Ryder could feel the heart swell in his chest; its thunderous staccato rhythm seemed to echo around the little hotel room. Simi’s words lifted him out of that miserable chasm of uncertainty and his body turned to stone as soon as it received that breathless invitation to Eden.
She trusted him. The merely whispered resonance gave him more purpose than he’d had in months; years. It gave him more reason to keep going; to hunt down the last were in that pack even though you were dogged tired and hurting like the devil. More reason to put the bottle down and pull the gun away from your temple even though you felt like there was no way you could last with this gaping hole in your chest.
It gave him more reason to believe in magic.
The little blonde witch’s threat that she would kick his butt drew a boyish sideways smile across Ryder’s handsome face. A little half growl, half chuckle reverberated in his throat. She wouldn’t have to kick his butt to lay him low. The young Winchester was already at her complete mercy; he needed her so desperately.
When Simi’s lips seared a trail down his neck the hunter let his head fall back and he shuddered, letting loose a sigh of contentment as he slowly pushed apart her legs with his knee so he could get even closer to her.
Ryder settled into her and nuzzled her fine, smooth collarbone; inhaling the pure, intoxicating scent of Simi. She had said he couldn’t possibly imagine how bad she could want him, but there was no way in hell that was true.
The young Winchester needed her so bad it hurt. Everywhere. Ryder knew all it would take to ease that pain was more of this woman. This goddess. She deserved so much better than him.
Another tremble moved up his back as her nimble little fingers came to the waist band of his jeans. A mischievous dimple appeared at Ryder’s cheek when he used his arm to lift up enough to smile wickedly down at the witch, amused as much as he was stimulated by her teasing.
He slid a dexterous hand down between them to glide the button of his jeans open, but that was all she was going to get, for now.
Ryder wanted to show the little witch that this wasn’t just about him. It was about her. He had to make her believe that not all men were like Gregg. Not all touches were dirty and rough. It could be unhurried. It could be tender, and passionate. It could be more than she ever imagined.
Lowering himself back down Ryder’s hand found the one at his waist band, and twining his fingers with hers he gently lifted her arm up to the pillow. His lips found the fragile skin just below her earlobe, and he left a whispered trail of kisses down to the delicate bend of her shoulder as his other hand wrote love poems with his fingertips down the inside of her slender arm.
The hunter sighed and came up on his elbow, smiling down into Simi’s virtuous face as he explored her curves with those light fingertip kisses. Happiness sparkled in her sapphire eyes and it felt so good. He came down to press his mouth over hers in another curious, but anxious kiss; his other hand moving over her chest and across her hip and finally stopping at the hem of the oversized tee-shirt. Holding his weight up once more on his elbow, Ryder grinned down playfully at the angel in his arms. Deliberately unhurried, he started to pull the shirt up, exposing soft alabaster skin.
“I’ll trade you the boxers for the tee-shirt.” He teased huskily just before softly tugging it up, and over her blonde tresses.
He gasped. She was even more beautiful than he’d expected. Ryder’s smoky eyes were blind to the purple and black contusions or the stitches or anything else. All he saw was perfect, white skin. It begged to be kissed, and so he did. Inhaling sharply, he bent to press his lips against her chest; just above the frantic drumbeat of dragonfly wings; her heart.
The thought struck him again that she was like some extraordinary winged creature that was only held down to the earth by the people that loved her. If not for them she might fly away. He was too captivated by the witch to let her go. What if…what if… without her his heart stopped beating again? She was the electricity that kept it revived.
Drawing his tongue across his lower lip, Ryder lifted up to look into Simone’s eyes again. He smiled hesitantly and cocked his head to one side as his hand came up to caress her neck.
“Can I keep you, Simi?” The young Winchester whispered huskily, just before stealing her lips again.
Was it truly possible to feel so much inside after being empty for so long? To feel as if everything were aligning like it should even while the rest if her life was fractured beyond comprehension? ? What were the chances of this not being right when everything inside responded to his touch like a parched desert to the spring floods? With everything that had happened, could she be blamed for grabbing on to the one spot of sunshine left to her?
Simi seriously hoped not because a team of hell hounds couldn't have dragged her away from Ryder the moment he put his hands on her body and began his slow, easy exploration.
Even the feel of her last barrier being drawn away couldn't unravel the weave of seduction that seemed to have enfolded them both in their own little world.
With a racing pulse, Simi felt a flicker of unease only to have the touch of her lovers lips erase the memory that threatened to intrude. Unwilling to let her lashes close for fear of those darker shadows interfering with the magic of this moment, she watched his face and was bedazzled by the mirade of emotions laid bare for her to see. Emotions that allowed the last of her reservations to fall and his sun to banish the lingering darkness in her heart.
As if some spell had been cast, the little blond was helpless to resist the desire that was banked in his beautiful eyes. The soft caresses upon her skin had little gasps of desire bubbling from her slender throat while her heart beat wildly. His questing touch was both gentle and seductive while his smile took the breath right out of her. The slide of soft bare skin against heated, hard muscle made heat pool in her middle and she had to bit her lip to suppress the little moans of pleasure that tried to escape.
God, the man knew his way around things beside engines. The things his hands were doing to her body should have been illegal. His whispered words, though, were the final kicker that sent her heart tumbling right over the edge of that wild precipe she'd been hovering on.
Damn. She'd just gone and fallen in love with a Winchester.
Who'd have thought in a million years that Ry could kick start the heart she'd thought buried by the worst sort of betrayal? Definitely not the young witch herself, that was for sure. If someone could figure out how to bottle whatever it was this man had that made Simi want him so much... They'd be over night millionaires. In her mind, Ryder was the stuff of daydreamed fantasies and childhood love stories. She's always wanted a knight in shining armor.... And it looked as if she'd gotten one.
Even if his armor was a bit tarnished and his soul a bit tortured.
“Always, Ry...” she started to whisper before her lips were taken in a passionate kiss and she was momentarily sidetracked by the depth of emotion that rose in her middle. It was a long moment before she could think clearly and when they broke apart with another gasp for air, she traced her finger over his firm lips and stared into his desire darkened eyes. “God, Ryder.... Do you have any idea what you do to me? What you make me feel? I've never felt like this before.... I … I never dreamed it could be like this... I thought this sort of feeling was only for the lucky few... but you.... you make me want to believe in fairy tales.....”
Then, deciding to let her actions do the talking, the “angel” ran a delicate hand down his front to where their bodies had settled together naturally. The hard bulge there left no doubt about his interest in their current entanglement and a wicked smile graced her features as slim fingers rested lightly on the zipper. There was no fear in her eyes as she eased the fastening down and then pushed at the waistband in an effort to relieve him of the last barriers between them. Her lips returned to his even as her hands worked towards her end game goal and she kept them both distracted from thinking to much.
Somehow, in the process, she managed to get a slim foot up and used it as leverage to hammer the offending article of clothing the rest of the way off.
Only when they hit the ground with an audible “Thump” did she pause in her actions to catch her breath and chew on her bottom lip. Uncertainties tried to assail her then and she looked up at him seeking reassurance that she wasn't completely screwing things up.
Thankfully, whatever it was she saw there had nothing to do with rejection and everything to do with acceptance and.. was that... love? Whatever it was, it reassured her that this moment wasn't about sex or two people taking a tumble in the sheets. It was about them and the truth they'd found in one another.
Ryder couldn’t believe he was really here right now; with her. Kissing her, feeling her warmth against him, holding on to something so powerful and so tangible, it was hard to believe that less than a week ago he’d not only been mourning the loss of a woman and a child, but the loss of happiness, and hope, and heaven help him, love.
Less than a week ago he couldn’t imagine ever feeling anything ever again; and the young Winchester really preferred it that way. Emptiness, feeling nothing…it seemed a better alternative to the slaughter that lingering pain caused him.
He sighed in wonder and wrapped his arm around the slim blonde’s waist, pulling her into him as their kisses got more fervent; certain. He could feel the same marvel echoed in Simi’s kiss, and his body responded to hers as if there was no going back.
And the hunter hoped there would be no going back. She’d already captivated him; and he was ready to give his heart to her completely. He had to. It was all he could do to repay her for making him feel like this; alive again and so lucky to be…
A moan of disappointment escaped his parted lips when Simi pulled away, panting. They were both panting. They were starving for one another. Breathless.
And then her guileless confession; those words made him smile. His heart was beating so fast. She had no idea. He was falling so fast. So hard. It couldn’t be real.
“I do know, Simi” He breathed against her pulse, unable to stop kissing her. “You’re doin’ the same thing to me. You’re… drivin’ me crazy…”
And then his breath caught in his throat and he was held in her impishly wicked azure gaze; a feathery light hand whispering over his pounding chest and the hard ridges of his stomach and finally, he lost the breath in a shudder when she palmed his need with a confident curiosity.
Ryder’s head fell back and he exhaled heavily, unable to think or move; he was so lost in heaven. By the time he’d pulled himself together enough to glance back down at her, the little witch’s nimble fingers worked at his zipper and the sheer control she had over the young Winchester made him weak. The hunter chewed on his bottom lip with a sideways smile at her apparent weakness too; because he could read in her beautiful eyes the same longing that was dancing in his stormy ones.
Ryder let out a soft chuckle as Simi’s delicate little hands tugged impatiently at the confining denim, but soon he was doing the same thing; holding himself up with one elbow while eager hands pushed awkwardly at the offending clothing. He just couldn’t waste anymore time not kissing her. Finally he was freed from the jeans with a groan of relief, but more significantly, he was caught in the witch’s eyes again. A fleeting hesitance in the seraph’s gaze, and he held his breath, desperate for her, but only willing to take it as far as she could handle. He could wait for her. He could wait for her forever if he had to.
“You’re amazing Simi.” Ryder whispered, and did his best to distract them both from the aching need so that he could take things slow; for her. His body jerked against hers; and then he lifted him self up, looking down at her in amazement, as if he’d never seen her before. Tilting his head, the young hunter ran a hand over the blonde’s shoulders, down her long fragile neck, along the rise of her pale perfect chest. He tensed and then bowed to kiss her lower neck, gently, as if he’d never kissed her before. Ryder lost his breath and came back up, his eyes moving back and forth in hers and his fingertips whispered over her breasts, and then moved lower, along the line of her hip until it came to the waist band of her panties. Ryder looked down, a dimple appearing on his cheek when he glanced back up at her with that boyishly playful grin.
“Hello, Kitty.” He teased, slowly tugging down at them as he kept his grey eyes in hers, making sure she was okay as he slid them down across her lithe thighs. With a fumbling, shaking hand he pulled them lower, his hand massaging her long, lissome leg until he untangled it from her foot and let it drop somewhere in the tousled covers. Tension spiked through him, and for a split second it was obvious in his stormy eyes as a pained exhilaration tore through him. God, he wanted her so bad; needed her, but only if she was ready because if it was too soon and he lost her, he’d be haunted forever.
Gently grasping her by the waist Ryder rolled them so that the striking seraph was straddling his waist; still in control of what happened and when. The warm radiating from her core drew all the breath from his lungs, so clutching one pale shoulder he brought her down to his lips, pressing his mouth over hers as if the kiss would sustain him instead of breathing.
Pulling away from her gasping lips, Ryder’s pulse quickened and he ran a trembling hand down her neck and then to the taunt rise and fall of her breast. Unbidden, his hips came off the mattress to press against her, and a moan of unexpected pleasure escaped his parted lips.
“I need you…so bad Simi.” He breathed huskily, letting his exploring fingertips travel down to her waist, and then gently tilting her body so that the delicious pressure shocked the both of them.
This was it. The moment of truth.
Simi knew it the second Ryder paused above her to search her eyes. One little signal from her and she knew that her lover would pull back, no matter the pain to himself. That alone gave her the strength she needed to smile and relax in his embrace. He was her own little miracle in a world full of disillusionment. A gift to be cherished close to her heart and never, ever let go.
Come hell or high water, their paths were now entwined and she wanted him... No, she NEEDED him with every fiber of her being. She needed him to wipe away the evil touches that still lingered upon her skin.... To scatter the demons that howled from the darkest parts of her soul.. He and ONLY he could heal the wounds that still festered in her mind. While Gregg might have touched her heart, Ryder was the one who completed her soul. He was the one that filled every corner of her being and held her secrets safe.
And then, suddenly, there was no more room for doubts or hesitations. It became as natural as breathing, this love play. A soft smile curved her lips at his teasing remarks over her underwear and then he was shifting their positions so that she was suddenly in control. Gasping a bit and leaning over him so that her hair cascaded about them in a shimmering waterfall, Simi knew that nothing had ever felt more right. Right.. or perfect.....
For the first time since she'd turned her back on the life she'd grown up in.. She felt as if she were taking a step in the right direction... That she was finally home and right were she belonged.
With their hearts touching as intimately as their bodies, the little blond reveled in the feel of his touch upon her skin. A soft moan of pleasure escaped her as her head fell back and she sat up enough to push her hair back over a slim shoulder just as he pressed upwards and a shudder of pleasure racked them both.
Unable to stop herself, she smiled softly down at him and wiggled just a bit to draw another shudder from him in her normal, impish manner. Her eyes fairly danced with pleasure and happiness when she leaned down to kiss him again with all the love in her heart.
Events swiftly took their natural course from there and with a little shift, their bodies were joined in breathtaking harmony. Moving in the ageless dances of passion, the rest of the world faded into oblivion. Nothing had ever felt more perfect and the twinges of pain that still lingered melted away in the ecstasy that was Ryder.
Later, Simi would swear that stars fell from the sky but it was a long time before she was aware of anything or anyone other than the man in her arms and in her heart.
And what a man he was. Who needed a picture perfect hero when reality graced you with a chance at something so much better?
Finally collapsing beside him in a boneless heap, Simi curled contentedly up to him like a well fed kitten. Exhaustion rode her hard but her sleepy eyes were filled with something besides shadows for the first time in months.
As a little yawn escaped her, the petite witch smiled sweetly into her companions chest and was comforted by the sound of his own racing heartbeat beneath her cheek. She didn't know what tomorrow would bring but here.. Tonight... She felt sheltered and loved. For now.. That was enough.
With his name on her lips and love in her heart, the little blond was fast asleep before she even realized that she'd whispered her words out loud.
Ryder just kept his gaze locked in Simi’s; ravenous, but patient until she answered his doubts with her eyes and with her movements. She slid against him, a teasing slither and it drew a gasp from the man’s lips. Her long, golden hair was a waterfall of silk across his bare chest and shoulders, and the sensation aroused him more than anything ever had before. He moaned and pressed his back into the pillows, tightening his hold on the hip it was wrapped around. Simi shifted to make it easier for him, and Ryder held his breath as they connected with an exquisite slowness than made his soul shatter all over again. She touched him so deep, it was incredible. It was impossible and corporeal and she was even better than he even imagined.
And they tasted one another, exploring every curve and every secret movement that brought a shiver down Simi’s spine or a gasp from the hunter. They found places with their lips that drew whispered words of affection, and other places with their tongues that produced growls of ecstasy.
The young Winchester’s breathing was fast, and he held onto the witch for dear life as they drove together with a feverish need toward the summit.
And even though he never, ever wanted this to end, suddenly the hunter was standing on the ledge and ready to fall and he couldn’t hold on any longer. The storm broke in Simi as well, and with a husky release of her name from his lips, they rode the thunder until they were both sore, but good sore, and too tired to move even though neither one of them wanted to because there was no better place than in each other’s arms.
Ryder just held the blonde witch; mesmerized at the scent of him all over her, and her smell lingering on his own skin. It was captivating; intoxicating, and soon sleep was too tempting to stave away. As long as she stayed in his arms, just like this. He couldn’t think ahead an hour, much less this exact second. It was easy to pretend that the clock would pause right now, and they’d never have to leave this moment…
As they’d arrived at hotel sometime in the wee morning, by the time Ryder woke up on his stomach with his arm slung across Simi’s middle and a little hello pressed into the mattress, the sun was painting Twilight hues of orange and pink across the sky. They’d slept the whole day. And damn, did it feel good.
He chuckled a little and rolled up onto his side, bending over the angel to find her even more entrancing while she slept. His hand instinctually went up to brush a wild lock of gold from her gently trembling eyelashes, and he couldn’t resist lowering his lips to the very lids that held her dreams against her blue eyes.
If ever there was a moment he wanted to call his baby sister or his big brother to brag, it was now. The thought furrowed Ryder’s brow for a fleeting moment and he glanced at the cell phone waiting on the bed side table.
Not yet. He wanted to keep his secret a few more days, until he knew he could keep her safe. He just wasn’t ready to share her with the rest of the world.
Sliding as easy as he could out from the crazy tangled up sheets, the hunter tugged his jeans on over his hips and pulled the tee-shirt Simi had borrowed over his head.
He slid his feet into his boots sans socks, not even bothering to tie the laces as he grabbed his wallet and snuck out of the room quietly and locked the door behind him.
Ryder was gone less than ten minutes and then he was letting himself back into the cozy space that still smelled so much like lovemaking it drew a sheepish side-ways smile across his face.
He set the bag of greasy food from the diner on the table and perched on the bed next to the angel, waving a double chocolate milkshake under her slightly parted, and softly snoring mouth.
“Breakfast, Simi…” He teased her and then stiffened. AC/DC ‘s HELLS BELLS was playing quietly from his cell phone.
Bastian walked out of the cell phone store, and trashed the bag and box in the first available trashcan. The guy had somehow managed to get the data off the remnants of Bastian’s old phone and put it on his new one. Which was good, considering the fact that the last incoming call had been his sister. Who he thought was dead and because of that he’d been standing in line at the airport getting ready to hop on a fourteen hour flight to go and tell their mother that her only daughter had been murdered by her college boyfriend who had not only had Simi raped and left for dead, but it was thought he could potentially be a demon.
Even thinking that thought sent Bastian’s mind reeling in anger. He’d failed. He hadn’t been able to keep his sister safe, and then he gets a message. A MESSAGE! One in Simi’s own voice saying she was staying with Ryder Winchester. WHAT THE HELL!
Bastian hadn’t exactly been calm about getting this message in the airport, and after causing the place to shake like a mini earthquake all hell had broken loose and someone slammed into him, trying to take cover sending Bastian’s phone flying. For a moment he honestly felt like he was in the middle of some bad horror movie diving around on the ground, inches away from his phone only to have another ugly set of feet kick it away from him.
By the time he reached it had been kicked, stomped and Bastian didn’t know Ryder’s number. He didn’t know if Chey or Ben had it either. Cursing he raced out of the airport to the nearest cell phone store and luckily the chick had been a guru with electronics. He’d lost a few hours, but now he was back on track.
He redialed Ryder’s number and put the phone to his ear, praying that this wasn’t some nefarious trick or hallucination. He prayed that he would hear his sister’s voice, and soon enough, be able to see her in person.

Simi:
There was something to be said for the sleep of the truly exhausted. Happy, content and, for the moment, safe, Simi didn't stir from her slumber until the sounds of a familiar old rock tune invaded her dreams. That and the smell of chocolate. With her nose wiggling at the scent of her favorite food, the little blonds eyelashes fluttered and then gradually came open to revel sleepy sapphire spheres that looked about almost dazzedly until landing upon the man in front of her. Then, a soft, sweet smile curled the edges of her lips.
Right up until she registered the fact that he was holding a cell phone that was ringing out “Hells Bells”.
Instinctively, she knew who was on the other end of that line and while part of her wanted to grab it with both hands.. Another didn't want to face the realization that she couldn't stay tucked away with Ryder forever. For a long moment, she watched Ryder watch the phone and then she sat up and pulled the sheet up around her middle. With a questioning look in her direction, her companion hit talk and lifted the cell to his ear. A quick greeting passed and then he was holding it out to her.
For a long moment, Simi could only stare at it with mixed parts of relief and dread. Then, need for her big brother won out and she was cradling it to her ear listening to the beloved tones of her brother on the other end.
“Bastian? OH GOD...” she said by way of greeting right before reality crashed into the veils of her paradise. “Oh god, oh god, oh god” she cried into the phone, closing her eyes at the sound of her brothers voice. “Its me, Simi.. Its really truly me.... I promise.... I'm so sorry.....”
From nearby, she felt a shift in the bed and then strong arms pulled her into a comforting embrace as she spoke to the phone. With relief, she slumped into Ryders body and let the full story flow from her lips.
“God, Sebastian, he stole me right out of the house.. He'd been watching for the oppurtunity. He had everything all planned out and I thought I'd never see you again... I almost didn't.. I don't know how or why I survived that crash but the body they found... It wasn't me.. it was a civilian that he kidnapped to force me to do his bidding.... After the wreck, I knew I had to get as far away as possible so I walked until I found a different blacktop. Bastian, you need to be very careful. The demon that took me.. hes still out there and he isn't going to give up until I'm dead. He seems to have some sort of vendetta against me and he won't hesitate to hurt you if only because he knows it will kill me. Hes insane and delusional...”
Bastian:
Bastian just blinked at the phone as Simi rambled on. Passerby's would think he was looking at the phone like it was some sort of alien device. Even as he listened his heart slowed a bit, steadied. Yup, that was Simi. No one else would have shot it all out without taking a breath. Well maybe Chey, but Simi he knew. He sagged against the nearest wall, just listening as she spoke, waiting for the quick lipped words to trail off.
When Simi finally seemed to take a breath Bastian jumped in. "You're...alive?" He heard her voice, heard her quirks, knew it wasn't something anyone else could duplicate. It was his little sister. It was the Simster. He didn't know what else to say. Everything else in the world seemed to pause. He could hear her soft breath as she sat silently on the other end. God he wished he was there to pull his little sister in his arms and murmer that everything would be all right. It was a long road ahead of them but it would be all right. At least Simi would be. Bastian would personally see that. "God Simi, I thought..." Pausing he shook his head. "I was about to hop on a flight to tell mom." He took a deep shuddering breath. "Where are you? Tell me and I'm on my way."
He needed to see her. To pull her into a giant bear hug and feel her heart beating next to his. Simi was his sister, and he'd sworn to protect her. He'd thought he'd fail. In a way Bastian had, but right now she was alive and breathing. He needed to get to her. He needed to make sure that Greg didn't. There was so much to be done. Once he made sure Simi was safe he was going after the bastard. He was going to make him wish he was never born.
Simi:
And just like that... Simi knew that somehow... Someway.. things really were going to be all right. She didn't know where that knowledge came from but between Ryders warmth and Bastian love, she knew that it was going to be. There were still so many things to be sorted out but there was no hatred or disgust in her sibling voice when he spoke to her in that bossy way that he used when he was determined to make everything better. God, how she loved that tone even if it made her want to scream at times too. Ever since she was a girl, if there was one thing she could count on.. It was that if it was in Bastian power to make something right.. He'd move heaven and earth to see it done. And she loved him fiercely for it.
Brushing at the tears that had somehow fallen soundlessly down her face, the little blond took a deep breath and tried to pull her head back in the game. Glancing upward at Ryder, she gave him a small smile and then frowned as she looked around the room. She had not a clue where they were at and she suspected that her companion didn't either. Yesterday had been so scattered that she suspected he'd just driven without any real place in mind in order to get as far away from the demon as possible until a plan could be made.
"Um... actually... I don't have a clue where we are at...." she started out before taking a deep breath and biting her bottom lip. "I was.. um.. in the hospital as of yesterday morning... I might have been a bit more injured than I let on but I'm Ok.. Truly.... Ryders number was on my hand when the truck driver delivered me to the hospital and he can as fast as he could.... Unfortunately, he didn't have your number and he didn't know the others were at Tam's house.... But its because of him that i'm still alive, Bastian... Gregg... he showed up at the hospital and he would have killed me there if Ryder hadn't managed to shoot him up with a sedative... From there.. we barely managed to make it out of there and then we just drove.... I think we are somewhere in Kansas but .. I don't know for sure... "
Reaching up, Simi frowned and tucked a strand of hair behind one ear. It was a nervous habit she'd had since a child and a dead give away that she was bothered about something. "Are you Ok, Sebastian? There hasn't been anything.. Odd going on around you has there? You have to be careful because Gregg knows that the first place I would try to run to would be you or Mom...."
Bastian:
Bastian blinked at the phone again. After everything that had happened she was worried about him? "Simi I'm fine." He tried to reassure her. She didn't need to be worrying about him. Simi needed to be worrying about herself. She was the one who had been hurt and almost murdered. She was the one who was going through this. Bastian was trying to be there for her.
He shook his head, not knowing what else to say. Somewhere in Kansas? That was a lot of ground to cover. "You gotta give me something more on where you are, Simi. I'll be on my way, but you have to tell me where. Are you staying at a motel? There might be a matchbook or a phonebook. They usually have their address somewhere in the room incase people want to order a pizza or whatever."
Squeezing his eyes shut Bastian cursed himself. "Jesus Simi....are you all right?" It was the one question he hadn't asked her. It should have been the first one out of his mouth. "Is Ryder there with you? You're not alone are you?" He was so worried about her. Bastian just wanted to get to her and make sure that he was a solid shield between Simi and any monsters that were after her whether they be human or otherwise.
If Ryder let anything happen to his baby sister in the mean time...Bastian swore there would be hell to pay.
Simi:
Closing her eyes at the concern in Bastians voice, Simi nodded and then realized he couldn't see her. "I'm ok, Bastian.. You know we tend to mend faster than normal folks and Ryders been taking real good care of me...." she said softly, hoping to reassure him a bit. "He hasn't left my side and I'm safe for the time being." Then, turning her attention back to the issues at hand, she frowned. "Bastian, we've got to come up with a plan..... Gregg isn't just going to go away and we've got to think of a way to bring the game back into our field...."
Rubbing her brow, she slide out of the bed and wrapped the sheet around her tighter before looking around. On the bedside table sat a phone book so she picked it up and read "Wichita and surrounding areas" on the cover. Well, that was better than nothing. "Bastian, I think we are outside Wichita somewhere."
Then, glancing back over her shoulder, she meet Ryders eyes and moved back to him. Just being feet away from him was enough to start her shaking again and she immediately felt better when he was nearer.
"Where are you at? Maybe it would be better if we met somewhere... I.... Ryder doesn't think we should stay in one place to long and we've already been here awhile.. We both needed rest and time to recoup after yesterday.... "
{JP WITH BASTIAN AND SIMI. RY, I moved you around just a tad. Hope its OK. If not.. just let me know nad I can change it!! Hope it works cause I was flying by the seat of my pants!!}

{JP WITH BASTIAN AND SIMI. RY, I moved you around just a tad. Hope its OK. If not.. just let me know nad I can change it!! Hope it works cause I was flying by the seat of my pants!!}
Bastian:
A sigh of relief escaped Bastian as Simi said she was safe for the time being. Bastian was going to owe Ryder for this one. He was going to owe him really, really big. Actually Bastian wondered if this was a debt he could ever repay. He was more grateful to Ryder than he'd ever be able to express.
Bastian thought about what Simi had said. Gregg was expecting Simi to run towards Bastian or their mother. Which meant Gregg or one of his lackies could be watching right now. Suddenly his old phone getting destroyed didn't seem like such a bad thing. If Gregg really was spying on all of them, well it was possible he had put a trace on Bastian's phone. Not likely as Bastian's phone usually didn't leave his hand, but then again he had ripped Simi out of his cousin's house while they had all been there.
The gears in his head were well oiled and turning at a fast paced. Simi was alive. Now they just had to take care of the bastard who was seemingly obsessed with her for whatever reason. Bastian intended on making sure that Gregg paid, slowly and painfully. If he really was possessed, well he'd deal with that when the time came.
"Greg is expecting you to come to me," Bastian said walking towards his car. "Then that's exactly what you should do. You and Ryder come home, and when Gregg shows up, we'll be ready." The car beeped as Bastian unlocked the door and slid inside. "Check in with me every hour." It might be a bit extreme, but Bastian wanted to hear from Simi as often as possible until she was in his sight again. He'd keep her on the phone the entire time if he could, but that wasn't practical. There were things that needed to be done. Sliding the key into the ignition, Bastian sat back in his seat, his shoulders slumped with relief. "I love you, sis. Please be safe."
Simi:
Hearing the exhalation of breath on the other end of the phone, Simi knew that her brother was finally realizing that she was really OK. His mind was no doubt shifting from protective concern to the methodical hunter that their father had taught him to be. She could practically hear the gears churning as silence fell for a bit and static flickered over the line. Then, Bastian was speaking again and what he said was logical. If the demon was expecting her to go home... Maybe they should give him exactly what he was expecting... Only, with a twist he wasn't going to expect. Going back to New Orleans meant home field advantage and that was one place Simi had never taken Gregg.
And they had the perfect bait to rig the trap.
HER
"Ok, Sebastian... We'll head out here soon and call you every hour....." she said softly, fear and resolution already forming a hard knot in her stomach. "but.. don't call Mom, OK? Lets... Lets just take care of this ourselves, all right? If she comes home, it may scare him off and then we won't have the advantage of surprise anymore...."
After waiting a moment for his agreement, Simi let out a sigh of relief and then heard his last words. "I love you too, Bro... You watch after you... I'll see you soon.. Promise."
Then, hanging up the phone almost regretfully, the slender blond turned back to her companion and held the phone out with shaking hands even as she tried to paste on a bright smile. "Well, looks like its time to cinch it up, cowboy, because its going to be a bumpy ride." she tried to tease but guess she fell short on the attempt. "Last chance to bail if you've got any second thoughts, Ryder.."
Even as she said the words, Simi knew deep in her soul that Ryder would not abandon her. However, she simply felt that she needed to give him the out if he wanted it. Searching his eyes, she waited for the verdict even as her heart seemed to thud on her sleeve. Instinct told her that it was only with him by her side that she would be able to get through the next coming days.
