He looked around sheepishly, tapping his coffee mug awkwardly with a clumsy finger. The coffee spilt but he jumped fast with a lighting flash reflex so as to limit the damage to his khaki combats and light blue polo. Like he needed a reason to be more skittish. He pulled out a handful of napkins from the dispenser and patted down the spill with a frustrated sigh. Why had he come back to this place? It made him feel so sick. He looked around again nervously at the nearly empty diner. Most would consider him a coward for leaving in the first place, but it wasn’t the first time.
He loved his family to the best of his ability but he hated his life hunting. His actions highlighted the unattractive cowardice all to present within his nature, but he felt this uncontrollable urge to flee, as if he could somehow, in someway trick the fates into giving him a life of normality. All he found though, were fleeting and unfulfilling glimpses of it. Nothing in life was that simple; his past would never leave him, and he would have to, if he was welcome, have to make do with the life he hated and resented. He’d even considered suicide, although this coffee was in his mind a more disturbing option.
The waitress walked past, hardly containing her own amusement at what had just happened. She looked simple, and he resented her serving him. He was peace loving usually and definitely not a character for conflict, however he had changed in his own mind through bitterness and couldn’t think of anything he’d enjoy more than punching the woman. He couldn’t bring himself to ever do such a think however. Yes, he was truly a coward, even if this time it was in the favour of moral behaviour. Instead he fiddled with his watch noticing it was 15 minutes past his scheduled meeting with his sister.
Makayla was lucky and that’s all he felt towards her. At its root he was jealous of her although he would never admit it. She’d been a bully to him all his life and their relationship was rocky at its best, but for some reason he felt he had to meet up with her first to tell her why he’d left, not as the frightened 10 year old or the rebellious 18 year old but now as an emerging adult, refusing to accept the life he had been born into. She would know everything he would need to know too. How mum and dad were, and his siblings.
The bell on the door rang in a jolly chime, inappropriate and unnatural in the now developing reunion. He saw her standing, unsure about how she would react. A year hadn’t changed her much, but he didn’t think he even resembled the person she’d once known. Whether she would lord it over him or whether they would have a full on brawl in the quiet out of town diner he’d gotten to know all to well he was unsure. He used to know what to expect, but not anymore. For all Bradley knew, 1 and 1 could make 3.

Post by Makayla Rose Rhys - Damara on Sept 15, 2011 16:08:31 GMT -5
Life was always hectic for the Rhys-Damara lot. One thing about their family was there was never a dull moment. They had so much going on and so many people who are like family with issues and on goings to help keep life interesting not to mention the critters that go bump in the night to keep them on their toes.
Not all of the family is in the hunting line, but almost all of them had gone to the academy and created bonds and have a little mini side family. Some siblings Makayla talks to more the the others. Therefore, she was shocked when she heard from Bradley.
One thing about Makayla. She loves her family she will die for them if she had to, but she is always the one that tends to make those she cares about lives hell. She was always the devilish one and it was where she had earned her nickname from some. She pushes them to their limits to see how they crack. SHe had a twisted sense of humor at times, and when she won't leave you be it is because she cares. The family has always been pretty close, but Bradley she always butted heads with him. He didn't seem to like the ways he is, but hell she didn't care if he liked it or not it is what he got. She picked on the other boys not in the family more then the ones in her own family.
Sure she teased them and bullied them she bullied everyone, but seriously those not of her flesh and blood got it worse. Cooper is a prime example of getting it worse. She tormented the dude non-stop, but hey, he is a decent gentleman now isn't he? He turned out fairly well. She was beyond shocked when Bradley wanted to meet her. She got an address and said she'd be there of course fashionably late. Was she ever on time for anything? Hell, if she ever got married she'd probably be fashionably late to that too.
Things in her world were slowly changing with all the drama in the family, but they were all hanging in there the best that they could at least. Life was full of surprises. She had made her way to the dinner she was told to meet at and slipped threw the doors, and spotted the man that resembled her brother, and walked over to him. She thinks it has been a year or so since she last seen him. It felt like longer then that probably because everything going on around them.
It was a quiet fall afternoon for the dinner they must have already passed the lunchtime rush. "Well, well well look what the cat dragged home." She remarked, and slide into the seat across from him, checking her watch. "Is anyone else coming?" She would be shocked if he only called her of all people. "So what is it that you want little bro? Are you in some sort of trouble?" She asked. She was curious as to why he was home and hadn't called until now. She motioned the waitress over and asked for a coffee, and waited for an explanation of some sorts!
TAGS l Bradley LOCATION | Diners TIME FRAME |September WEARING | Coming Soon NOTES | since there is a lot going on and I know Maggie tried to fill you in with the happenings of the family so I made this thread real time Sept since I didn't know where to place it. So figured most of the drama's would have already taken place, and the siblings would be home like Anna etc.
