too buzzed to listen or to reply. He had to act before the bastard he'd just put down recovered. Throwing himself into a dive, arms outstretched, he lunged at his fallen weapon, hitting the ground in a roll, scooping it up in an open palm. He turned quickly, still on his knees, just as his opponent landed in front of him, fangs bared, reading to take a bite at his face. Calmly, Sebastian just swung the flashlight, UV based, into its eyes.
It let out a pained shout, hands instantly going to cover the pupils. Sebastian knew that they didn't burst into flame like the classic vampires of folk lore, but he knew UV light caused them a hell of an itch, and directed straight into the eyes; well, it caused temporary blindness, just like if a human who'd been in the pitch black got concentrated light shone in their eyes. The secondary advantage was all he needed. Bracing the pistol once again, he unloaded two shells into the thing's head. The first took it in the jaw, the second mid-forehead. Vampire brain splattered out the newly created exit wound, and it hit the floor with a definitive thud.
Pride coursed through him, though he didn't have time to celebrate. A shout from the girl, who he identified to be Chloe Reynolds by voice (who else shouted his name like that?), was still toiling with one of them, and she'd just free'd herself from its clutches. Turning toward, her, he aimed his pistol, wondering if he could bring it down, but figured it was best not to risk it. He was a good shot, but in the dark, in a confined space, with two bodies fighting...he didn't want to clip Chloe. It could put a dampner or an end to what was an extremely good relationship.
Lowering the weapon, he reached around his back, unclipping a simple, serrated combat knife from the sheath at his waist. Taking it in his hand, he took a few steps toward the girl he knew, even in the dark, to be dark haired, beautiful and deadly. “Me? Dead? C'mon Clo, have a little more faith in me than that. Couldn't die on you, you'd miss me too much.” His witty retort was less to distract her, than just get her attention. He just needed her to turn around, just for a moment. “Catch!” he shouted, flicking the knife toward her, praying to a none existant God that she'd catch it. Then, from what he remembered, she had really good hands.

If she hadn't been in a battle for her very life, Chloe would have laughed at her friends comeback. Unfortunately, she was and the vampire choose that moment to leap forward and snap those nasty canines at her. Ducking out of the way, she barely caught the glint of metal flying at her before she reflectively caught it in mid air.
Thank god it just happened to be the right end!
With instincts honed by years of hunting and military drills pressed into her by her father, Chloe shifted her weight and twirled the knife around just as the vamp struck again. Feeling its arms wrap around her, she shook her head and then struck downwards with a hand that grabbed squishy things in a hold that froze the creature in place. Smiling evilly, she scrunched harder and felt satisfaction as he began to howl.
Oh yeah, even the evil undead had that vital weakness and males of any species quivered when their family jewels were threatened.
Still gripping the mans "Assets" Chloe twisted around and brought the blade up and into his throat. The cry that had been escaped abruptly was cut off amid the bubble of thick black blood from the upside down smiley face he now wore on his throat. Then, and only then, did the huntress let go and step back.
"Thanks, James.... You are, indeed, a life saver... Remind me that I owe you one later." she gasped out before changing hands with the blade and lashing out once more in an attempt to sever the vampires head from its body.
Unfortunately, though, the blade lodged in the bone of the spine and she had to make an extra hack before it came free. Grimacing as gunk landed on her from the effort, she finally watched the head fall free and the dead body sink to the grown.
"Damn it all to hell. Why couldn't it just be like the movie? You know.. PUt a damned stake through the heart and they burst into ash?? I swear, everything has to be so damned messy in real life."
Shaking off the blood on her hand and on the blade, she turned back to the man and grinned. Holding the weapon out to him, she tilted her head and looked him over. Mischief danced in her eyes as the moonlight cut through the clouds and lit the alley.
"You got some timing there, buddy! What? You miss me so much you just thought you'd join me in dancing with the devils? Oh wait.. It was my good looks and charm you couldn't stay away from.... I knew I was going to have problems with you stalking me at some point. I'm just to sexy to resist." she teased, waiting for him to take the blade. "But.. in all seriousness... What brings you to be my knight in shining armor, James? Not that I couldnt taken them myself, you know but.... "

As soon as the knife was airborne, Sebastian readied himself for the worst. He trusted Chloe, he trusted her skill, but he had learned the hardway, he had learned from years of hunting, of watching partners die or get turned, that things could go wrong. If she caught the blade funny, if she turned but the vampire read her move...anything could happen, and he knew well enough that the slightest slip, a moments delay...the entire flow of the fight could change. Gripping his gun, he raised it, pointing the barrel in the direction of the pair, forefinger resting on the trigger. If those fangs went anywhere near Chloe's neck, if it looked liked things were going south, he'd shoot, take the risk. That risk might be the only thing that saved her life. And her getting shot was better than her getting bitten...
He watched with wide, searching eyes as the action unfolded infront of him. Chloe caught the knife, the vampire grabbed her. He tensed. A seconds hesitation and... but she found a way out. Dropping one of her hands, she gripped the guesset of the creatures trousers, fingers between his legs, and she squeezed tight. It let out a yowl, loosening the bear hug it had her in, and then moments later the sound was cut short, replaced by a gurgling as its own blood filled its throat and lungs. Sebastian breathed heavily; a sigh of relief. The girl stepped away, flicking the weapon between her hands, leaning over to hack at the corpse, trying to remove the head.
Holstering the pistol, he took a few steps towards her, looking at the body rather than the girl swinging a blade at it. “Low blow, Chloe.” He smirked a little at his own joke, then just nodded as little as thanks was offered his way. “I hope you don't treat all men you meet like that. I know you liked playing touchy-feely but...” His sentence trailed off, smirk broadening into a self-confident grin, head inclining a little, motioning to the now headless corpse. “Oh, and you owe me more than one.” His hand raised to shoulder height, and he flicked his thumb back over his shoulder to the brain matter staining one of the alley walls, referencing the vampire he'd taken down on his arrival.
When Chloe turned to face him, he turned with her, making sure they were face to face, and he glanced down at the still bloody knife she held out to him. Pulling a face, he just nodded as she ranted, talking about movies and how vampires were supposed to burst into ash. Almost on cue, just as the last word left her mouth, he gave a slight shrug, then winked at her. “It's more fun if you got to get all hot, sweaty and dirty, right? Where's the fun in playing it safe?”
After a few moments pause, he reached out and took the blade from her, flicked it once around his palm, then wiped it on his combat fatiges, first one side, then the other, slow and deliberate motions, like a painter would use a brush. “I wasn't stalking you, Chloe. Happened to be in the neighbourhood, tracking this lot -” he stopped wiping to gesture around him with the blade “- and I heard a scream. Figured it would be some young, beautiful, defenseless, nubile maid about to get her face ripped off. Obviously, my sense of gentlemanly duty demanded I intervene on her behalf.” He grinned up at her, eyes sparkling in what little moonlight shone in shadowed backstreet. “Imagine my surprise when I found you.”
Finally satisfied the blade was clean, he reached back around body, sheathing it, then slipped his hands in his pockets, thumbs poking out over the sides. “And what about you? Not gonna lie Chlo, whatever your strategy was here, just seems to me like you wanted a kinky night and got surprised when people bared fangs. Bit risky going after a coven without any back up. Didn't think you were as stupid as me.” He smiled and tilted his head questioningly, before remembering he had to add something.
“And on the subject of you taking them, was that before or after the two that had grabbed you gnawed your arms from your body?”

Well, if there was one thing James was good for... It was a laugh. At his rejoinder, Chloe couldn't help but grin and then shake her head. With eyes alight in mischief, the young huntress arched a brow and then struck a sassy little pose.
"Oh, baby... You know me.. The kinkier the better. Did you bring those whips and chains around this time like I told you?? Or maybe one of them Freddy masks or something? Life can be damned dull without frisky fetishes like that, ya know." she tossed back with a little suggestive wiggle to her brows. "My style shouldn't really come as a surprise anymore now should it?? A little near death experience just makes sex all the sweetier. Get the blood going and all... Makes you feel alive and that crap."
Then, sliding out of her provocative taunt, she glanced around at the headless bodies and sighed. Drawing a booted foot back, she kicked at a head that had rolled close and grimaced.
"To bad theres a lot of work left to do... Can't leave these bodies here where just anyone can stumble on them. Think we can load them into the dumpsters and then get hte hell out of Dodge before anyone sees us?? Then maybe you can buy me a drink and tell me what the hell you been doing since I last saw you...."
Tilting her head, she knelt down and pulled the wallet from one of the dead men. Flipping it open, she frowned when she spied a current drivers license and then shook her head. Tossing the wallet back on to the body, she eyed the others thoughtfully.
"I'd bet these boys haven't been turned long. That would explain why they were so stupid about their approach. The drivers license is current and any older vampire would have known better than to draw such attention to themselves.... Makes me wonder if there is another coven around.. or whether we have a stray thats turning people left and right for the hell of it."
PUshing to her feet, she looked around the alley and then headed for the street. A quick look out wards revealed a dead parking lot and a load of trees nearby. Quirking a brow, she tossed Sebastian a look.
"If these boys are regulars at this bar..... Then my guess is they hit on the wrong woman and she decided to make them all her little bitches... She might have thought it funny to watch them destroy themselves.... Or maybe she just didn't care what happened to them ... Lots of what ifs.... To bad all we have is dead vamps and no answers."
Reaching up, she pushed a lock of hair out of her face and then sighed.
"Fuck... I need a shower now.... This was SOOOOOOO not how I envisioned the night going. Why the hell doesn't anything in my life go as planned??" she hissed out before eyeing Sebastian and arching a brow. "And how is it that you always manage to come out of a fight looking so damned pretty?? I swear.. Its a sin to look as good as you do after a battle for your life... You got some sort of beauty potion or something??"
