So apparently... Being a secretary wasn't an easy job. After days of being hassled by an 8 year old about when exactly he got his date with Rumour... She gave in. He could have the damn date!! She'd called Rumour and she said that Ever was working so Thaila swung by and got the kids before heading to Rumour's. The fact the young boy had gone all out, putting on a shirt and a clip on tie with his jeans made the Sixteen year old vampire beam!! She was so glad it was summer. The use of sun hats to hide from the harmful effects it had on her kind, looked rather kooky in the mid of winter. So here she was. Stood at Rumour's door with Astrid in a push chair and Xavier insisting that she was HIS date, HE got to ring the bell.

Although the 24 year old had originally planned on wearing shorts and a tee on her date to Chuck E Cheese, when Thaila had rung her, (and after the third try Rumour had managed to answer the damn thing) and told her hw the 8 year old had gone all out with a clip on tie, Rumour decided to make an effort. So, after raiding wardrobes and throwing something together, Rumour opened the dor in a pair of heels, wet look black leggings, dark coloured shorts, and a white dress shirt she had stolen from Ever, cinched beneath her barely there boobs with a black belt. Jewellery was non existent, but she had eyeliner, and had pulled her hair back in a messy style that showed off the butterflies that flew behind her ear. Grinning down at the well dressed Eight year old, Rumour did a little twirl "Do i meet your high standards Xavier? because i must say, you look very dashing."

Thaila had been so good so far at NOT laughing at Xavier's passing comments. But when he came out with "Ho-Mama! YOU'RE HOT!" Thaila almost died laughing. The pregnant teen giggled away, clutching her stomach as a two year old turned in her seat to try and see what all the fuss was about. "Oooookay. Can I use your bathroom before we head off?"

Attempting to keep a straight face, Rumour opened the door to the small apartment she shared with Ever and nodded. "Of course! Come in - it's just thought that door" She pointed, indicating the second door to the left of the kitchen.

Thaila quickly wheeled Astrid inside, the young girl completely content with sucking on the ring pop she'd swiped out of Thaila's purse earlier that day. "I'll just be a second." She said, shoving all her stuff onto her push chair and running to the bathroom, shouting back "NEVER GET PREGNANT." as she shut the door. Quickly followed by a snarky 8 year old "This is why I'm not putting eggs in your tummy."

Any attempt at keeping a straight face was lost with the 8 year olds comment, and Rumour hid her snicker behind her hand, turning her head away untill the silent giggles subsided, and she could turn back with a serious face. "That is very much appreciated Xavier. really." she smiled. "looking forward to our date?"

"Yeah. It's going to be great. Chuck E Cheese is the SHIT!!" Even just ear wigging from the bathroom, Thaila had to giggle gently. She didn't know where he got it from. It was so entertaining, but she was a little worried how much trouble it could get him in later in life. Thaila knew that Xavier had troubles at school, she'd taken a couple of calls on Lexi's behalf, and that he struggled to make friends, but as she giggled away, she couldn't understand why. When she left the bathroom, Xavier was busy telling Rumour all about his comic books and who his favorites were. Thaila walked towards him flicking damp hands at her his face to send drops of water flying towards him. "How are you doing Rumour?"

Rumour had to admit, this kid had spunk. If Thaila were to tell her that Xavier had trouble making friends, she wasn't sure she would believe the teenaged vampire. It was hard to believe that a kid who was so.... out there and upfront with his opinions could have trouble making friends. after all, he was funny, witty, and liked to talk. If he was what? 15 years older? Ever might have had some serious competition on his hands from the sandy haired little boy, who was refusing to put eggs in her tummy. Catching Thai's hand as she walked past, Rumour gave it a squeeze. "I'm good. How you holding up? With the uh... sickness and stuff?" She asked, whilst Xavier wiped the spray drops from his face, and sort of glad for the break in a discussion on comic books she was entirely winging.

Thaila smiled as she squeezed her friend's hand back. "I'm okay. It's starting to slow down. For a little while it was all day every day. But now it seems to stick to the morning unless something finds a way to turn my stomach. But I'm good. Dealing." She smiled geniunely at the waif of a brunette stood before her. Looking back to Xavier, she poked her tongue out quickly at him before looking back to Rumour. "Should we go? We can chat while this one plays games."

Standing once more, Rumour nodded and embraced the slight blonde quickly. It was surprising really, the effect the vampire had on the vixen - there where very few people whom Rumour would touch or allow herself to be touched by outside the boundaries of sex, yet she openly embraced the girl in front of her. Perhaps it was the others open frendliness. Perhaps it was her sweet nature. or perhaps it was the nightmares of a past the two had escaped that bonded them together. Either way, Rumour was glad for the girl and her non judgemental friendship. She inspired a niceness in the brunette that she often forgot, and that few ever saw. "Yes. let's go! Chuck E Cheese awaits, and i can't remember the last time i ate there." Still grinning, she offered a hand to her date, and hooked an arm through Thai's.

Thaila couldn't help but giggle, her arm in Rumours and taking the handles off the push chair and navigating carefully out the door. "Oh well, I'm completely new to Chuck E Cheese. You'll have to help me if I get scared and confused." These were things the blonde had to learn. She was, after all, going to be a mother herself soon. She couldn't pass the baton to someone else and think 'well It's Lexi's responsibility to take him to these places'. This baby was all on her. Well... and Oregon. With that they were on their way to the cheezy chuck.

Rumour had never been to one of these places before, or anything remotely similiar, and when she first walked through and breathed in that mix of children, plastic, puke and fast food, she had to wonder why anyone would ever choose to come here. But the excited looks on the kids faces that ran around her where more than enough to give away the reason why. Apparently, this was appealing... and to be fair. When she had been younger... perhaps this would have made her happy as well. At least it had to be more entertaining than a broken arm, or fractured bruises anyway. Clearing her throat, she glanced around. "Do we just get a seat or something?"

Shrugging her shoulders, Thaila nodded. "I guess so." She said, heading towards a table and sitting down, her eyes darting around the room before heading over to grab a highchair for Astrid. All her boobs said that mothers never expect to need to take as much stuff out with them as they did.... Thaila found it hard to believe it could be much worse than the amout she had to carry around for Astrid. Boy was she in for a surprise. Just getting her out of the push chair was a nightmare. Thai had to tackle the ring pop out of her mouth, avoiding sticky fingers to her long blonde curls as she baby wiped her clean before scooping her out and into the high chair, placing toys onto the food tray to hopefully entertain her and tackled the push chair shut. She was probably a born mother, she was just the only one that didn't see it. She was so busy with Astrid that she barely noticed Xavier telling Rumour that he was going to 'chill' for a bit but he'd be back in a bit, before trying to fleece her for money. With a roll of her eyes, Thaila grabbed her purse and held a bill out towards him. "YOU... should not be asking your DATE for money!!"

Rumour had to admit, the eight year old was pretty fly (for a white guy) for his age, and was pretty close to handing over the money just to let him think he was rather accomplished. Still, watching Thaila out of the corner of her eyes, Rumour felt the familiar, but unbidden and most deffinately unwanted pang of jealousy deep in her chest that she hated herself for. She had no reason to be jealous of her friend when she herself was so completely happy, yet watching the pregnant woman not only tackle a pushchair and a toddler but do so well? It reminded the once blind girl of everything she could never have. Swallowing down the lump in her throat, Rumour pushed the green eyed monster far from her, and grinned, tugging Thaila to sit next to her once Xavier had scampered off with his money to 'chill'. "So, tell me! First, how are you? second, what clothes have you bought for the baby, and thirdly, how are you coping without Oregon?"

It was with great ease that Thaila's body flopped into a chair. She smiled gently, half watching Astrid as she listened to the questions. She took a big deep breath, half playing with rumour in the way she did so. "Well..... First, I'm fine. Second, I've bought FAR too much. You'll have to come see. Theres some just plain stuff and then there's loads of cute little onesies... there were some with giraffes on that just could NOT go back on the shelf.... I also bought a pair of baby sneakers. Wait till you see the size. They're to die for." She grinned widely, as she spoke but her grin quickly faded. For a moment she looked down, biting her lip together and swallowing thickly. "And I'm coping.... Okay... Coping well....." Her smile forced dimples into her cheek until she quickly wrinkled her nose. "He's not even been gone a week yet. I can't miss him that much, right??" Oh she did a lot of things well, but anyone that loved and knew Thaila could see right through that story.

Grinning as Rumour imagined all the baby clothes currently being described to her, the brunette couldn't help but take a small fracture of a moment to wonder what had happened to the cold, sarcastic and cynical woman that had inhabited this space only a few short months ago. The change was profound... but it was a change that the girl did not regret as she found herself enjoying and joining in with herf frineds excitement at the life growing within her, but aslo at the thought of sneakers small enough to fit inside the palm of your hand. Rumour almost squeed. The answer to her third question however caused the vixen to frown, leaning forward to take her hand. "Yeah right. I miss Ever when he leaves for work, and he's only gone for a few hours." Glancing, the brunette played with the piercing between her lips for a moment, and then grinned. "You want me to stay over tongiht? we can do girl stuff... and arange all the baby clothes into style and order"

Looking up, Thaila smiled geniunely at her friend, gripping her fingers between her own. "You don't have to. I'm sure you'll want to be with Ever... Especially after what you just said." She stuck her tongue out gently and looked down again. "I just feel so silly... I mean theres people that don't get to see their boyfriends or husbands or whatever for months on end and I'm here all sad about a matter of days....."

Rumour found herself smiling again. "The great thing i'm learning? Ever is always going to be there. Despite.... what i thought before. he's always there. But so are you, Thaila, and if i don't stick up for and be ther for my firneds when they need me, then i don't deserve to have them. So, we have three options. either i'm staying with you, your staying with me, or i'm coming over untill the early hours, and then depositing you with Eryk when you're too tired to stand."

Thai found herself grinning again, shaking her head. "I guess we COULD finish my room and organizing baby clothes would be a good idea before Eryk realizes how much I bought." She giggled, reaching down to pick one of Astrid's toys off the floor and make Meeko walk across the cold white plastic of the high chair, her eyes going back. "What would I do without you Ru-mah-mah?"

"Oh i don't know. have a half decorated room and a pile of baby clothes that needed organising? Let;s not forget an eight year old without a girlfriend, and a baby with no godmomma. " Rumour grinned, tickling the girls side lightly with her fingertips; "But i think the important question, is where i would be without you?"

Squeaking with the tickle, Thai moved quickly to try and get away from those fingers, dropping Meeko and trying to catch her hand. "Hmmm. I'm going to vote at home crying into your pillow because you dont have the very most amazing friend ever?" She poked her tongue out, and clearly didnt mean it. She didn't honestly imagine it'd matter to Rumour if she didn't exist.... But maybe that was just her.

The truth of the matter was, and it was something they had discussed before, Rumour truly believed that if it were not for her friends, she believed she would be dead. They had been the pople who had given her the inspiration to run after the night of beating, instead of curling in her room and waiting for the pain to go away. They were also the reason Rumour believed she lived. The fox may have saved her, but the fox had needed a reason to fight the twilight of purgatory, and she believed her friends were that reason - the possibility of a life she had never before had. She stuck her tongue out back, and grinned. "Exactly" and unlike Thaila, who had spoken the words in jest, Rumour believed them.

Thaila was about to say something more when an 8 year old came over, clutching tokens and demanding that he sit next to his date...... Who was she to argue?? With a giggle she moved up and let Xavier sit between them, watching as the kid took out the menu and started asking Rumour what she wanted... telling her she could have watch she wanted because 'a gentleman always paid'. However the comment was quickly followed by an elbow being thrown into thailas ribs. Guess that meant that Thai was the gentleman in this situation.

Rumour couldn't help but smile at that, shifting on the chair a little as if to move over for him, but then leaning a little towards the eight year old to read the menu over his shoulder. She hadn't realised of course that coming to chuck e cheese would mean eating, but then, that much should have been obvious. Frowning a little at the menu, her eyes darted over what they served, and she grinned. "Hey... why don't we get... a huge pizza, with everything on it.. and share? and maybe some churro's or something/ what do you think?”

Apparently, Xavier liked that idea..... After he almost jumped out of his seat with excitment and insantly started going through every topping... because the word everything wasn't enough for an 8 year old boy... and every now and then she was coming across things that made he himself screw up his face and make gagging noises.... so apparently it was better safe than sorry. Still shaking her head, Thaila sat there laying Astrids barbies on the table, reclothing them one by one, putting them in cute outfits and occasionally twirling barbie by the hair (because holding something that looks human by the hair and spinning it around didnt seem cruel) just to make sure the dress twriled properly, before handing them up to the two year old who didnt mind so much about cruelty as she held barbie by the legs and smashed her face into the tray of her highchair.

Grinning, Rumour felt quite proud of herself for her idea, and leant back a little in her chair to peer around Xavier and waggle her fingers at Astrid, and then to tug gently on the hem of Thaila's shirt, grinning at the blonde, before sticking her tongue out at her with a wink and turning back to the menu. "Okay Xavier. We're gonna order the food.... why don;t you go see what you can get with your tickets?"

Thaila was so busy dressing Barbie that she was completely taken by surprise when there was a tug at the back of her shirt. She gasped and looked towards Rumour, scrunching up her nose and poking her tongue back at her best friend. Best friend.... it was a strange concept to her but something she was glad to be getting her head around. Watching Xavier skip off, Thaila grabbed the menu and gave it the quick once over, hiccuping gently as she did so. "Whats it like dating an 8 yr old?"

"Very Different to dating a twenty six year old. Or anyone over the age of ten for that matter" Rumour giggled, once again scooting over in her chair to close the gap between the two girls. When she thought about it, it surprised Rumour how easily she had become friends with Thaila, how quickly the girl could share things with the teenaged blonde. The truth was that the two were very different.. but perhaps that was why they got on so well. Thier differences, and the secrets they shared. Yes.... the blonde was easily Rumours best friend.... her and the trout lipped student she was dating. "If only all men were so easy to please with chuck ee cheese, pizza, and a pocketfull of quarters."

Thaila was forced to giggle at Rumour. Her hand slipped into Rumours as she looked over the menu, leaving Astrid to the massacre of numerous Barbie dolls. Rumours second comment caused Thaila's lips to turn up thoughtfully and the 16 year old to turn to her friend before stating very matter of fact. 'No. Actually. I think that'd be a perfect afternoon for Oregon...."

Rumour couldn't help herself - she burst out laughing. Not because what Thaila had said was funny persay... but because of the way she had said it, an the undeniability of her words. "You know.i think you're right. Maybe we should have broguht Ore.... a double date!"

Thaila couldn't help but laugh with her. She wasn't laughing at herself so much as the way Rumour herself was laughing. "He's away, remember?" And in saying those words, it reminded Thaila just how much she hated being away from him. She swore she'd never been like this with anyone. She always good on her own. She was used to her own company. But now? Life wasn't complete without him. She missed everything from his voice, to that guppy mouth to the fact he had this very same smile on his face every time he told her he loved her. "Besides... Would that not potentially be slightly awkward?"

"Awkward?" Rumour asked, the laughter dieing down to giggles as she caught her breath. "oooh.. you mean.. you making out with your date could potentially gross out my date..." She grinned, catching the spider shaped head of her piercing between her teeth. Perhaps one of rumours worst habits, at least as far as her dentist was concerned, was her seemingly never ending clacking of her tongue bars across her enamel. Perhaps come up close behind is her smoking, which truth be told, had only got worse since she had become friends with, and started dating, one Ever Goodman. Ah well. Giving the other girls hand a squeeze, Rumour motioned to the menu. "Come on mIss Preggers, what we eating?"

Eyes going wide, Thaila smiled at Rumour as she said about making out grossing out her date. "Amongst other things... Yeah." There was a sigh from Thai as she squeezed her hand. "I don't know... The simple smell of cheese in this place has me feeling a need to run for the bathroom.... I might just grab some fries.... Oooh and cinnamon sticks.... think they accept that as a valid meal choice?"

Rumour glanced around, looking for the teen who had been checking out Thaila since they had walked in, and spotted him near the ball pit, supposedly cleaning but glanccing over at the pair from time time.... and turning beet red when rumour waved at him "Him over there... i;m pretty sure he could make it a valid meal choice. He's been checking you out since we walked in... and i'm pretty sure if you wanted caviar hed find a way to get it for you"

Oh god. Rumour probably shouldn't have mentioned that... As Thaila turned to look at the poor red guy, her own face turned the same colour. "Are you kidding?" and with that there was a quick turn away. The 'don't look at him' kind. Thaila had pretty much NEVER got male atttention. The two guys she'd ever had attention from, she'd ended up dating. Well okay... She'd never had attention that she KNEW about. "Are you sure he wasn't looking at you?"

"Nope. no kidding. an he is most definitely looking at you. yep. Definitely you... he's turned a much deeper shade of red." Rumour giggled, finding her friends sudden change in colour cute. She found it hard to believe that Thaila woudln't be used to such things, it was no little know fact that the blonde was truly beautifull. "Aww... i think we embarassed him..."

"Rumour stop staring at the poor guy!!" She couldnt understand quite why the guy would be looking at her. Especially with Rumour right next to her. Thaila still couldn't understand why her own boyfriend looked at her, so she wasn't going to understand this random guy doing so. Thaila tried to get the colour off her face and concentrate on the menu but the next thing she knew, said guy was at the side of their table asking if they were ready to order or if he could get them any drinks.... only to be promtly be hit by a barbie. "NO!! ASTRID!! DON'T DO THAT!!!!!" Thaila quickly moved to take the dolls off her. "I'm so sorry!! She's...... She likes throwing things..." And apparently, Thaila shouldn't of taken Meeko off the tray, because LA-LA was instantly screeched through the restraunt. The raccoon was placed back in front of her and Thaila smiled at the guy, mouthing another apology. "Yeah I think we're ready to order...."
