A BRIEF CHARACTER DESCRIPTION
Tiffany Braeburn was born to loving parents… but parent who died in a car crash when she was five years old, leaving her with only vague memories of their voices. Tiffany was taken into care where she was shipped from pillar to post for being ‘difficult’ – but really… what do you expect from a five year old who, as far as she knew, had been abandoned by her parents? When she tuned seven, she found a place in a permanent foster home that already had seven other kids. All were mal nourished, mis-treated, and used as free labour in the families restaurants – Tiff ran away before she turned eight.
Though it wasn’t the first time she ran away, this time tiff was determined to stay gone, to be rid of the system that kept her prison. She walked, ran, and stole her way onto trains and busses to get as far away from the foster family and the people who hated her. During her first year on the streets, Tiffany lost feeling in her feet and fingers after a snowstorm gave her frost nip. It was then that she decided, I she was to spend the rest of her life on the streets, she had to get somewhere warmer. By the age of nine, she had turned to prostitution to find her way across the country.
Tiffany was 14 before she reached texas, and has been there ever since. Over 3000 miles from where she originally started, she stopped stealing, prostituting, and decided instead to stay where she is. At least for now. Maybe when she’s 21 she’ll head for Vegas. She survived the last five years of her life easily enough – she showered at the public pool by climbing over the wall, she ate from the dumpsters behind mcdonalds, kfc, and tried to get a job. However, no one wants to employ the girl who hasn’t been to since she was eight, who can’t write and other than reading, has no employable attributes.
Then seth came along… and curran…. And after a misunderstanding, several fights and a lot of pain later, Tiff has found herself in a world she doesn’t know, one she doesn’t understand, floundering for breath as her head falls beneath the waves. But… at least she has seth to hold onto.
