But I've already fallen I've already lost control I've already missed And I've already sold my soul And I've already cried And I wish that I was flyin' But I'll keep on fallin' Florian's words were soft, gentle, and as always full of confidence. Madison wished she had even a fraction of the confidence that Florian so easily projected. Madison's chest loosened from his words alone and she began to relax in his arms, forcing the anxiety back. Then he touched her cheek, kissed her softly and everything he said she already believed. Florian had never let her down. Not even with the whole Darian situation. Madison never blamed him, nor could she ever. It hadn't been his fault and despite what many believed he was only human. Darian knew how to make Florian vulnerable. Despite everything that happened there was never a moment when Madison blamed him. When he left though, Madison understood. There was nothing to forgive there either, but she had longed for his return. It was amazing that despite how many people Madison had been around, how easy it was to feel utterly alone. Now he was here though and Madison had missed the soft rumble to his voice. The gentle touch of his warm hands on her skin. How he could so easily make a scary situation not seem so terrible. Even the prospect that it could be something supernatural was better then it being some sort of mental disorder. Besides, if it was, Madison knew that Florian would know exactly what to do - and if he didn't, Florian would figure it out. Madison's breath began to even out as Florian spoke of going to Lillian. Biting her lip, Madison thought about that. She wasn't sure who she wanted knowing. Florian trusted Lillian, so Madison did by proxy, but telling her something this personal about Madison? She wasn't sure she was comfortable with that. "Maybe...maybe we can try and figure it out on our own first." It was more a statement then a request. Madison was not comfortable in her own skin. Right now she was more comfortable in Florian's arms then anywhere. Taking a deep breath she looked up at him. "I like Lillian but this is-" It was what? Scary? Disconcerting? Embarrassing? All of the above? "I'm just not sure..." Madison trailed off again unsure of how to explain it without sounding like a horrible person or that she didn't like Lillian. Lillian was a smart, strong, beautiful woman and Madison considered her a friend, but - "I'm just not sure I want anyone else to know yet."Before Florian answered Madison was up on her feet pacing. "I mean I'm just tired of being seen as a civilian who always needs to be pulled out of trouble, and I know I've had to be sometimes - okay maybe a lot." Madison was rambling. "And I know I'm not special like you or Brennan or Charlie and that I'm just ordinary, and now I've got this crazy thing going on, but I guess I just don't want everyone to look at me as the woman who needs rescuing again or who's hearing voices now."Sighing Madison looked over at him wearily. "I just...I'm just tired." She rubbed her face in frustration realizing that half of her ramble probably hadn't made sense, but she hadn't been sleeping well. Florian was home and they had a daughter to take care of. Madison was on leave from work but everything was weighing down on her. "I'm sorry." She told him again and shook her head. "I know I'm not making much - " Her voice trailed off, head tilting to the side for a moment as she began to hear the voices again. Groaning she put her hands to her head willing it all to stop so she could just get on with her life and be a woman Florian could be proud of and the mother Charlie deserved. Instead of the mess she seemed to be.

"We can try to figure it out on our own first, if that's what you want," he said softly, stroking her hair. "But I have to be honest with you Madison, if it is some sort of psychic power awakening, there's little I can do. Maybe I could teach you some mind-clearing mental exercises and meditation techniques, but that's about it..."
Rubbing her back soothingly, Florian remained silent, letting a small amount of reiki energy flow from his body into Madison's, to try and relax her as much as possible. He understood where Madison was coming from, and he'd do everything he could to help her before they were forced to look elsewhere.
"We'll figure something out, don't worry," he told her. "And you don't have to be a hunter or have powers to be special Madison, how many times do I have to tell you that? You've saved our lives just as many times as we've saved yours. Brennan and I, and Sastre, and a lot of other people would be dead by now if it weren't for you."
He gently tilted her chin up when he said this, locking eyes with her and letting her see exactly how honest he was when he spoke. And it was completely true. After all, hadn't that been how their relationship had started in the first place, with Florian--then Sastre--having been injured and near death until Madison had saved his life. And how many countless times since then had she patched him up, along with all of their other friends and family members?
"I love you Madison, and I will never lie to you. You are special, whether you see it or not."
Further conversation was cut off as the young woman was seemingly struck with yet another round of the mysterious voices. Florian's heart ached for her as she groaned and doubled over in his lap, and his hands immediately went to the sides of her head, covering Madison's own as he channeled his reiki into her.
After a few moments, he gently scooped her up in his arms and walked her into their bedroom. Laying her down on the bed, he crawled in behind her, wrapping his arms around her and holding her close. He clenched his eyes shut and tried in vain to simply will her discomfort and pain away, though he knew it was no use.
But, honestly, what else could he do for her?

But I've already fallen I've already lost control I've already missed And I've already sold my soul And I've already cried And I wish that I was flyin' But I'll keep on fallin' Madison wasn't sure how true that was. That she'd saved their lives as many times as they'd saved hers. It wasn't that Madison didn't believe in her skills as a doctor. She was quite confident in that area, and yes she had patched up Florian, Sastre, and Brennan and some point or another. Despite that she was a civilian, one they saw the need to protect. It was hard, always being protected. Maybe it should have been easy but it made her feel like maybe they didn't trust her to stand on her own two feet. Then again with everything that was going on, maybe it was just Madison who didn't trust herself anymore. Florian had picked her up, brought her to bed. Madison hadn't even noticed, not until the voices stopped. She squeezed her eyes closed as if trying to lock away everything she had just heard before turning to face Florian, snuggling as close to him as she could get. Madison breathed in his scent, that familiar, comforting scent that was Florian. The words 'I'm sorry' were on the tip of her tongue again, but she clipped them off. Instead she tilted her head, leaning in and she kissed him, wanting to feel anything other then the fear that thrummed through her veins. His lips were soft and warm and the soft kiss sent a new sensation through her, helping to push back the fear. Florian was here. In the end that was all she needed. She wrapped her arms around him, not wanting to break the kiss, wanting something else, something more so that she could forget about this all of this for just a little a while. Reaching a hand up she brushed it softly, through his hair, lips still against his. She wondered how just a simple touch from him managed to push back everything else, but it did. It always had. In truth it was nice to have some time to themselves, even if Madison's face was tear streaked and she was an absolute mess. It was okay, because Madison knew Florian loved her. "I love you," She whispered softly against his lips.

More than anything else, he'd missed this during his time away. Just having Madison so close, in his arms... It was something that he'd never thought possible back when they'd first met, and something that he'd come to rely on and--perhaps--take for granted. In the year and more that he'd been gone, there had been times when Florian was sure he'd never have this again, never even see Madison again...
Realizing that his body had tensed up at the memories, Florian relaxed, returning Madison's kiss and letting his hands slide down her back until they rested at her hips, gently pulling her closer.
He never wanted to lose her again. He needed her, as much as he needed the air he breathed. Madison had become so much a part of him that he couldn't even imagine how he'd gone so long without her. And now they were together again, and they had a little girl who needed them, and everything was going to be perfect.
They just had one more speed bump to deal with... And Florian had no doubt that, somehow, they'd figure this out.
"I love you too," he told her, breathless from the kiss, his body trembling a bit at just having her so close. "And I can't tell you how much I've missed you... Missed this."
Holding her close, Florian captured Madison's lips once more, letting all of his worries drift away--at least for now--while she was in his arms.

But I've already fallen I've already lost control I've already missed And I've already sold my soul And I've already cried And I wish that I was flyin' But I'll keep on fallin' Madison was just as breathless. Her heart pounded wildly in her chest from the warmth of Florian's touch. The caress of his fingers against her skin touched so much deeper then flesh. Somewhere deep inside of her that made Madison quiver from him being so close. It had been entirely too long that he was gone. Her heart had ached and broken wishing him here, wishing him home. The letters had disappeared and Madison feared the worst, but she hoped. She always hoped. Now he was here and she was hearing voices. Maybe she was going crazy. Maybe she wasn't. Madison didn't know, but Florian seemed sure that they would overcome this. He was her strength in so many ways. Without him, Madison would be lost. Here with him, everything else was forgotten. Florian always had a way of pushing everything back, letting Madison get lost in the moment with him. Now, as they came to each other, hands caressing, bodies molding to one another Madison was at peace. The voices were a shadow in the back of her mind, Florian's presence, his touch the force driving them back.

He lay silently, his mind turning endlessly as he held Madison, lightly running his fingers along her shoulder and upper arm. The young woman remained just as still and quiet as Florian, and the retired-hunter wasn't sure if she was awake or not. In the end, it didn't really matter, so long as she was comfortable, and able to relax.
The image of Madison curled up in the corner of the kitchen was still fresh in Florian's mind, and it made his stomach twist. To see her so hopelessly forlorn, her body wracked with sobs, her face tear-streaked and frightened... It had hit him harder than anything had in a very long time, and he silently prayed to a God that he wasn't even sure he believed in that he'd never have to see that again, that somehow they'd figure this out and everything would be fine again.
Try as he might to push his worries aside--at least for the time being--Florian found his mind returning over and over to that one, far-fetched possibility that he hadn't allowed himself to consider at first. It was a terrifying thought, really, and one that he was almost certain would tear their fledgling family apart. Closing his eyes, he dropped into a light trance, knowing that doing so would allow his body to relax fully, as well as the main part of his mind, while at the same time giving his subconscious time to work at the problem undisturbed.
He didn't know what was happening, but he'd be damned if he was going to let it hurt his family. Somehow they'd fix this... He just wasn't sure how.
