Kayla was the first born the Rhys- Damara clan. She was always their special little girl. Even at a young age, she showed signs of being special and having some sort of powers. She had projected things into her mother and her aunties’ head letting them know that they are sisters. She just has this way of knowing certain things as if she is picking up some sort of connection, but she gained an aunty who spoils her rotten so she couldn’t complain at all. Her childhood though was never normal seeing as the demons and things that went bump in the night always seemed to be after them. It was a never-ending battle on that front, but for the most part she was a happy little girl and she loves her parents to death. She of course is such a daddy’s girl.

Kayla surely was one to keep her parents on their toes. She would always bring them home some weird things such as lizards and deadly snakes. She loved them, and they were like friends to her. She is a tough as nails girl and isn’t scared of anything even when she was a little toddler. Once her siblings were born, she would torture them. She made it known she was the eldest and was in change and would bully them around. Could they expect anything different from her? She loves her siblings, but she loves being able to bully them it is her job. If anyone messed with them they, best believe she would have her evil way with them. Only if she found out about it though. She didn’t just bully her siblings, but she bullied her cousins about a little too.

The family was real close and she couldn’t ask for a better family. Their family rocked. Holidays and birthdays were always a big thing. She had her closes friends at school when she started school. It was fun while she was little how she didn’t know school would start to suck later on in life. She would always make her daddy chaperone their field trips in school giving him the pout until he would say yes. She had her daddy around her finger. It was an added bonus when both her parents could chaperone, but it wasn’t often with her having so many other siblings. Sometimes they needed them too and she had to share.

Kayla when she hit the teen years well that surely spelt trouble. She became a bit more mouthy, and bitchy, and would throw fits when she didn’t get her way. She tended to not do what her momma would tell her to do, but when daddy put his foot down; she knew she was in trouble. She still loved to pick on her siblings and she hated having to baby sit them. School blew and she hated it. It wasn’t her thing. She would refuse to do her homework and would often burn her homework in the rubbish bin. She literally hated regular schooling. She did her best to try to get herself kicked out of school too. She hated it. Her momma did too maybe she got that from her momma, but well daddy wouldn’t let her drop out that was a no.

No matter how much she would complain she still got the same answer no. It was only when she reached the age of 16 that they decided to let her go to the hunter’s academy and train in the ways of being a hunter. It made sense seeing as the family always away seemed to have some sort of drama going on, this gave her some incentive to stay in school, and when she was training, she got to kick some ass and not get into trouble for it. It opened a completely new door for her. She actually was starting to like this and didn’t have to crack the books all day long like in school. She got to use some of the skills she was good at.

Kayla always had been the rebellious one out of the lot of Rhys-Damara children. They were a close brood and eventually the others got to go to the Academy as well. It wasn’t that their parents were trying to ship them off they just wanted them to be safe, and training was the best bet with the demons and nasty critters popping up out of the woodwork everywhere. They lived close enough so they got to go home often and sometimes their cousin’s would come too so they would have big family dinners it was a blast really.

Kayla had her share of ordeals at the academy. Who didn’t? None of them were perfect and at the Academy, you got to mingle with other hunters children so in a way you were almost like one big family. She already has a large family, but with those, she knows at the Academy it seems like she has an even bigger one. She doesn’t get on with some of the people she went to school with. Why, because Kayla was a bitch to them, and she was one that liked to be the queen bitch. Step to her and she would kick your ass. Kayla has her share of secrets, but she doesn’t have any from her family members. They are all close. She may get into it with them a lot of the time and bully them, but in her own twisted ways, it just shows them that she loves them. It is her own twisted sense of love.

During her time at the Academy, she had blackmailed some teacher and well it backfired in her face. He had sexually abused her, and that just broke her and made her become even bitterer. He thought she was asking for it. It was the reason she started to hate men and didn’t think she could trust him. She should have been able to fight back. She was raised to fight back, but she froze and she was raised not to hit her elders so her brain just seemed to shut off and she couldn’t think, but she learned her lesson with blackmailing and she wasn’t going to fail a second time…

After Kayla had been abused, she had fled home and cried to her parents in which you damn well know Damon would do something about it. Kayla wasn’t used to being the one that needed that kind of help. She had always been the one that stood up for her siblings, now she was the one that needed the help, and it was odd for her. She let her parents handle it, and she started seeing a shrink, but it wasn’t easy opening up to a shrink. She couldn’t tell them everything. She couldn’t tell them about the things out there to get them. She wasn’t suicidal so she seen no reason to continue with the sessions so stopped going to them.

She continued her training as a hunter until she was about twenty years old, that was when she found out her parents were having another child and well that just freaked her out and grossed her out a bit and Kayla being Kayla was bluntly honest about that. It was sick to think of her parents still getting it on. It wasn’t something she wanted to think or really. She was all graduated from school and all the kids in the family seemed to have some musical talent so she had grew up around talented siblings. Some of her brothers were in bands and Tameryn is an amazing singer if she ever is discovered she would be a remarkable songstress. Kayla herself was okay at it, but she thinks her siblings out shine her in that aspect.

Kayla really didn’t have any plans for her life not like the others really. Chelsea seemed to have her whole life mapped out. Kayla took to traveling around the world and hunting for a while until she ended up in New York. Oh my god did she fall in love with New York! She loved the shopping, the shoes, and the expensive places. It was like any girls dream true.

By this time, she was 21, and she ended up working at a bar. She learned a bunch of stuff from her mother-owning one so she knew how to bartend a little and well she was a bit of a performer so she would get on the bar or a little stage and did her thing until she was discovered by a modeling agency and she took them up on their offer. So she quiet the bar and has now been modeling/ doing little performances all over the world. She has been doing so for about 9 years now. She will hunt on occasion if she can sneak off and catches wind of a case. She is so out to get those who mess with her family. Messing with her family is the wrong answer and she will kill anyone who messes with them.
