Shades of Darkness.
That is what Lexi felt all around her as her murky mind struggled back to consciousness. Moaning softly, she rolled on her side and then frowned as her cheek met something cool to her cheek. Brows furrowing, the blond fluttered her eyelashes even as she brought a hand up to touch the cold cement that she knew would account for the hard surface under her slim body. The feel of something wet and sticky under her fingers was incentive enough for her mind to fully awaken and she bolted upright with a motion that sent pain wracking through her brain, not to mention nausea rolling in her middle.
Without thought, she reached to grasp her head only to pull up short as a dark, almost black color caught her eye. Staring at her hand in incomprehension, it took a full moment for the truth to sink in. The thick blackened substance on her skin was blood and the horrific nightmares she'd recently been having slammed into her with a force that buckled her over.
Oh God.. What had she done?
Forcing herself to think as rationally as possible, she had a vague memory of arriving in Las Vegas to speak with Stolas. After an intense exchange of offers, she knew she'd agreed to something but the details were murky. She couldn't remember anything from that point on except Delilahs satisfied smirk. The stunning red head had been up to something but Lexi had been gambling for bigger stakes than her own well being. She'd been gambling for her daughters.
That realization made her push herself up right and then a gasp escaped her and her eyes shot to her surroundings. Glimpses of the night before danced in and out of her mind but she couldn't seem to latch on to anything. She remembered that Stolas had urged her to punish someone. A weak, cruel man who beat his wife and molested his children. The intense need to lash out at him for the evil he was responsible had been like a sweet seduction. In the darkness recesses of her mind, she saw herself following the bastard.... Right into this garage.
And then...... OH GOD. No!
As remembrance hit her hard, her gaze went to where the mangled body of a man laid near an expensive sports car. What she saw made her stomach heave and she barely managed to force herself to her feet and to the corner of the barren underground parking lot before emptying its contents. Oh god. What had she done? How had she lost control so badly? More importantly, why couldn't she remember how all this had come about?
Once her stomach had somewhat righted itself, Lexi slumped against the wall and stared at the blood covering her hands. Tears and defeat battled with self loathing even as she lifted her face and gave up a prayer. Surely this wasn't what it looked like. Surely she hadn't killed a man in an act of brutality that made her no better than the demons.

There are times when god commands the heavenly hosts to perform command that are of utmost importance and then there are others then an Angel takes an active interest in a charge. One could say with all the action in the world, the old days of patience were few in number tending to be infrequently met with subtlety, but instead faced with the straightforward brash actions from the chaos of the unexpected. Though through the chaos Remliel truly tested his ability to adapt to any situation. It was as if he saw the world through the eyes of a spectator, whilst he was fully apart of it. Remliel, so separated and disconnected from the' dream', 'the ether', 'heavens', 'hell', 'purgatory', or 'the planes. It was the nature of a watcher to by definition, was to watch over things making him perfect for this job of awakening. It wasn’t what he was created for though it was what he has been doing for ages now.
One such an unexpected turn of events proved that humans could still surprise an angel at times.
Remliel had arrived from nowhere just simply appearing in the underground garage. His charge laid amongst the ground while blood spilt from a near by dead body. For a moment he was stricken with a sudden empathy and sympathy for Alexis causing him to hold a stoic expression. He knelt by her side watching as she laid unconscious on the ground. His thoughts were interrupted when he looked towards the dead man. Remliel was met with a the questioning gaze from a servant of death, a female Reaper adorned in a simple business suit who was escorting the dead mans soul to the afterlife where he would no doubt end up in Hell.
Looking back to Alexis he sat by her side cross-legged letting her rest on the concert in undisturbed slumber. Some time past as he sat invisible to the world like most angels do when wanting to roam unseen across the world. ”Time to wake up…” His words said telepathically would travail across her subconscious to pull her from her dreams and into reality. He stood up watching as Lexi awoken to the horrific scene.
Once Lexi was leaning against the wall Remliel simply reappeared becoming visible again. His eyes were kind, his smile soft fully of a compassion that showed he was their to help. ”Seeking to protect the things you care about the most by giving up everything you have. Its not 'How then do you fight an enemy that would steal all of that from you'. The true question is, how would you fight the enemy that can make you take it from yourself? Lowering his voice he spoke almost in a whisper squeezing her hand lightly. ”Once you begin to face that illusion, you see the one that can pull the right stings because, you, you only know your true fears, You steal yourself away from your laughter, your family, your friends and most importantly your ~love~. Giving all that you hold dear to protect them, leaving yourself so far misguided, and you have already lost before you have begun.

Once upon a time... Lexi probably would have been startled by a man appearing out of thin air in front of her. Once upon of time, she would have no doubt scream and threw a punch of power at him. Once upon a time was not today though.
Her fairytale story had turned into a tale worthy of the Grimm Brothers.
With dazed eyes, Lexi took in the figure of the man standing before her but couldn't even begin to try to compute where he'd come from or why. His words poured over her but the haze that filled her head made it hard to concentrate. The knowledge that he was an angel filled her and she couldn't help but wonder if he was there to destroy her. Would he put an end to her sorry existance? Would he smite her for the things she had done under the influence of Stolas? Whatever that influence turned out to be?
Then, as his meaning seemed to work its way through her mind, she froze and looked up at him. When he took her hand and gave her that compassionate gaze, she felt herself fracturing. The cracks that had been made by life and her current circumstances shattered the fragile hold she had on her control. As if a dam had busted, all her tears roiled over its bank and plunged down her soul. Choking on the overwhelming emotions, she gave one almost hysterical laugh before shaking her head.
"How can I ever face them now?? Having done this??" she whispered, gaze bright with to many emotions to count. "I came here to help my daughter.. IN the only way I know how.. And looks what has come of it! I thought I had it all under control until the last year... and its all ... come unraveled. I don't even know who or what I am anymore..."
Tossing her hands in the air helplessly, the winesome blond motioned the the scene around them.
"I've always tried to hard to be the good guy... I've done what I've felt was right... I've never let myself cross over that line that keeps us all on the straight and narrow... and now... Now this... How can I go back and pretend this never happened? I don't... I don't even understand it all...."
