Well... Here they were. As the jeep pulled up outside the Winchester residence, Simi took a deep breath and then shot a glance at Ryder. He looked as nervous as she felt but she pasted on a brave smile and gave his hand a squeeze. This was something they HAD to do and as long as they did it together... Surely it couldn't be THAT bad, right? Right. Famous last words. As her new husband climbed out of the vehicle and then came around to open her side, the blond felt as if she were about to face an execution squad. Oh, she wasn't truly worried about Uncle Dean's reaction but she had a feeling neither Chey or Lisa were going to be real happy about the suddenness of the marriage. They were bound to be upset that they hadn't waited until everyone could be involved but hopefully they would understand after she and Ry explained their reasoning. Hopefully. The last thing Simi wanted was Ryders family upset with her and Chey was one of her best friends. Biting her bottom lip, Simi worried on it as she slide to the ground and then linked her arm through Ry's. Come what may, she guessed that it didn't really matter. She would walk through hell and back for him if thats what it took so she squared her shoulders and gave him a bright smile. And it was then that she saw the other car parked along the street. Bloody Hell! Cristine was here too. This kept just getting better and better. They'd actually hoped to break the news to his parents before facing off with the woman but it was unavoidable now. The cards would just have to fall where they fell. Best to get it over with. Squeezing him arm in support, Simi allowed her man to lead her up the walk and towards the house. Pausing briefly as he stepped into the house, she heard the surprised shouts and running feet . Giving him a few moments to reassure those inside, the blond gathered herself and worked for a smile.

If it hadn’t been for the seraph sitting in the seat beside him, the young hunter would have mourned the loss of the cool, clear blue-green waters beneath them or the dawn that kissed the horizon with colors only seen on that island; the paradise that had turned them from just a man and a woman to husband and wife. But she was there, and Ryder covered her balmy hand with his own and squeezed gently as they ascended up into the heavens and away from that dreamy Eden. His wife. Simi was his wife. Ryder couldn’t wipe the grin from his face as he watched her watching the earth disappear below them, a faint wistful smile whispering across her delicate features. She was so beautiful. So beautiful and so sweet and miraculous and…she was all his. The young man brought the hand up to his lips to leave a silent promise there; his eyes brightening a clearer shade of stormy when Simi turned her head to face him. She was all his. No matter what happened now-- the contract, Cristine, the wrath of his baby sister when she found out what he had done without her; it would all be easier with the savior of his soul standing next to him. His angel Simi. He didn’t let go of her hand the whole plane ride. Ever since the episode with Chey and the mutated sky squid that had nearly killed her, the young man had a thing about flying. And he didn’t let go of Simi’s hand as they left the airport, nor did he as they made the quiet ride to his parents place where they had decided to break the new of their elopement. The middle Winchester’s heart was full to near bursting with a storm of diverse emotions; each one intense in their own right. He felt trepidation at confronting Cris and it made his mouth bone dry. He was so excited about seeing the joyous look in his mother’s eyes, and feeling the slight pressure of Dean’s hand on his back in a congratulatory pat. Dread was a heavy burden that never left him either; as the unknown was a constant tapping fingertip on his back. The imagined sounds of hellhounds come to take him. But he couldn’t think about that now. Not when he had Simi’s arm wound around his as they made their way to the door. His eyes only strayed for a moment to the familiar, invading car at the drive, but they didn’t stay, instead taking strength from the smile perched on her lips; the feel of her warmth at his side. Ryder let the reflection of tiny twin smiles move his feet with more purpose; he couldn’t wait to tell his mother that little Jessie was going to have -two- playmates now. Pushing the key into the lock he turned it slowly, shoving the door ajar just as leisurely and tugging Simone in behind him. “Mom? Dad? Chey? Anybody here?” Ryder called out and absently let Simi’s hand go to rub at the top of his head. The last thing he wanted to see first was Cristine’s incredulous expression but he steeled his back and kept his face devoid of worry. He would break it to her slow and it would be okay. Everything would be okay.

Everything had been so complicated lately. Chey had half a clue what was going on. I mean, she knew that Ryder still loved Simi. Everyone knew it. But she knew that if anything happened, Ryder would have chosen her. So when her big brother went missing, and Simi dropped off the radar at exactly the same time? Come on it was a no brainer. Really, Chey had always been routing for him and Simi. Cristine had been nice enough when she was originally with Ry, but there was something about Ryder and Simi, the way he smiled around her. That was pure and that was beautiful and that was all Chey had ever wanted for her big brother. It was rare for a Winchester to smile like that and god only knew that Ryder deserved it.
Chey had been sat in the kitchen of the house. It was relatively quiet considering. Cristine had been coming over randomly to ‘hang’ with the family since Ryder had been away, they all kept telling her that Ryder must have been on a hunt or something. Even if people did suspect what was going on, none of them were going to tell the pregnant ex love of Ry’s life. Luckily for Chey, right now Cristine was ‘lying down’. Chey swore, she was sick as a dog through her entire pregnancy and she was never as…. Dramatic as Cristine. Dramatics aside, Chey was quite glad for the peace.
She was sat in the kitchen, sipping her dark sweet cup of caffeine as she switched her attention between her daughter playing with her toys on the cold tiled floor and the pile of paper work her boss had handed her the day before as she left the office. It was weird having a nine to five but Chey had to admit she was, pretty much, loving it. Besides, the money was damn good. The multitasking was going well until the sound of a husky male voice flowed through the house. The young baby crawled as fast as she could out to where her uncle’s voice was coming from and Chey did the best she could to not spill the rest of her coffee over her work as she slammed it down and chased her baby girl out to the hall way.
Chey was half tempted to scoop the imp up off the floor but she watched her eyes light up as she got closer to Ryder and Chey knew that any moment he’d be getting the leg crawling treatment she’d become so accustomed to. She was good at pulling herself up onto her legs and her momma knew it was no time before she was running around and running circles around her. A small sparkling smile spread over Chevrolet Winchester’s lips as she looked up at the man that had been her best friend since… well since the day she was born really. “Well hi there stranger..... You are real right.. this isn’t some… mirage?” She chuckled gently, looking to Simi with a gentle wink.

"Dad, I swear to ALL that's holy...if you don't put that socket wrench down, I'm gonna beat you with it!"
"Excuse me? Boy, who the hell taught you to fix an engine? I know exactly where this new piece is supposed to fit; I've been fixing this baby before you were out of your diapers! Now shut up and step back, you whiner baby!"
SNAP.
"...Oh, look, I hear voices from inside. Let's go see what's going on."
Ben's wail practically made the walls of the garage vibrate, as Dean turned about face and left the wrench on a nearby table. Bah, it served the little schmuck right; going behind his back and getting a brand new engine! The old one was just fine, but did his son appreciate the value of age? Of course not; like everyone else of his generation, old was out and new was in. Who would've known that the current year engines had a special cap on the front that needed to be gently slid on, instead of hammered in like the old one did? It wasn't his fault that Ben had grown into such an anal-retentive car owner.
Ah, yeah, that was a prick of fatherly pride. A chip off the old block, that one was...
Leaving the eldest of the Winchester brood to curse and slam things around in the garage, the Hunter strolled toward the house, wiping his oiled hands on a rag he'd snagged. Man, but times were changing, he thought to himself. Once upon a time, he would've started to scream like a little girl right alongside Ben, if something went wrong with that Impala. And while the mere thought of a nick made his eyes twitch like crazy...huh, lookit that; he wasn't ready to get down on his knees and beg forgiveness from chrome. Was he finally mellowing out? Was this some kind of subconcious acceptance that Ben was now stepping into his shoes?
...Or did that mean that he'd finally lost his ever lovin' mind? Damn, it was probably that last one; he needed to get out of this house before domesticity drove him INSANE. Where was a rabid werewolf when a guy needed one?
His boots clomped companionably on the tile as he came into the house. The sound of familiar voices had a smile curling his lips, and a familiar feeling of elation in his chest. "Is that Ryder and Simi I hear?" He called out as he rounded a corner and came into the foyer.
He really didn't have to see them; a father new when his children were about. Memories of the past few months came unbidden into his mind, and a flash of images flew by. Ryder angry at his brother, the utter pain in his eyes when they'd buried Cristine for the first time, and then the joy he'd seen directed at the James girl during the Christmas party. Fate liked to run in big, shining circles; he thought to himself as he moved through the kitchen. Now, let's just hope that this was a happy beginning of yet another one, or he'd have to hunt the bitch down.
His smile widened when he caught sight of them, and before anyone would react, he went for the bear hugs. "Well, it's about damn time that you two showed up here," He gave Ryder a few loving thumps on the back, and Simi a kiss on the cheek. "If you took any longer, I figured I'd have to come lookin' for you." More cursing could be heard as the back door slammed, and Dean rolled his eyes. "Just in time; Ben's on a rampage and I might need an intervention before I end his life."

Wow, it was strange how things could change so much yet not change at all. The house looked the same as it always had but Simi felt so uncomfortable that she shuffled her feet nervously. When Ry let go of her hand, she paused and reached up to push a lock of blond hair behind one ear. God, was it cowardly to hope that everyone was out for the moment and they could have a short reprieve?? Probably... But Simi would have done almost anything in that moment to be sprawled on that beautiful beach again with nothing more on her mind than how much sun tan lotion to put on. Unfortunately, since that really was not an option... They might as well face the music sooner, rather than later. Just as she was thinking this, she heard the sounds of someone approaching and looked up in time to take in the crawling baby Jess and Chey's face. Her words of greeting had Simi biting her lip and then grinning a bit as she caught the wink her friend sent her. Really, she couldn't help it. It was nice to see those two talking and bonding again after the hell they'd both endured over the last year. Were still enduring. And would until they figured out a way out of this damned demon deal. That thought took all amusement out of the young wife's face but the sound of another greeting took her mind off the doom and gloom. Whipping around, Simi smiled a bit at Ryder's father and then laughed a bit when she was the recipient of a bear hug and kiss on the cheek. She was still grinning as she gave Ben a wave and then settled back beside her new husband. Dean's words had her nervously twisting her hands in front of her as she tried to come up with a proper response. "Heya Uncle Dean... Chey....Ben..... " she said by way of greeting before growing suddenly a bit shy. "I ... er... Um...... Well, you see.... it was kind of.... I don't know....... We sort of.... Things were just so..... and you know how crazy...... Sometimes things just.... We just couldn't.... "
Realizing she was babbling and that she now had all eyes glued on her, Simi felt her cheeks go pink. Whirling around, she turned towards Ryder with beseeching eyes. Helplessly, she let her hands flap in the air before they fell to her sides and she remembered she was supposed to be an indomitable James lass. Indomitable her ass! she thought as she began to feel like an interesting bug under a microscope. Didn't this sort of thing usually come on the first date? Not the day or two AFTER the wedding? Good lord, it was probably a good thing they'd done the deed in Hawaii. Simi had a feeling that if she'd been this nervous before the ceremony, she might have demanded they elope or just live together in sin!!

The smell of coffee was wafting out of the kitchen and Ryder inhaled deeply, a smile turning up the corners of his lips despite the utter anxiousness he had felt just moments before. For a fleeting instant, even though the weight of the world was on his sinewy shoulders, the hunter closed his eyes and let his mind drift back in time; to a place that had always been able to soothe his soul. The young family celebrated the return of their father; intensely happy in spite of unbelievable horrors he had faced while on the road. They had gathered around the couch as his coffee brewed in the kitchen, listening to his tales of the supernatural he’d faced as if it were some children’s bedtime story. For the Winchester kids, it actually was. The ephemeral reverie was cut short by the sound of squealing, and Ryder’s lids flew open just in time to see the teeny baby come toddling out of the kitchen. Gasping in delighted surprise he scooped the toddler up, lifting her to blow a hello across her wee tummy before wrapping her in his arms. His heart was soaring again, and by the time the sound of Chey’s voice rang out in the living room like symphony, the middle Winchester was higher than the heavens. “Baby girl!” Ryder laughed happily and moved quickly towards his sister; wrapping her in his embrace the best he could with the little one wiggling around in his arms. “We’re really here Chey.” He assured her, pulling back with his stormy grey-blue eyes full of electric light. “We’re not going any where anytime soon.”He had so much to tell her; so freaking much to say. Had she known about Simi’s condition? Would she hate him for taking her as his wife without proper sisterly permission? Would she ever be able to forgive him for all the grief he had caused her? Ryder felt like he had a lot of making up to do. He owed the youngest Winchester sibling more than she ever could know and now he was going to do right by her. If he only had a little while longer to live he meant to be the best damned big brother and uncle in the whole wide world. Ryder had just let go of Chey and turned to reach for his wife’s hand when the sound of Dean’s husky voice cut through air like a knife through butter. Grown man or not, that was one sound that had always been able to turn Ry into a five-year boy again. He was wearing a sheepish, lop-sided smile when his father drew him into his arms for a great bear hug and still donning it when Dean moved on to kiss Simi’s cheek as a man would giving away his daughter at the alter. The mere thought formed a lump in his throat so big he wasn’t sure he could speak around it. He was glad for the growl that that came from the backdoor in order to distract them all, and he swallowed thickly, dislodging the knot around the same time as Simi began her adorably absent babbling. When she had thrown in the towel making any sort of cognitive explanation Ryder laughed a little, wrapping an arm around her waist and giving her a gentle squeeze that spoke silently that he was right there with her. He cleared his throat and forced a calm smile that didn’t meet his grey-blue eyes and addressed his gathered loved ones. “We ah….didn’t mean to make y’all worry.” Ryder began sheepishly, and his hand rose to rub at the back of his neck now. “I…we…well…Simi was running away...well, not running away but GOING away…and who could blame her really.” His soft, repentant gaze drifted to her radiant sapphire ones and he offered her a simple smile. One full of adoration and pride. He tore his stare reluctantly from hers to meet those of his family, giving each of them in turn, a glance that spoke only honestly. “She told me…she told me she was going to make me father. So I made her my wife.”They were the proudest words he’d ever spoken, and unbidden his eyes misted over as he pulled his wife in closer to his side. “We’re married and we’re having a baby. Two, actually.”

BEAUTIFUL DISASTER
There was nothing Chey loved more than watching her best guys with her little girl. There was something about Jessica with her uncles or her grandpa that made the room light up. Chey couldn't believe she'd once been so scared for them to know about her when she saw the way their faces lit up when she was around. Sure, sometimes she swore she heard Dean telling Jessica to call her Papa in public, but she'd never tell, especially when she knew her dad had been tweezing out those grey hairs he was finding. She'd wrapped her arms around Ryder tight as he embraced her. “Good. 'Cause I missed you. So did giggles here.” Chey tickled her daughters stomach before gently punching him in the arm because, she couldn't be tooooo nice to him now, could she? He might start shouting Cristo at her. Chey lifted Jessica out of Ryder's arms as she heard her father coming, pretty much knowing the bear hugs were coming and after all she'd been through, she didn't exactly want a squished baby.
She had to laugh at the way Simi stammered over herself and the way Ryder stepped in to help her out. It was, dare she say it, a quite normal family moment. She even found it funny that Ryder seemed to start babble as much as Simi had been. She watched him with her brows slightly raised, waiting. And then as he let the cat out of the bag, her jaw headed towards the floor. She'd never thought it actually happened. That people's jaws dropped. She thought it was an exaggeration. She could see the pride in his eyes and hear it in his voice. She couldn't believe she was going to be an aunty, or that after twenty one years of considering Simi her sister, in a way she sort of was. She couldn't believe that her big brother was finally getting the happy ending he so much deserved but Chey felt so selfish about the gentle twang in her heart as she absorbed the news.
Chey's teeth gently caught her bottom lip and she tried to loosen her eyebrows a little. “Wow... I mean... Congratulations. I'm so glad you two have each other... and two more! Wow.... We have to celebrate...” Chey moved to bound her little girl into her big brothers arms. “Here, take her... She wants you anyway. Could feel her pulling.... I'm gonna.... DRINKS.... we need drinks..... Yes.....” Sometimes the littlest Winchester forgot quite how fast she could move until something happened and this was one of those times. Dayum that girl was at the drinks cabinet quick. Mixing up something she was gonna have to call..... Rymone. Yeah that had a ring to it.

Wiping his hands on a dirty rag, Ben stomped inside after his father. The sounds of that beautiful piece of metal snapping would haunt him for the rest of his days, he thought with a brooding little glare at the back of Dean’s head. Of course, his father had to be home RIGHT when those extra parts had come in, thus getting the urge to ‘show his son how it’s done.’ It was true, Dean Winchester had indeed kept the Impala rolling for longer than he’d been drawing breath…but man, that car was his now; passed onto the next generation for a continued ass whooping. He was the one who was supposed to fix up the baby! And, if things came to it, break the damn thing!
It was with this mindset that the elder sibling came tromping into the house; his face set in a dark scowl and his eyes cast on the floor. There was a piece of pie in the fridge that was practically calling his name, but the sounds of voices in the foyer distracted him. Was that Simi? And Chey? Immediately tossing the rag into the sink, he hustled across the room and through the kitchen doorway.
…Just in time to hear the metaphorical bomb drop. Holy shit; Ryder and Simi were married.
”Well, it’s about goddamn time!” The exclamation came tumbling from his lips before he could catch it, and his own sheepish smile came onto his face. Ignoring Dean’s little glare at the outburst, he went over to the newlyweds and gave each a little hug.
Damn, but things had moved quickly, hadn’t they? It seemed like only yesterday that Simi was throwing pieces of food at him and Ryder, declaring her hatred of their ‘boy cooties…’ and Ryder was falling in love with another woman. Things were coming full circle, he thought as he gave his brother an extra squeeze and smack on the back. All that pain and anger was finally being put to rest.
And none to soon, if one had to ask him. It was good to have his family back. Real damn good.
Pulling back as Dean went in for another round of congratulatory hugging, Ben took a step back and watched the two with a wide grin. Chey was moving off for some drinks, Jessie was cooing happily at Ryder and…well, shit if his eyes didn’t burn a little.
Bah, he had to get back on the road and STAT; all this family stuff was making him chick flick into next week.

Well. There it was. The cat was out of the bag now for sure. With an inaudible squeak that was heard only by her husband, Simi closed her eyes and waited for the fall out. When nothing happened, she cautiously opened one eye and was surprised by all the happy faces. Honestly, she'd expected at least one or two questions but the look on the Winchester families faces told her that they weren't all about to toss her out on her hinny. Quiet the opposite in fact. For a moment, the relief was so great that she suspected she stood there looking like something resembling a bit of a loon. Really? Why had she ever thought that they'd want to tar and feather her? These were the same people she'd grown up with and pretty much family even before she'd taken the Winchester name. She and Chey had shared more laughs together than most sister in laws could claim and Ben was practically an older brother with how much time he spent at the James house. Her own mother claimed him as an adopted son so she really should have given them more credit. As Chey placed Jessie in her uncles arms, Simi managed a soft, almost shy smile and accepted congratulations from the patriarch of the family. The fact that Dean honestly seemed happy and Chey was offering drinks made her laugh a bit. All the tension she'd been holding in left her feeling a bit dizzy and she leaned into Ry's side as Jessie gurgled and patted his face. The happiness on his face made her happy and she couldn't help the beaming smile that spread over her lips. Oh if only like could always be so perfect. Then Ben's voice rang out and the little blond suddenly found herself spun about in a hug. HIs words made a giggle bubble out of her lungs and she almost rolled her eyes before she caught just the barest glimmer of wetness in his eyes. It was instantly sobering and she realized how much that the others had worried. Would still worry. Reaching out, she placed a hand on his arm and squeezed. There was still so much to sort out.. to do.. but as long as they had each other... they would see it done. That in mind, she glanced at the others gathered and nodded her head as if in agreement ot her own thoughts. Yes, as long as they all had each other.. they could do anything. Even take on a scheming asshole of a demon.

Ryder couldn’t seem to corral little Jessie, nor did he really want to. Even though the little imp was a tawny-haired little ballerina, Ryder could see in her his baby sister Chevrolet. It made a place in his heart weaken for just a moment; as reveries of a past that was so far gone haunted his soul. She giggled and squirmed and the self-loathing that had taken up permanent residence since all this had started seemed to pack a bag and vaca; they were beginning to heal. Little by little. The middle Winchester sibling fidgeted like a little boy getting his cheeks pinched when he was hugged, a sheepish cock-sided smile lifting the corners of his mouth at the pride in his father’s stormy eyes. Even the casual comments of approval from Ben tugged the young hunter by the heartstrings. He’d done good for a change. Real Good. A beaming smile shifted towards his pregnant mate and all else in the room faded for just a moment. His wife. His babies… No one would ever take them. Ever. When Jessie started squealing in a pitch high enough to shatter glass Ryder ducked his head and passed her off to the next person; the person for whom those chubby little pink arms were reaching anyway. His grey-blue orbs shifted to Chey’s retreating back and for a second his smile vanished as if it was never there. Even through the thick glittering rainfall of celebration and adoration the young man could see a cloud of pain ghost through the room; and though it paused at each one of his family members brow it didn’t settle over anyone save Chey at the bar. “Chey’s right…we need drinks. Im’a go help her ‘cause you all know what kind of waitress she is…” Ryder chuckled and dipped his head to give Simi a lingering peck on the lips; his bright eyes leaving a kiss in her gaze as well. He moved off to join Chey at the bar, leaning his hip against it and thrumming his fingertips across the smooth wooden surface. “Whats doin’ baby sister?” Ryder asked harmlessly as he watched the woman pour out her own concoction and wrinkled his nose at the offensive color it created. “What’s been going on with my Chey? You been staying out of trouble?” Ryder absently pushed off the side and went round to wrap his hands around a bottle of Jack Daniels, lifting three shot glasses out of the lower cabinet and pouring out a bit of the amber fluid in each one. The empty motions gave him a moment of clarity and Ry wondered at what had his sibling so pensive. “Listen…Chey…it happened so fast. I mean…I didn’t even know I was gon’ ask her until the words just tumbled out. If I could do one thing different…the only thing different…you guys would have been there.”Once the shots were poured for his dad, his bro and him, the young man reached for a champagne glass and filled it with OJ from the mini fridge under the bar. His gaze had gone cloudy despite the sunlight that filled him. “We just don’t know how long we have. I just couldn’t wait a single moment…”Would she understand? Would any of them really understand? The burden the young hunter felt on his shoulders was not impending death or a one-way trip to hell, but the fact that he would leave things undone here on earth. He wanted to make things right for everyone he had made to suffer.
