A BRIEF CHARACTER DESCRIPTION
Duncan would tell you that his life began when he was 12, for that was when his mother left him with a note, a thousand pounds, and instructions to look after his six year old sister for a month. He grew up quickly during that month, walking her to doctors appointments, cooking, cleaning, making sure they had food. But then the month grew into two, then three, and the money began to run out. At 12 years old, he couldn’t get a job as anything other than paper lad, an so that’s what he did. Three rounds a day to pay for food, and when that wasn’t enough to pay for his sisters hospital bills, he started delivering drugs with his papers.
They still went to school. They kept their mother and fathers ( who had died when polly was a baby) absence a secret form the outside world lest they be separated, and at 16 Duncan left school and got a job, finally earning enough money to stop running the drugs.
And so, duncan has lived his life for his sister, doing little for himself until he met a short, brown haired whirlwind who has turned his life upside down in the best possible way.
