Ryder dialed the number with shaking hands but a look of resolve on his generous face.
This wasn’t about him, or his brother, or the ire between the two of them; but their baby sister, Chey.
She was in trouble and she needed their help. The both of them.
When Ben answered in that rough, guileless voice that Ryder had known all his life, he had to clench his eyes shut tight to keep the demons from resurfacing. He’d all but had to bury them deep in his soul in order to make the damn call, and he wasn’t about to risk his sister’s life by giving into them.
“Ben, don’t say anything,” Ryder started as soon as his brother picked up on the other end, “Chey needs our help. It sounds bad man. I need you to meet me at the (so-and-so) airport at (so-and-so). Nothing else matters right now. Just drop what you’re doing and get there.”
And he left it at that, ending the call and immediately grabbing his keys and his leather jacket as he made his way to the big blue jeep.
(( the so-and-so's are because I have no idea where the airport is and I dont think it really matters anyway XD ))
