A BRIEF CHARACTER DESCRIPTION
Victoria Archibald isn't a name that suits the free spirited surfer chick it belongs to. Tori, as her friends know her, was born to money, to high society, to everything most people would want. Her grandfather was the creator of a popular networking website and that in turn brought their family a lot of money, money which her mother continued to live off, seeing no reason to ever fend for herself when she didn't have to. Victoria's father was happy to live off his wife, leaving a life as an assistant buyer at a retail store to become a house husband. It's not really known how Tori became who she was, of a family of four, where three are so alike, she couldn't have been more different. Maybe it was rebellion, a need to find something to make her different... Her parents seemed to humour her, let her do what she wanted on the condition she was a doting daughter and did what was necessary. The problem for her perhaps was that from a young age, she was taught that her grandfather was always right, and she didn't know enough to know that the things he did weren't right, that she should speak up, and even if she knew, he was telling her she shouldn't. The older she got, the more she learnt it was wrong but the less she felt she could speak out. She was terrified and her grandfather assured her that no one would believe her. She kept it to herself until she was fourteen but a string of out bursts required the school send her to a guidance councillor that got the truth out of her. The police were contacted and her grandfather was arrested. The case went to court, but before it did, her grandfather assured her parents that if it wasn't dropped before he was sent down, they'd suffer for it. It was her mother and father trying to convince her to say she lied that drove her sister away and it was refusing to do so that caused so much resentment in their house hold. Tori didn't know how to live without her parents, who were in so much debt trying to keep their lifestyle, and she felt so guilty watching them fall apart that she daren't ever leave. In fact, it just made her believe more than ever that she had to be perfect. She did everything she hated so no one would look down upon her family. She was... Perfect. Until some scraggy aussie surfer came and whisked her off her feet....
