Target practice, that was on the agenda for Tinny's day. The trail had been a little cold lately and instead of obsessing about finding a hunt like her brother Jake had been doing for the past week, she thought it was best she put her time and effort into practicing and perfecting her skills. They were currently shacked up in a road side motel about a twenty minute walk from where she was now, in the middle of the woods. She'd had to walk most of the way through the trees for a girl walking down the highway with a bow and arrow set slung around her shoulder generally attracted more attention than she liked. As she reached back she felt the ends of the arrows to determine which they were. She had memorized the feeling. Currently she had four different options. Iron tipped, Silver tipped, Explosive tipped, and holy water filled. They all had a different weight and feeling when she fire them and the water and explosive ones weren't exactly for practice. Those arrows were a last resort, or needed in an emergency for of deal. So, she pulled her the Iron one since those were her usual, and started to line up her shot. A tree about 30 yards in the distance was her current target. Not that it was much of a challenge, what she really should have been doing was hunting animals, but her brothers had reminded her it was a waste of meat since they couldn't bring the animals on the road with them. Maybe...just maybe she would kill a squirrel or ten, they didn't have to know and those things weren't for eating, and generally a nuisance. Lately she'd been slacking on her hunts, getting soft letting her emotions get to her. She'd let a few walk! walk away! What was she thinking? After shooting a couple arrows she began to sing a song her oldest brother scolded her for. A lullaby her father had sung them when they'd been younger, it was engraved into her memory, no matter how hard she tried to forget it, and occasionally in the car she would break into the song. Jimmy generally sang along while Jake gave them both a look to kill. He probably wanted to forget, but Tinny couldn't allow herself to do it. She sang "if in darkness your day begins, find the light and let it in, you're not alone, even so far away from home. Somewhere a heart is breaking, a ship is lost at sea, a soul has been forsaken, people fighting to be free, somewhere a star is falling, a bird afraid to fly, a lonesome lover's calling, so baby dry your eyes" she didn't know if it was the day, or that she hadn't really been able to sing it for a while but the words struck her more than ever before. Had her father known that someday things would be this bad? That they'd be without him and need a reminder of what they were doing. She sighed slightly at the thought. No, he hadn't known or he never would have kept them in the dark about it, he would have protected them and let Grandfather train them earlier, prepare them better for this life. Instead the death of their parents had sort of thrust them frightened and alone to a Grandfather they'd never really known and a life full of the unknown. At that thought she felt her anger build and picking up her bow again shot an arrow towards a tree top, watching as a squirrel came falling to the forest floor. "bulls eye" she muttered.

The woods they were like a home to him. He felt comfortable in the woods. Perhaps it is because of what he is. Who really knew? The cities were nice with all their flashing lights and drama going on, but sometimes you just have to get away and there is nothing better then the sweet serenity of the woods. Wild animals stalking their pray. Natures own playground and it was soothing and calming. Living in the cities just seemed to get him into trouble so for now Gage seemed to keep reserved and stay in the woods where he got a secluded cabin away from all the ruckus of the world.
He may not be normal and some would think of him as a freak, but he is the way he is for a reason, and part of that is because of his wolfish nature and not the fact that he is a bit loopy in the head after what happened to Lydia. He is indeed working on things, and decided to go out for a jog down the trails of these woods. It was fun and it made him feel a bit more at home. He is a little bit away from his pack, but they are never far at all. He could hear things whistling in the distance, and landing with a thud so of course he had to go investigate what it was. He was curious. Yes they say curiosity killed the cat, but he isn't a dang cat so he didn't have to worry right?
Sweet sounds of a lullaby filtered threw the air, and he followed the sound, only to find there was a girl playing with arrows alone in the woods. It made him arch a brow. What did she think she was doing? She then had killed a squirrel with one of them and the critter landed on the ground with a huge thud squealing to death till it died making him cover his ears from the horrid sound it had been giving off.. "What do you think you are doing? You shouldn't be out here all on your lonesome little girl."
|
He asked her and told her how she shouldn't be out there alone. It was for her own good, which may startle her seeing as he came out of nowhere and she is armed. The dying critter was probably calling for back up where there is one there are a hundred more. They maybe small, but in numbers they really could do a number on a person. She looked young so she couldn't be traveling a lone now could she? She had to have family looking for her, and he could smell that she was a human, but she could be a very threat-ful human still… she does have a bow after all. [/div] There's no escape for me. sorry took me so long his muse is hiding away so it see,s <3 hope it works.

Tinny turned her attention quickly when she heard the voice asking her what it was that she was doing in the forest all by herself. " What never seen someone doing target practice?" she asked casually. Archery was a dying art form, it had been for a long time but there was just something about it that gave her a rush, something she couldn't explain. Maybe it made her feel like a superhero hero, like Robin Hood shooting down rich corrupt men, stealing from them and giving to the poor. Okay, so she wasn't exactly Robin Hood but it definitely felt cool. "Little girl?" she asked with a bit of a laugh, she hadn't been called that in a long time at least not by someone who wasn't a relation to her in some way. She lowered her bow as she settled her dark eyes on the man before her. "You might want to be careful what you call the girl who's armed" she teased. He looked normal, like a human being at least but that didn't mean anything in her line of work. She wondered about the tests she could perform at a distance, it seemed like slight paranoia but generally upon meeting people she had no choice but to slip some holy water into their drink, or try to slip the word 'christo' into conversation and see how they reacted. It was sad that she had to do this to everyone, it was probably the main reason she didn't make new friends easily, or at all really. That probably also had a great deal to do with the fact that she was never in one place for more than a week or so, she used to hate the fact but now she realised that things were better that way for the other people at least. She seemed to be a trouble magnet which meant that the people she spent her time around were usually dragged into the touble along with her. Not fair, and so as much as she hated keeping to herself she had no other choice, endangering other people knowingly wasn't right and she had to accept that. "I might as you the same thing, if I'd been aiming when you appeared you might have scared me into shooting you" she stated.

It wasn’t typical for him to see anyone in his neck of the woods. It usually was quiet out there so for this girl to be lingering about in the woods wasn’t at all normal for him. He had his cabin a ways up in the woods away from civilization. So was there a search for a missing person or something? He was curious, but he did ask what she was doing out here all by her lonesome and got some witty remark about hasn’t he ever seen someone doing target practice? So that meant there couldn’t be a hunt for someone missing she was just practicing. “Haven’t seen anyone practicing in a long while. Most don’t come out this way.”
|
He had rebutted. “You never know what could find you.” It was the truth. Could be a bear, a mountain lion, and a wolf. It was never known what could be out here. Could be something that kills her before she even gets the shot off. She didn’t seem to like the fact that she had been called little girl, but that is what she is isn’t it? She seems so young, but perhaps she just looked young for her age who knows. “Well you seem like such a young girl, so I called you that. I haven’t the slightest idea what your name is.” It probably was better then some of the other names that could have lingered off his lips. He scanned the area wondering if there was anyone else around, but she did seem like she had been alone, but he wanted to make sure she didn’t know what he is, and wasn’t here to kill him. He did tend to shy away from most humans, and he hasn’t at least he didn’t think he has given anyone any indication that he isn’t 100% human. She had also told him that he should be careful what he calls a girl that is armed… “Would you prefer little lady, then?” He asked seeing, as he doesn’t know her name. He had gone on about her and how she shouldn’t be out here alone. It was the truth a pretty young thing shouldn’t be out alone. She said she could ask him the same question… In addition, how she could have shot him if she had been startled. “ I suppose then I would have had to take my chances, and hoped that I got out of the way in time before the arrow made impact.” He had said with a slight shrug. “Thankfully it didn’t come to that now did it? Unless you are plotting to still shoot me.” He had remarked. Was she plotting to shoot him? Was she a hunter that hunts his kind? He wasn’t sure. “So tell me what is it that you like to hunt in the woods?” He asked. He was curious. “I know I have seen a lot of interesting things in these woods.” it was true he had. He has seen some deer, some wild dogs, some skunks, possums, raccoons and more. It after all is natures playground and he loved it. He loved the sound of nature and not that of cars in the city. “ My name is Gage by the way.“ he said introducing himself finally. He really was curious about her. He didn’t see many people out here. Most were scared to come in these woods for some reason. The people he bought the cabin from seemed terrified of these woods and he has yet to discover why besides the animals that dwell within them. It was something maybe he had to do some digging on and was curious as to see if she had heard anything of these woods. [/div] There's no escape for me. Hope this works let me know <3.
