PERSONALITY » There are many different things you could use to describe Maggie Harris. Those that knew her before her mother died would definitely see the changes she’s gone through since she lost her. Before she was the always obeying, non-rule breaker who wouldn’t take one foot out of line. Now though she is a changed girl, she stays out late, fights with everyone, and has quite an attitude. She has just done a complete 180 in her own personality. Most people would find that incredibly weird, but if they knew Maggie, I mean really knew her you would see that it’s more of a cry for help.
This girl has all the fine qualities that you might want in a friend. Mags’s fiercely loyal to those that are lucky enough to gain her trust. You have to prove yourself to her for her to really be your friend and when you do she’ll have your back even until death. If there is one thing she’s learned it’s that you should never give up on those that you care about and to protect them at all costs. She has the habit of being honest with people, almost bluntly so and she doesn’t really care about hurting your feelings. To her people shouldn’t be so sensitive. Most of the time she’s caring, wanting to help the people around her. This is what she has always been like growing up. But she also has quite a rebellious streak; breaking rules and fighting people that piss her off.
There are times that she gets in a depression; a funk that hardly anyone can pull her out of. With it she becomes cold, bitter, reserved and closed off from the world. She doesn’t like to feel tied down to people and likes to take her frustrations out on a punching bag. Training is the one constant she’s always had in her life, so she wants to be the best. Maggie will lock herself up in a closet where she tries to deal with her issues. No one is ever allowed to see her cry and she pretty much closes everyone off from her emotions. After being the cause of her mother’s death she’s incredibly reserved and guarded about the people around her. When she commits to something she is going to see it through, never one to break her word. That was something she learned from her parents, something she honors for them. She’s a fierce fighter and has a temper to match. What’s not to love about her? Try her out if you dare.
HISTORY » What’s there to say? Margaret “Maggie” Adele Harris was born into the loving home of William and Nadine Harris, their first and only child. A beautiful baby girl with big blue-gray eyes that would make even the most bitter person’s heart melt with one look at her. This little family was very much complete. William was an ex-army sergeant and dabbled in hunting just like his father did as a profession before him. Nadine didn’t like it, but she dealt with it because it made her husband happy. She had her daughter and that was all that mattered. Maggie was spoiled rotten by her parents, doted on and raised to be the best person she could be. From a young age her father would teach her bits and pieces about hunting, wanting her to know what it was that he was doing. Her age didn’t matter to him, she was smart for her age and all he saw was protecting her. Nadine of course didn’t always agree with it but she would put up with it, just glad they were spending time together.
Maggie grew up with all the normal childhood experiences and before long she was in junior high school. She was a teenager who would follow the rules and do everything right. Her parents couldn’t be more proud of her as she gets all the good grades and does what they tell her to do. William would go off on his own version of hunts while Nadine and Maggie were left at home. Maggie went through her father’s books when her mother wasn’t looking and she came across a book on witchcraft, a spell book that she thought she could dabble in. Her dad was gone, what harm would that do? A lot. That night when she cast the spell she let in the house unspeakable evil, breaking the barriers that she didn’t know her father had put in place for them. A demon got in, possessing her mother. Maggie was tortured by the thing that looked like her mom, her screams unheard by everyone. For days this went on as the demon would torture her just for the thrill. All she wanted was for it to stop, for her to have her mother back. That didn’t happen though. Shortly a pair of hunter friends’ of her dad’s came and exorcised the demon out of her mother but it was too late. Nadine died right there as her traumatized daughter looked on in horror. Within hours her father returned home to find his daughter in the hospital and his wife dead.
Maggie and William never spoke of what happened but they both changed. He became more distant, working all the time. Maggie herself wasn’t the happy, bubbly character she was before. She’d hardened, got a temper, fought all the time. She had snapped, and there was no recovery. So William took her to the only safe place he knew she’d be and where she could have the best education he saw fit for her. The Harvelle Academy, safe haven for hunters’ children where they get an education and taught to hunt as well. Maggie hated that her father left her there but she had to admit she really liked the school. It was teaching her, molding and training her to be a hunter just like her father. What wouldn’t she love about it? Now she’s putting all her effort into the hunting and less on the actual schoolwork. She wants to fight against the demons, protect people like her mother and help the helpless. She’s been at the school for the last three and a half years, now preparing for her graduation and ability to head out into the world. That’s when the real test begins. But is she ready for it? Only time will tell.
