the basics,
baby.
baby.
NAME » Imogen Elektra Cast
AGE AND DOB » 19, 27th March
EMPLOYMENT AND EDUCATION » Has recently finished an entrance art course to study at university, but she is unsure as to what to do next. Sells commissioned Grotesques.
SPECIES » Gifted
POWERS AND ABILITES »
To put it very simply, Imogen can bring the things she draws and carves to life.
Her drawings are lifelike, intricate and takes her hours to finish, and she can bring them to varying degree’s of life. Some are restricted to winking, moving around in their frames, these are the ones you are most likely to see, and her warehouse studio is full of them – it’s all very harry potter like - others she can pull into reality for short periods of time, make them truly real and solid. So far she has never managed to make anything truly live for long for sustaining their life saps her own energy.
Her statues are often however the easiest to animate, and the easiest to get away with, telling people it is simply mechanics within the structures themselves.
ALIGNMENT » Neutral
SEXUALITY » Straight
looks aren’t
everything.
everything.
ETHNIC ORIGIN » Caucasian
HAIR COLOR »Dark Brown
EYE COLOR » Hazel, almost amber
BUILD » Average build, she’s not fat, but the girl isn’t model skinny either.
HEIGHT » five foot seven
DISTINGUISHING MARKS » The whole point of imogen is that there is nothing distinguishing about her, though she does have some strange tattoo’s, her hands have the scars associated with a sculptor and she is often covered in the silver sheen of pencil residue AKA tinman disease.
TATTOOS AND PIERCINGS » Her ears are pierced, and she has a surface piercing on the inside of her right forearm. She has also has the pad of her fingers tattooed with small swirls, that if she concentrates, swirl.
PERSONAL STYLE »
Imogen is a fan of the laid back bohemian style of dress – soft fabrics, tattered jeans and shorts, her clothes are often splattered with paint or pencil. Occasionally she wears dungaree’s , one or twice a year you might even catch her in a dress, but really it all depends on the occasion, and the people.
don’t skip the
details.
details.
LIKES » Fresh paint, charcoal, late nights and early mornings, midday siesta’s, drawing and painting, the butterfly house at the zoo, swimming pools (though she can’t swim) fortune telling, tarot cards, freshly washed clothes, virgin snow, tattoo’s, exotic animals, vanilla milkshakes, tropical smoothies and oreo icecream.
DISLIKES » Really hot weather, droughts, flying, starless nights, murky water, water – she can’t stand the lack of taste, coffee, tea, people who ask how you make “skin colour” lizards, people moving when she’s drawing them, baloney, beef burgers, anything deep fried, Gin, and gooseberries.
STRENGTHS » She’s good at what she does, and she can make money from it when she remembers to sell a piece. Unfortunately, this isn’t often.
Imogen is open, friendly and kind hearted – she’ll go out of her way to help someone.
Though not something she does often, Imogen is really rather good at skateboarding. Depending on which group of lads you ask at the beach, this is her greatest strength. Way better than those silly statues.
Her power is her greatest strength and strongest attribute – Imogen loves what she can do, and the personalities of her art.
She’s fast. Physically weak, the girl can however run like the bleeding wind.
WEAKNESSES »
Imogen becomes very involved with her work, and when a piece is what she deems “near to completion” she will extract herself from the world to devote herself to it. Usually this means between two and four straight days of working, without breaks, little sleep and even less food and water. She makes up for it when she’s done though, and these spaces of time are infrequent.
Imogen get’s attached to people quickly, and can sometimes be a little overbearing.
She can be easily manipulated by a sob story, and some people use this to take advantage
She gets angrily easily, and has been known to turn on the head of a pin between emotions.
Imogen has poor time keeping skills – she can’t remember the last time she was on time.
HOPE AND ASPIRATIONS » To spend her life doing what she loves
FEARS » Thats she’s not good enough
PET PEEVES » Art thieves piss her off. As do people who tell her to get a job. But she really hates people who don’t know when to keep their mouth shut.
BAD HABITS » Always covered in paint or charcoal, her worst habit is getting lost in her work and going long periods of time locked away from the world and just painting. During these periods she won’t eat, sleep or wash until whatever it is she’s doing is done.
BIGGEST SECRET » During high school, Imogen was in a relationship with her art teacher – they kept it secret for two years, but just before graduation he was arrested. He’s now on the sex offenders list, and is no longer allowed to work as a teacher. She ruined his life.
all about
you.
you.
PERSONALITY »Imogen is pretty laid back. She’s quiet most of the time, and not necessarily someone you’d notice, choosing often to sit away from crowds of people and sketch. This does not however mean that Imogen is in anyway reclusive – she likes to get out and be around people, and once she gets going she can be somewhat of a social butterfly.
A word to the wise however? Don’t get on her bad side. This girl forms attachments fast, and though she isn’t as outward with the way she feels, she will decide within the first few hours whether or not she can be bothered with you, or talk to you ever again and those people she gets attached too suddenly find themselves with a loudmouthed coat of armour. If you annoy her you’ll know about it. She is not afraid to stand up to people and get in their faces, and though she may not have an amazing way with words, she will quite gladly rip out your hair if you don’t give in.
HISTORY »
Imogen Cast is the first and only daughter born to a marvel fanatic and a doctor. Named after her grandmother, and what her father deemed to be the best female marvel superhero, Imogen’s life was never going to be one that was deemed socially normal. Her parents despised conformity and encouraged her originality so when it became apparent that their daughter was exceptionally gifted in the arts, at painting, drawing and sculpting, they did everything to nurture her gift and talent.
Imogen discovered her gift when she was eleven. After spending hours sketching the neighbour’s dog, she found herself looking at the drawing and tracing the outline with her finger, almost believing that the drawing could be real. The contact it seemed, accompanied with her small belief, her confidence in what she could do, her pride in her drawing, made the picture come to life. The Dog on the page started barking at her. Breaking contact however, soon made the animal stop.
Imogen spent much of her next year experimenting and discovering if that first instance had been nothing more than a fluke, the result of a Childs overactive imagination simply taking over due to tiredness. As it turns out however, that singe insistence was far from a fluke. She discovered that she required contact for the paintings and drawings, for her sculptures to move, but a single drop of blood worked just as well, allowing the pieces of art to live for as long as she was present, and as long as she willed it. The most fascinating part of the whole thing however was the small fact that she had no control over the art once it lived – they took on their own personalities, mannerisms and voices, becoming intimate, the girls best and most loyal friends.
When she was sixteen, Imogen began a course with her art teacher after school, developing her sculpting. Mr. Evan Reed was a young, handsome sculptor who sold his work all over the world and taught simply for the love of it. He helped her discover her love for sculpting and for grotesques, and by the time she sold her first piece, the two were secretly dating.
It proved difficult of course. She was underage and their relationship was illegal and socially unacceptable, but neither were willing to give it up. For a long time it looked like they were going to get away with it as well, but shortly before her eighteenth birthday, a class mate who had left their portfolio behind found the two kissing in class, and everything spiralled out of control and their relationship didn’t survive the court ruling, the interviews, or the looks of malice he got for “taking advantage of an unsuspecting pupil”. No matter how loudly she protested that she was not unsuspecting, that she was simply in love, the only people who listened where her own parents.
Imogen begrudgingly finished the school year and graduated, moving away to attend an art access course, using the money from selling her grotesques to rent a small warehouse apartment where she now lives, alone with the art she gives life too.
