Fuck my life....Born of a family of hunters, it was like a natural progression for Peyton to become one. That said, unlike most hunters, Peyton and her siblings were always given the option to become one or not. Peyton had decided not until the day of her graduation. She'd always wanted to do something different to the life style she grew up around, she didn't want to be like her parents and she didn't want the people she loved to spend their lives worrying if every knock on the door or every ring of the phone could be someone informing them she'd died. It was her graduation day that she realized, beside her parents and her brothers, she didn't have any one to worry about her. She gave up everything she had that was still good in her life. Four years of hunting. Four years of living out of a rucksack, spending her days on the road and living on fast food and only staying awake because of the sheer amounts of caffeine in her system. But it soon wears thin when you spend your spare time washing blood out of your clothing, drinking as much as possible to block the things you've seen the day previous and you're constantly looking over your shoulder in case you accidentally pissed off the wrong thing. She also hated being sat there alone in her room not knowing who to call or who to talk to because she didn't technically have any friends. Four months didn't seem like a long time in the long run, yet Peyton's life had turned upside own. Walking into a bar as a huntress didn't always seem like the right thing to do. That said, today she was doing it. Not because she wanted to, but more by instruction of her father. The message she'd received was vague, but the fact it was an SOS was what was most important to her. She hadn't been home in too long and as a result she didn't know what was going on, she didn't know what he dad had been hunting or how long for. She hasn't even spoken to him in weeks which was how she knew he really needed her. Peyton did the best she could not to show her distaste for being called out in the dead of night to some dive bar. Her distaste didn't stop her doing it so it was only right she didn't inflict her pissed off face on everyone else. As she wandered into the bar she pulled out her phone and messaged her dad that she was there before approaching the bar. The closer she got to the bar, the more her discomfort came from trying to sit down in her shorts that weren't quite doing up and held together with a piece of hair elastic and only hidden by the over sized shirt she was wearing and the fact the guy sat beside her was drinking Guinness. A small pout covered her features for a quick moment before she sighed, sitting despite the fact it was completely uncomfortable and ordered herself a Coke. wearing :]

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] I DON’T THINK I DESERVE IT, SELFLESSNESS The Words: 1,106 The Outfit: Here Tagged: Peyton Deanus Music: Far From Home Notes: None. Peyton was one of the lucky ones, she had a choice. She could have chosen not to follow in her family’s footsteps on the beach and created her own. She could have made the choice not to be a hunter, but she didn’t. That was her own fault, the life that she was living now was something that she chose for herself, it was her own undoing, that’s what Axel would have thought.
He didn’t get that wonderful choice. He didn’t even get the choice to stay in school if he wanted too. Axel Sastre Maverick got the shit end of the stick of everything in life. It was his mother’s “friend” that made the ‘to hunt or not to hunt’ choice for him when he was just four years old. It was his mother’s decision to leave her home in Salem, Massachusetts in hopes of keeping her son in her grasp and out of the government’s care. Everything that lead Axel down the path that he was living now had nothing to do with his decisions. It was always someone else, nothing was his doing. He had to deal with what he was handed in life. He didn’t have the luxury of making his own decisions, or staying in school, or even getting a family. Everyone that he had ever thought of as family was gone. His mother was brutally murdered by a demon who is now possessing his only uncle on his mother’s side. His father was a deadbeat and planning to marry a woman that’s more than half of his age, she could actually be his daughter.
What kind of family was that? It wasn’t one. Axel refused to allow himself to call that sperm donor his father. Right now, Axel was far away from the state of Massachusetts that he could be at the moment. It had only been a few days since he had finally met the man that met, fucked, and dumped his mother, leaving Axel behind as well. Florian claimed that he loved Kaylynn – his mother – but that was just a bunch of bull shit. If you loved someone, you don’t just leave without a word and leave them to think about what they had done wrong for you to leave like that? Kaylynn never said it, but Axel knew that she must have blamed herself somewhere down the road for Florian’s disappearance – well at the time he was known as Sastre. Anyway, the fact of the matter is, is that Axel was not convinced that Florian was in love with his mother in any way.
Much to Axel’s dismay, he kind of needed the deadbeat guy. Why? Because his mother had been cursed to live the life of a death echo in the hotel room where she was murdered, and he needed Florian to help move Kaylynn along to wherever she was destined to go in the afterlife. Without him, his mother was going to continue on suffering, and Axel couldn’t handle that anymore. It was one of the reasons why he continued his mother’s search for the man. If it was up to him, and if his mother never turned into a death echo, he would have stopped the moment that he had found out. He didn’t need to find his father, Axel hated the guy. Though he knew that his mother had been searching for him to inform Florian of Axel’s existence… and for some unfinished business, whatever that was, it had carried over into the next life, and now she didn’t want to go anywhere till she had finished it. But that meant suffering for her till she got the chance to confront Florian.
Which was why Axel was kind of away from the state at the moment, but close enough that when it was time for him to go and pick him up, he’d be there on time. Axel had decided that he was going to take Florian to the place where his mother had died and let her confront him, so that she could pass on. He didn’t want to do that. But he knew that it was going to bother this sperm donor, and if it meant causing Florian harm while giving his mother peace, he was all for it.
His hand was lightly going through the fur on Winry-Ann’s head, his trusty and faithful companion of five years, a German Sheppard. Winry was sitting at his side at the bar with her head in his lap, her ears down and eyes closed. She could sense that Axel’s left leg had been bothering him, one of the reasons why Axel has avoided getting into any hunts or fights, which is why she had refused to leave his side since then. Axel had originally got Winry-Ann to help him with his crippled side, but after getting her – more like stealing her from a pet shop – she had turned into his best friend really. Winry was always a good dog, and always happy believe it or not, and she loved people. But she obedient, one of those dogs that could be left off leash and they wouldn’t go running into traffic or dare to wander too far away from their master’s side. That’s the kind of dog that Winry is, and he was grateful for it.
Axel’s eyes had turned towards the door at the sight of a young woman wandering inside. Winry’s ears had gone up and her head turned towards the direction of the other human being in the bar. Surprisingly there weren’t a lot of drunks in the place, just Axel, Winry, the bartender and a few more select people that had been spread out across the place. It was the dead hour for this bar, hence why Axel was here.
Winry’s nose began sniffing at the presence of the woman, but after a moment or two, she placed her head back into Axel’s lap, her ears going down and her eyes closing again. From that action alone, Axel had determined that the woman was in fact human. If she wasn’t Winry would have growled, twitched, or shifts positions to lock her eyes onto the woman. Because of the lack of movement from his dog, Axel continued to down his Guinness and then he had ordered a shot, pushing the cup away.
He couldn’t help but want to move away when her presence placed itself next to him. Axel wasn’t a people person, he would much rather be that one person sitting in the corner by himself with his dog watching everyone than with people around him. It suddenly got crowded.

Fuck my life....Peyton had no desire to talk to or disturb anyone, let alone the guy she set herself beside. The only reason she'd chosen that place to sit was because it was furthest away from the small crowd of people that had accumulated at the other end of the bar and as far from the beer pumps as she could get to save her stomach from turning. She'd love nothing more than to feel her fathers hand against her shoulder. She just wanted to get out of here, she really did. Why was she even here? She didn't get it. But there as one thing the guy sat beside Peyton and she herself had in common, they were both apparently willing to do whatever it took to help their parents. The only thing was, that the pair would probably never even work out the common ground they shared. It wasn't long until a long glass of coke was placed in front of the fiery red head, her fingertips grasping a black straw and swirling it gently around the dark caramel liquid. For a moment she was lost, hypnotized by the gentle click of her ice cubes against glass. It was only when she noticed the dog, resting his head on her neighbor's lap. The stunning little german shepard appeared completely at ease at his masters side, eyes closed and just resting there. Her distress flew out the window and for a moment, she was merely amused. A grin gently slid across her face, hand still playing with her straw as she focused on the dog..... that was until there was an almighty smash. Jumping back as quickly as she could, wasn't enough for Peyton to avoid the flow of liquid that slid rapidly across and over the bar, brown drips down her legs, promising to make her sticky later on. "Fuck!" She grabbed some napkins from nearby and did her best to start mopping it up. Seriously? SERIOUSLY? Has she lost all sense of co-ordination?? She couldn't even have a drink without spilling it. Maybe Kai wasn't exaggerating when he told her the bruises she kept noticing were from her walking into every surface possible. She was so busy clearing it up she almost forgot about the person beside her. For heavens sake. People came here for a quiet drink and here she was, causing a scene!! "I'm so sorry!! Like.... Ridiculously sorry... I...." She was flapping! She was rambling and it was not a good quality in a young lady. Seriously? Where was her dad?! If ever she needed him to come in and save her, this was the time?! Instead she'd just have to stand there looking like a ginormous idiot!!! wearing :]

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] I DON’T THINK I DESERVE IT, SELFLESSNESS The Words: 991 The Outfit: Here Tagged: Ellia St. Claire Music: Night of the Hunter Notes: Happy Turkey Day! And sorry that this is late. Everything was peaceful, even though Axel was a little bothered by the fact that the woman was sitting so close to him, but he had eventually gotten over it and just sat there scarfing down shots. With his strong senses, Axel had turned his attention towards the woman just as he had noticed that her cup was beginning to fall over, he had removed his arms from the bar’s counter top and commanded Winry to move from her place at his left side to move her to his right.
Her ears were standing at attention as Peyton jumped out of her seat knocking over her chair, that didn’t actually hit the ground because Axel out stretched his arm and had caught the wood stolen. The expression on his face was hard and cold as he watched her from the corner of his eyes to clean away the mess that she had made. He couldn’t help but roll is eyes at her and as soon as he reached for the shot glass sitting on the bar’s surface, there was a voice in the back of his head that spoke up, stopping him dead in his tracks.
Help her. |
Axel groaned inwardly and turned his attention back towards Peyton, he scooted his bar stool out, moving Winry’s head and then standing up keeping all of his weight on his right leg. He reached over the bar’s counter top and picked up a few napkins, placing them onto the trails of soda that had been working its way towards him. Lightly he pressed his fingers to the paper and shook his head at her. “Hn…” He started. “Don’t worry about it.” The second half of his sentence was softer. Axel didn’t like talking to people, and there was a reason for that. All of his life, he kept himself away from the social setting of human life. Why? When he was a kid, all Axel did was travel from town to town. Of course his mother wanted him to have as normal of a life as she could give to her son, but because they would stay at a place for weeks, and then up and leave, Axel had to keep leaving friends behind. He was getting tired of getting close to people and then having to suddenly leave them. It was one of the reasons why when he had turned sixteen years old, and with the permission granted to him by his mother, Axel dropped out of high school and dedicated his life to hunting with the only person that he’s ever had. Deep down though, there was a part of Axel that wanted to give up the life of hunting and try to live normally, except hunting was all that he knew. He had no idea what it was like to be normal, to pretend that the things that he knew existed didn’t actually exist. Axel certainly didn’t know how to be a friend or even a boyfriend to anyone. One of the reasons why he had often thought about ditching the phone that he has now so that Ellia couldn’t call him anymore, he didn’t need to be ruining her life. Axel didn’t want to turn out to be like his father, who just seemed to use and abuse women like there was no problem to it. Axel’s mother had been the victim of a man such as that, and Axel had turned out to be the result. He didn’t want to do that to Ellia, and because he didn’t want to do that her… he couldn’t find the nerve to lose his phone. Winry had moved away from Axel’s lap as he pulled himself to his feet so that he could run a napkin over the edge of the bar counter top to get the liquid to stop running down. Then he handed Peyton several paper towels so that she could clean herself up, assuming that she wanted too. After he had felt that he had helped her enough, Axel sat back down in his seat and then ran his hand through Winry’s fur, giving her permission to go over to Peyton to make her feel better if the dog wanted too… of course Winry-Ann wanted too! She absolutely adored people. The five year old German Sheppard stood to her feet and then made her way over to the young red head who seemed to be freaking out and definitely feeling about what had just happened. She sniffed at Peyton’s hand before nudging her fingers lightly with her cold and wet nose. Soon Winry’s tail began to move back and forth, her ears going down and looking up at the young woman, just begging to attention. [/div]

Fuck my life....It was bad enough she'd nearly covered this guy in cola, but now he was actually helping her. Maybe it shouldn't make her feel bad, an action that he chose to take, she never forced him or even asked him, but regardless, she felt bad. He'd wiped the edge of the bar and then handed her a bunch of towels, her fingers gripping them gently and her lips turning up into a warm smile at him. "Thank you." It seemed like the rambling mess she'd been previously, had calmed slightly. She used the towel to wipe herself down the best she could, some of the coke already dried sticky to her legs but that she would just have to deal with it. She was probably more conscious of the fact her shirt had become damp and was sticking slightly to her front and forcing her to tug it gently away. If there was anything she hadn't expected, it was to have an adorable German Sheppard come up to her and start nudging her hand. The second her green eyes settled on the five year old dog, who in Peyton's eyes still looked like a pup, she beamed. Crouching, Peyton ran her fingers through the dogs fur, her hand stroking over its head. "Well hey there. Aren't you just gorgeous? You are!!" Trust it to be a cute dog that pulled Peyton's mind away from all the things that haunted it. "Einstein would love you. Though he might be a little mad when I go home smelling like another dog!" With that, Peyton's eyes turned up towards the guy that had helped her before, she'd seen him with the dog before so she assumed it was his. "What's her name?" wearing :]

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] I DON’T THINK I DESERVE IT, SELFLESSNESS He wanted to leave now. This place was getting a little too crowded for him, but he knew that the moment that he tried to stand he was most likely going to end up hugging the floor. He didn’t want that right now, if it was just the bartender it would’ve been a different story but this girl was too close for comfort and then there were people over in the corner.
However he wasn’t going to be able to leave now that Winry-Ann had snagged the attention of the woman sitting next to him, who had indeed almost spilt a cup of soda on him. Axel couldn’t help but make a face as he turned in the opposite direction facing away from the young woman. Why did his dog have to be so people friendly? It was a good thing because he got the chance to take her out and bring her into stores and not have to worry about her biting people. It was also a downside for the hunter simply because he didn’t like people, and everyone was always flocked to a cute and friendly looking dog… especially women and children.
Winry’s tail wagged happily as she pulled herself closer to Peyton and leaned her head into her hands. She of course could smell that the woman had contact with another dog, but Winry wasn’t too concerned because right now she had the woman’s attention and she was loving it. Axel turned towards her and looked down at Winry, tempted to call his dog back to his side so that the two of them could get out of there, but it’s been a long time since she had the attention of someone other than himself.
And because of his crippled condition at the moment, there was only so much that he could do.
“She’s five.” |
he replied, downing his shot one more time and then placing the glass onto the table and waving the bartender away when she came to refill his glass. He had a feeling that this was going to be a long conversation… [/div]

Fuck my life....Peyton's face turned obviously confused as the guy answered. She got the feeling he didnt really want to talk to her and she suddenly just felt bad for imposing on his day. Looking down at the dog, Peyton scrunched her nose, scruffing her head one last time and then heads back to her seat, smiling at the dog, who seemed much more like a puppy than a five year old dog. "I'm sorry, I'll leave you to your evening." And with that and a sigh, Peyton pulled out her phone, angrily texting her dad. She had no real reason to be here, she couldn't enjoy it if she wanted to, because that would require a mass amount of Jim Beam (though in her pregnant state she'd be pretty damn happy with Guinness). In her frustration, she just resorted to muttering to herself. "I swear, whatevers after you, I hope it eats you..." wearing :]

He just shot Peyton a look when she had apologized to him. Actually he felt like he should have been the one to say sorry, he was being rude to her. For the first time in all of his life, Axel was actually being rude to a woman and he didn’t hear his mother’s voice come into his head to yell at him or to say otherwise.
Axel wasn’t sure that he liked that.
He paid her no mind as he ordered himself a beer and left Winry to rest her head into Peyton’s lap to ask for more attention. Axel didn’t mind if she wanted some attention from someone else other than him. He was alright with that, after all, he could give her love and attention whenever he wanted. It was time that she had received it from someone else.
It was the low mutter of words that Axel had picked up on that made him almost choke on his beer and reach for the gun at his side, it even caused Winry to perk her ears up and look up at Peyton with warning.
“Excuse me?” |
He had asked, looking towards her and giving her a glare. All he knew that came out of her mouth was that he had hoped that a monster was going to eat him, and that already was beginning to raise questions. How the hell did she know that he was a hunter? What the hell made her think that she was going to get off by saying that to him? None, actually. In fact, he was pretty sure that she had just signed her death wish. Fuck my life...."What?"Peyton turned to look at the guy quickly, her eyes going down to his dog for a moment and her eyes growing wide as she checked the glare she was receiving and realizing quite what she'd just said out loud and how it could be taken. She took a quick, hard breath and shook her head. "No... Sorry... I wasn't......" SHIT. She was panicked. Panicked was never good. When Peyton panicked it generally lead to sweaty palms and babbling noised and this random wiggly thing she did with her butt cheeks to try and calm her..... None of which were good. "I... Uh... I....." The aforementioned sweaty palms, which weren't that bad really, she'd only been panicking for about 37 seconds, moved to press nervously against her bump. It was clear she'd some how pissed this guy off and it worried her more so because now... She wasn't 100% sure he was even a guy..... Would a normal person have taken this statement and got ANGRY at her? Surely such a thing would strike confusion into anyone that was naive of the meaning behind it? Which to Peyton meant one of two things.... He knew of the supernatural... or he was it... and she was fucked. "I think you... Misunderstood what I was saying..."wearing :]

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] AND BE A SIMPLE KIND OF MAN, OH WOULD YOU DO THIS FOR ME, SON?
His harden glare didn’t budge or look as if it was going to disappear as soon as he had seen her getting nervous. In the back of his mind, his mother’s voice was raging at him at how quickly he had gotten angry, that he should show her some more respect than what was going on right now, but to Axel, this woman had just threatened his life. She was lucky he didn’t tell Winry to eat her.
Putting his shot glass down with a heavy and angry “thump” he turned to face her in his stool as Winry lifted her head from Peyton’s lap, looking up at her ready for the next command. His eyes hardened on the nervous Peyton and this time his voice full of venom.
“Oh? I have?” |
he quirked his eyebrow up at her, the glare never leaving. He moved his hands to place them onto his knees, ready to grab a hold of his gun and shoot her point blank range if he had too. It was something that Axel didn’t want to do, but it wouldn’t be the first time that he had killed a human being. “If I missed understood, then why don’t you enlighten me on what you meant. It didn’t really matter what she meant by it. What mattered was that it was said and now he was curious as to how she knew that he was a hunter. Of course though, Axel was going to keep that bit to himself, just in case that she was just saying it to say it because Axel’s a dickhead. He was aware of this and the entire world was aware of that. Point is, if she proved to know that he was a hunter, he was killing her, if she proved to know about the life of the supernatural, he might just not kill her… yet.
