We've done sick up, we've done crying, we've done poop.... we've got no other reason for you to object to going into the buggy!!" Cooper could often be found reasoning with his three month old son like he was one of his students, one of the many teenagers that could actually understand him, who was scared enough of the dark brooding hunter that they did what he said at the hint of a threat. His son however didn't seem to show any fear of his fathers threats.... oh no.... he just giggled and blew spit bubbles at him. The ageing man looked into his young sons eyes, leveling his own and looking at him much like he would someone that had pissed him off, but instead of staying stern and waiting for a result, the second those big baby eyes reached his, he sighed and lifted the babe back into his arms. "Okay, you win. Daddy will carry you."
The guy couldn't be more whipped. Between the young huntress that Cooper had chosen to make his wife and the perfect little boy the world had gifted them with, he was screwed. They got their own way every time, and Coop didn't even care anymore... He kind of liked it. Holding the babe against his side, he nuzzled his cheek against Parker's forehead. "MAGS... COME ON... WE'RE GONNA BE LATE FOR THE DOCTORS..." With that, Cooper started putting all of Parker's stuff into the buggy as an easy way to transport it. He might have been a father before, but he'd never done any of this stuff, and it still amazed him quite how much stuff a child so small could need. He went through his mental check list to make sure he had everything, bottles, diapers, burping cloth, changing matt, rash cream, talc, spare outfit just in case, pacifiers, formula, toys, rattles..... it was a never ending list. All just to get his son to the hospital for a three month check up.
"Mommy's gonna make us late, isn't she? Probably putting on her face, we'll have to tell her when she comes out, we'll have to say 'Mommy, you're beautiful enough as it is'. Yes. I think we will. Then we'll see if we buttered her up enough to get her to agree to take us to the park...."

Maggie stood in front of the large mirror in the bathroom, fluffing her hair once more so the soft curls fell in just the right way. Her stomach was in knots as her nerves seemed to get the best of her. Getting out of their place was something she wasn’t comfortable with. It had been three months since the attack and she still had nightmares. Most of the time she curled up to Cooper’s side and just quietly cried herself back to sleep or stayed the rest of the night up watching her precious Parker sleep in his crib as if he might disappear. She had issues, she knew this. But after being attacked by the demon that had tormented them for months and having her son ripped from her body and left for dead…most would think she would be allowed to. But she had a family to take care of. Eddie was right she couldn’t hide in this house forever or she was going to go insane, part of her thought she was already.
The only people that were keeping her sane were her two men out in the living room. Cooper, her now fiancé and their beautiful little boy was all she needed. Fiancé was such a weird thing for her to say. For so long she had given up that she would ever get married, that she would just be happy to be with him but he surprised her with her gorgeous ring. Slowly she looked down at it as it sparkled in the light, a small smile crept up on her lips before she noticed her hand shake. Maggie get a grip! she thought as she moved the hand to smooth down her shirt. Letting her blue eyes look at herself one final time as she heard her love of her life yell for her. A small groan escaped her as she shut off the light and came out, ”Hold your horses Cooper…His appointment isn’t for a little while still…” her voice sounded a bit shaky as she set her purse down in the buggy too.
This was the time that they needed, they needed to get out and she knew this. She bit her bottom lip as she kissed the top of the baby’s little head. ”No parks…we’re doing the doctor which I’m still not even sure about….” she whispered, tucking her hair quickly behind her ear before she busied herself with the buggy again.
Notes: Sorry it's not pretty...stupid not fast internet. I will get it so soon though! <3

It killed him every day to see the way she looked at the door through wild eyes and the way her heart stopped when it knocked, the way her breathing got heavy at the suggestion of leaving or Parker doing so. Even as she left the bathroom, Cooper could see her tremble but he did everything within his power to ignore it, act indifferent and not say anything. He knew she was trying so hard, he could tell by the sense of pride welling up within him. She'd been through so much, more than most people should ever go through, Coop and his best friend had spent a significant amount of time discussing the fact that her and her bestie were seemingly magnets for trouble. It was so hard to see the person you love looking like that, feeling like that. He knew that the way he rigged their apartment up like it a building of the CIA, the way he held her at night, the seven locks on the front door and a gun he left under her pillow, he knew none of it made her feel better. He just wished she wouldn't take it out on him or his son.
Looking at his watch, Cooper sighed. "His appointment isn't for a little while but if we don't leave in the next few minutes, the time it takes to walk there, we'll be late." It was never going to do Parker any good to be locked up all the time. Considering in all this that Maggie was attacked in her best friends home and she in the Academy they once lived, that they were in places supposed to be completely safe, he didn't know how she felt leaving the house would be worse than staying inside, but hell if he said that. All he knew was that after a few weeks of being off work, the indoors was already driving him mad. Between that and the heat, his heart went out to Parker. It wasn't known for him to put his foot down with Maggie, god knew that the girl had him wrapped around his little finger, but as she TOLD him he wasn't going to the park, Coop looked to his son quickly and shrugged. "Well then you can come home, I'll take him to the park."
With that, the rugged and worn ex-hunter looked down to release the lock on the buggy's wheel, shifting Parker quickly and stroking his cheek and kissing him as his head flopped gently against his chest. His heart started to beat faster with pride and he took a deep breath as it tickled his chest. He wasn't going to do anything to risk him, the boy and his mother were his life, and it would have literally destroyed the guy to lose them, but right now.... He was determined.... His son was getting his first trip to the park today. "Come on... We gotta go Mags." [/style] |

So many things had gone wrong in Maggie’s life the last year. Between her possessed boyfriend killing dozens of people including her father to having her son ripped from her stomach there was an inkling that she might be cursed. Bad luck just seemed to follow her wherever she went and it was a bit unnerving. Sometimes she wondered if she should just lock herself up in a padded room just to save those around her from the pain. At that moment she stood there looking at her two perfect things in life. Her fiancé whom she couldn’t survive without and their beautiful, precious son that was just a token of their love. They were the people that kept her going, kept her sane…well as sane as she could be.
Maggie knew she wasn’t being fair, that Parker needed to experience the world but she was scared. Terrified that something bad was going to happen just like it always did when they left their house. She needed to get a grip for the sake of her boys. They were what mattered and they needed to go on. Can’t hide from the big bad world forever, she used to make fun of those people. She looked at Cooper in surprise, it was more like a slap to her face that he would suggest that. Her leave him and Parker? Since they got Parker back after his eventful birth she hadn’t been out of his sight and wasn’t planning on it now. Her fears were legit in her mind and to have him just put his foot down…it woke her up. She did want him to see the park. Hell she wanted him to have a normal childhood.
Baby steps were key in this. With Cooper there nothing was going to happen to them, it couldn’t. He taught her everything she knew about hunting and protecting yourself. With both of them together it was like a power house to protect their small son. Nervously she came up and took control of the stroller, not saying a word as she just opened the door and let her family out. Hands shaking she locked it up secure behind them. No one was going to break into their fortress. Words seemed meaningless as she just put one foot in front of the other. She needed to push forward and just see outside. White knuckled on the stroller they did just that as she did her best to maintain her composure.
“Okay…” she whispered as she looked around then over at him, “We’ll try…" That was all he got out of her for now. She was mentally preparing herself for anything that might come their way. Hunting gear strategically hidden in the stroller and on herself in case of anything. Maggie hadn’t been out in a while…this was going to prove interesting.
((You know you can tell me to change if you don't like it <3))

He could see the shock in her eyes, he even imagined it was coming, after all, she wasn't used to him being stern with her, not anymore. He'd never done anything like this before, which was probably why it was so hard. It was for her as much as it was his son, but if it didn't happen, Cooper feared the worst. So as she took control of that push chair and opened the front door, the smile that came across his face was pure, immense pride. He didn't say anything. He wasn't undoing anything or doing anything to make her question what she was doing, he just walked, letting her take things at her pace and bouncing his beautiful boy. He understood her nervous, her glances, that she was keeping herself alert and aware, after all.... that was what he taught her to do. With his hand covering the baby's head, Cooper kissed it as his fiancee finally spoke in hushed tones.
The almost unrecognisable teacher turned to look at her with a smile and nodded. Moving himself, he got close enough to his girl that he could place his spare hand against the small of her back. Leaning into her, he pressed his lips gently to her forehead, much like he had his sons a few moments previous. "No ones ever going to hurt you again Maggie." He said it with such clarity and conviction. His face showed no hint or a worry or a lie, he would, if his life depended on it, make sure no harm ever came to this woman. He'd lay his life down for hers and he knew damn well that if that happened he had a lot of people he could trust to make sure his standards of care were upheld. It might seem like he spoke about his family like a mission or a job, maybe that was how he made them sound sometimes, but that wasn't it, their safety were his mission, their lives, their sanity, because god help him if he were to lose them. She hardly felt brave as she stood there fighting the urge to just run back inside. The fight or flight part of her brain was begging for flight but with the man at her side she knew that wasn’t possible. No she herself knew she had to fight it. There was no way in hell she was going to be a hermit the rest of her life. Her future husband and son needed her. If anyone could hear her heart it was beating a mile a minute, hands still clutched tight to the stroller handle. Maggie needed to do this, to prove to herself and Cooper and Eddie that she could do this. This wasn’t going to break her, if her father saw how she was acting he would’ve been furious. No she needed to do this. The demon was not going to break her down into the dribbling puppet after doing so much to their family. This huntress was still pissed at the ones that did this, she was planning many different ways of exacting her revenge but none of that mattered at that moment.
Cooper was always like a security blanket, something that with just the briefest touch he could calm her down. Panic had been starting to settle in the pit of her stomach as she looked wildly around, that was until he set his hand on the small of her back. Maggie’s eyes closed instinctively as she let out a breath she didn’t know she was holding. One hand stayed on the buggy while the other came up to grip the side of his shirt to steady herself. His words rang in her ears, a melodic tune that she believed wholeheartedly. Blue eyes opened to look up into his as she gave him a weak smile. ”I know baby….Guess it’s just the lives we live,” she muttered quietly before she brought her hand up to cup his cheek. She trusted Cooper more then she trusted another person, there were things she knew he would just do because that was the guy he was. If anything he confirmed all the reasons she loved him even more when he went after their son after the attack. He would always protect their family no matter what, and now she was going to marry him. Maggie leaned over and kissed Parker’s shoulder before standing on her tiptoes and kissed the man of her dreams softly on the lips, ”I love you.”

He hated that anything could do this to her, he hated that he hadn't protected her from it. That as she suffered, he was at in a bar with his best friend. He hated that he didn't trust his instinct and go home the second he knew something was wrong, he hated that he assumed that niggling feeling was something wrong in the bar not something wrong with the woman he loved. Sure, there was a brief moment when Cooper feared he'd never see his son again, or well, for the first time, that he was maybe destined to lose everything he loved, maybe that was this destiny he'd been told he was fulfilling his whole life. What was the point of being good at something, great as something, if you couldn't protect the people you love? That was why he was more glad than ever before that he'd fallen for one of his students, if only because it meant she had his teachings instilled in her, and more so, she'd always been one of the best. Yes, Maggie Harris blew him away from the moment she first threw her teacher to the mat, academically and romantically. She knew he would blow him away again today, braving the world and stepping out into it. Holding onto him was nothing to be ashamed of, especially not when she was doing the most amazing thing he'd ever seen.
He'd released a gentle sigh as he watched her kiss Parker and moved with her to lay a kiss on her lips. “I love you too.” He said before looking to Parker and rolling his eyes playfully. “Yes... I love you as well... God, childs so needy. It's always 'daddyyyy... What about meeee?' Gah.” Yes, obviously the three month old hadn't made a peep, but some how, Cooper's family had turned him into a lot bit of a dork. He'd kept walking toward the doctors, eyes going to his girl occasionally, and then to his son, and eventually he sighed. “I didn't leave the house for almost a month.... After I lose Josh and Anna. I left for the funeral, because I knew I'd never have forgiven myself, and then I locked myself up away from the world. I ignored my phone and my friends. I didn't feel I deserved them... I didn't want to hurt them. In the end it took Bastian breaking in, pulling the bottle out of my hand and giving me my gun. Doesn't seem like the most inspiring story I'm sure... But I get it Maggie. I get it... But you've got me. I'll never let anything happen again.”
