(Okies, to ease the stress on everyone trying to keep up with the plot, Ry and I've decided to do this the easy way and skip some of the hassle. Originally, it was planned for Tam's to tell Ry but since Chey is needing to take a break, we are going to do this an easy way so we can move forward too.) To: Lexi James, Tristian James, Tams and Kels, Aunt Karlie and Uncle D, and a few other family members along with Ryder's cell number accidentally listed under the family grouping. Ryder was driving, going nowhere really; just absently winding through the gently falling snow as if he could drive to the edge of the earth and fall into nothing. It was a horrible plan, but certainly better than sitting around waiting for the hell hounds to tear him limb from limb before pulling him down into the fiery hole. Yeah, he was still alive. For now. But it was a far cry from really living. It felt more like the first months after loosing Cris and the baby by his own hands; like he was a zombie just walking around without a soul; hungry for something, but taking nothing because he didn’t deserve it.
And it was getting harder and harder to pretend things with Cris were normal. He was fucked up, yeah, he had reason to be. And maybe even though she had no recollection of ever being turned into a vampire and then beheaded before getting resurrected on a deal he’d made in exchange for his soul; she had reason... but -she- wasn’t normal. She wasn’t the same Cristine he loved before all that. She was…different. There was nothing about her that was reminiscent of the woman she used to be save her appearance and though he’d begged to go to the doctor with her to see about the baby, she had refused him every time. ‘Everything was fine.’ She would say. ‘Be patient.’ She would smile and pat him like a tamed pet. But it wasn’t fine and he had been patient for near a year. How patient could a man really be?
A vibration in his pocket brought the young hunter’s attention back to the present, and Ryder pulled his cell out of his pocket and flipped it open, peering down at the little screen. The middle Winchester furrowed his brow in confusion, trying to process what he was seeing while keeping one eye on the dotted yellow line before him.
Was this from…Simi?
The hunter didn’t understand. An ultrasound picture from Simi? Who was she with at the doctors? Was she with Tammy? No…this picture was a little bean and Tammy should be popping any day now. Could that mean Simi? With his…?
Ryder felt his heart stop and he veered off the road and into a snow bank. Simi was pregnant? Could she be?
The man stared at the picture for several minutes before shaking himself out of the mystified stupor. Needing to hear her voice, needing an explanation, Ryder dialed her number and held his breath until he heard her voice. Which didn’t happen. Stuck in the snow storm, the call didn’t go through. The middle Winchester cursed and almost threw the cell out the window, but stopped just before, scrolling back to the picture of the tiny little bean. His bean. Could it really be?
Ryder laughed like an escaped mental patient and then grew gravely serious. What the fuck was he gonna’ do? What about Cristine? He shook his head and threw the jeep in reverse; his intense gaze narrowed and his mind set. He was going to go get his woman. That’s what he was going to do. His angel; Simi.
