- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Shiloh tucked a piece of her hair behind her ear, grinning as Adam lead her down this path. It was dark, and she could barely see a thing, so how he knew where he was going she did not have a clue – perhaps he had night vision goggles he had failed to share. Well, if he did he was a dick; she stumbled over ever stray root and stone in the damn place, trailing the fingers of her free hand over the rough bark of the trees as she passed them. What were they doing here? She had no idea. He’d said it was a surprise, one that she would enjoy. Well, Shiloh enjoyed surprises – she just hoped he remembered she had to be work at 6 in the morning, and it was already nearly midnight.
”Where we goin’?”She asked for the seventh time as she tripped over another log. He seemed in a hurry wherever it was, though it was only the grip she maintained on his hand that kept her from falling face first into the bracken. They’d been working for nearly an hour. Deeper into the woods – and well. As much as she enjoyed this place in the daylight, it was creepy in the dark. She clung to his fingers more, skipping a few steps to keep up with his pace.
”Nearly there.” her dark haired heartthrob replied without turning back to look at her. His voice was deep, guttural, and it made the fine hairs on Shiloh’s arm and neck raise, though for what reason she was unsure. She was unsettled by the way he had been acting recently, didn’t like the way he was avoiding her, the fact he only come to see her at night. And of course, he’d disappeared for two weeks and worried her sick... only to turn up at the doorstep. The teen found it all very confusing, and now, alone in the woods with him Shiloh wasn’t sure this was where she wanted to be.
She didn’t have long to think about it though for he stopped suddenly and dragged her into his arms, wrapping them tightly around her waist and she giggled softly. ”This it?”
”This is it”He answered, a thin lipped smile peering down at her in the gloom. Shiloh glanced around, confusion clear in the way she knitted her eyebrows together.
”But there’s nothing here?”
”Not for miles”he grinned, and killed any further questions on her lips with a swift, harsh kiss that smashed their lips together. It was unlike his usual tenderness, but Shiloh was relived for anything. She had been beginning to think she had contracted some form of disease in his absence, one that made her un-kissable. Swaying in his arms slightly, she kissed him back, laughing softly when his lips moved down her throat, nipping at her skin. ”ummm...”She smiled, leaning her head back as his hands travelled up her back and into her hair, knocking her hat from her head as his fingers tangled in his red curls.
She lived in the sensation, wincing slightly as he bit a little too hard. ”hey, whotcha’”She murmured, but he didn’t answer, stilling her head with his hand and apparently ignoring her as his teeth nipped again. ”hey! Stop it!” She said this time a little louder, trying to pull away , but he was holding her still, twisting her head in a way that was painful. ”Adam! Stop! You’re hurting me!”

Vampires it was something he had been tracking in the area for sometime. He learned to be a hunter threw going to the academy especially after regular schooling not really being a challenge to him. He got to challenge himself with training. Sure, he wasn’t as good as some of the others and he was more the brains and plan man and was one that could strip a car down and rebuild it from the ground up and modify it with modifications to suit a hunters needs like hidden weapons all that blah. He mostly stays local towards Texas where his family is from. He has friends all over the world though. Vampires were nasty bloodsuckers with no control most of the time at least that is what he has witnessed. It was what he taught. Sure, some of them still try to live in peace, but there seemed to be an army of new-blooded vampires lingering about the area and taking no prisoners‘. Travis didn’t like people getting hurt how could he.
He wandered some of the local woods with a bag with a shovel, and a guns, and a long blade in case he ran into any vampires. He had been wandering around for hours now, nothing.. Nada, Ziltch. Did they know hunters were on to them? Travis wandered a bit more in to the wood there was a huge clearing up ahead and that is when he heard a couple out there, but he had to be sure they were vampires and not too teens or something out for a lovers stroll. He didn’t want them to get eaten by vampires either or well turned into vampires, but what Travis didn’t know the dude was one just yet. He felt like a stalker stalking about in the woods spying on them, but he was one that liked to get all the facts before going in blind and all. He didn’t want to make mistakes and wanted to be cautious. Being cautious was good. He wasn’t the type to shoot first ask questions later like some of them.
Travis waited and watched and they seemed to be like any romantic couple and seemed to be on a walk and started making out. Everything seemed normal, but suddenly things had turned and the man was trying to bite the girls neck and it seemed like an abusive way and not a sexual way. He was trying to nom her neck off and he couldn’t let that happen. He didn’t know the girl was someone he knew either that would be a shocker to him. He had dropped his bag, pulled the shovel and long blade, and quickly quietly as possible made his way over to the girl who was trying to be made into a tasters delight and based the dude on the back of the head. “Run.” He told her as he fought with the angry vampire. His teeth were all retracted growling at them wanting to chew them both to bits. He really couldn’t let her get eaten. Did she not know her guy was a vampire. Did they just meat. Travis curious nature sometimes got the better of him.
He didn’t realize yet that he knew her. He fought the dude getting his face in the dirt a good few times, Travvie wasn’t really the best fighter, but finally he had gotten his blade an sliced the dudes head off, and then headed over to the woman to see if she was okay. He was going to have to get rid of the body left. He found her. “ Are you all right?” he asked.. This was going to be a hard explaining to her what she just seen. He wasn’t looking forward to that part one bit. Would anyone be excited to let the girl know her boyfriend was a blood sucking being. She probably thought that they were fake and didn’t exist. Travis now noticed her looking vaguely familiar, but it was still very dark outside in these woods.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Shiloh was trying to push Adam away, the pain in her neck growing as whatever he was doing, nipping her neck, turned into something more. He was biting her. She could feel his teeth piercing her skin and she cried at, hitting at him with her fists as she tried to pull away. What the hell[i/] was he doing? She knew he liked some kinky stuff – hell she was all up for playing along with that, but what the hell? Had he become some sort of twilight addict during his month away? She wasn’t sure how long it carried on for, how long his lips stayed at her neck, but with each second that passed Shiloh started to feel dizzy. Her hands were not hitting his chest as hard anymore, her yells were becoming but whimpers as he sucked the life from her neck.
Damn. She was going to die.
The realisation hit Shiloh like a truck, and the breath left her body in a soft whoosh, starting to go limp in his arms. But then his arms went limp and she fell, stumbling backwards in the bracken, whilst some random guy stood over her boyfriends stunned form, holding a shovel.
As if today couldn’t get any stranger.
Then Adam was back on his feet, and the two were fighting. Swallowing, Shiloh took this man’s advice and ran from the clearing, stumbling over the tree roots in the dark. Eventually she fell into a hole between the roots of a large oak, hiding herself between the knots of the wood and listening to the fight going on behind her. Her hand dabbed at her neck and came away red and glistening, the wound tender to her prodding fingers. She didn;t know how long the fighting lasted... but soon she realised it was quiet, and all she could hear was the sounds normally associated with the wood at night. That and her own heart thumping in her ears. She felt dizzy, and sick... and Travis suddenly appearing from the shadows did nothing to help her.
Lets face it. At first she was scared. Then she realised she knew those features, the fall of his hair, and she threw her arms around him. ”Travis! What the hell is going on? Where’s adam? He bit me!”She pulled away, showing him her neck and swaying unsteadily on her feet. ”He Goddamn bit me!”

Today he was actually able to help someone he killed the vampire he seemed as if maybe he had been recently turned and the lust for blood was still high strung in his system. It made Travis wonder if there were anymore out there in these woods and he watched the girl stumble to the ground and he had actually bitten her. How the heck was he to explain this? It would be hard to explain. He had told her to run and she seemed to listen at least she wasn’t one to sit there and blink in confusing like ‘ you want me to do what?’ kind of girls. She had took off and he had to search for her when he had finished Adam off, Adam was strong so he had to out smart the guy to take him out, but he did it, and wanted to find her and see if she was okay and to get her some help before disposal of the mutilated corpse with his head severed from his body.
Travis slowly and quietly crept threw the woods, the wind was whistling threw the branches and the sounds of the woodland creatures could be heard, but still he had to stay on guard in case there was more of them out there, he found her and asked if she had been okay. He thought when he found her that she would freak out and scream for help thinking that she was the dude that tried to bite her, when she realized who he was she didn’t seem as scared and recognized him and launched herself at him. It took him a moment to realize he knew her catching her and stumbling backwards a little as she had pounced on him. How was he going to explain to her that Adam was a dead man and a vampire. He didn’t know how to tell her that.
She was asking where Adam was and he started to get a little nervous she had also wanted to know what was going on and was going on about how he had bitten her. If any others were around they surely would have smelt the blood. He held her close, “ Shiloh Is that really you?” He had asked just checking. He hugged her and stayed quiet for a moment. “ It is complicated what is going on and I am not sure that you would believe me if I told you.” He knew he had to tell her the truth, but would she think he was a mental case or something. Adam had bitten her. He hoped that he didn’t get some of his blood in her wound to turn her too. She had pulled away and was unsteady showing him her wound where he had bitten her. “Sit down for a minute.” He had told her and helped her sit down so that he could check over where she was bitten seeing as she seemed a bit dizzy and unsteady.
“ Do you want to go to the hospital?”
[/b] he asked her, and searched for his bag pulling out some water and a clothe placing the water on the clothe he gently as possible patted down where she had been bitten. He didn’t know how much blood she had lost with him biting her. He had caught it pretty quick but he was still uncertain what was lost so it would be up to her if she had wanted to go. All he could do was bandage her up now till she decides. He didn’t tell her what had been going on yet and waited to see if she would ask again after he had told her that she wouldn’t have believed him. Travis didn’t want her to think that he was mental case, but telling he the truth might be the only way. Travis for one was glad that she was alive and that he was able to help her and be there for her threw this time. He hoped to god that he didn’t get his blood in her system he would hate to have to kill his friend. [/color][/blockquote][/blockquote]

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Shiloh was still in shock. She had to be. She barely felt his hug as Travis wrapped his arms around her, barely registered his answers to her questions. Her neck hurt, she was dizzy, and now the adrenaline of running was kicked from her system, the poor girl thought she might be sick. Once more her fingers reached up to graze the wound on her skin, staring down at her fingers when they came away bloodied. Now she focused on it, her shirt felt wet, sticking to her skin too. Great. How was she going to explain that one? How was she supposed to go home and tell people Adam had bitten her? Maybe she could pass it off as an animal bite... but. Adam. Where was he? Shiloh had not seen Travis kill him, and she still worried after him. It wasn’t his fault surely? He had his moments of being an egotistical pig, but didn’t every guy? No, there had to be a reason for his behaviour...
Shiloh’s vision swam as she sat down, dark spots playing at the corner of her eyes. She knew what was happening – when she had been younger she had tried to lose weight by simply stopping eating. After four days she had blacked out, and that too had started with the black dots at the edge of her vision, faces blending into each other. She took a deep breath, drinking in the oxygen and fighting off the sensation of movement that made her stomach lurch. By the time Travis was pressing the cool wet cloth against her neck, she had managed to fight of the dizziness. Fr now at least.
”The Hospital?”She asked, looking up at him with wide green eyes. It was truly the first thing he had said to truly register, and Shiloh shook her head fervently. ”No, I don’t want to go to the hospital... just take me home?” She looked up at him, in that moment the scared vulnerable little girl she never was, a far flung cry from the normally forward, bubbly redhead. She was feeling better now that the blood had been –partially- cleaned from her skin. The smell of it was turning her stomach again, and though she wiped her fingers on the dark material of her jeans, she still fancied that her fingertips were stained pink.
Standing, Shiloh swayed a bit until she found her feet – if she was lucky, her dad might simply pass it off as being a little drunk when she got home. If she was lucky, she might simply be able to sneak upstairs and into the bath – she wanted to wash the blood from her skin, bin her clothes. She felt dirty somehow, and she hated it. ”No... just, home please?” She was glad then that it was Travis who had found her, and not some other random person. At least Travis she knew. At least she knew she could trust him.

Travis was worried about her with the losing of so much blood. Would she be okay? He wondered if he really should take her to the hospital or not, but decided to ask her if she wanted to be taken to the hospital. She asked him to take her home, but you can tell by the look on his face that he was still worried about her and well it would be hard to explain at the hospital unless he said and animal attacked her, but it wasn’t that. What if she went on about her boyfriend attacking her and that could get messy, but she wanted to go home so he could take her home. “I can do that,”he told her. He still didn’t tell her yet what really had happened and if she asked again maybe he would tell her the truth, but hoped she wouldn’t call the cops on him. Like he would lie to her? He could never..
He didn’t know if she was safe to walk to his truck or not so he didn’t want to risk her getting hurt some more so went to gather his bag and stuck everything in it, placing it on his back, and scooped her up in his arms. So that she could lay her head against his chest and try to relax she was sure she wanted to go home because it had been repeated to him to take her home. “ You don’t have things here in the woods that I need to get do you?” he asked not knowing if she had a car, a picnic. Who knows what her and her Adam were planning out here so he wanted to be sure and hoped that she understood what he was saying.
He carried her off to the truck and once there put her back onto the ground, and making sure she was steady before opening the truck door for her to slip in, and get comfortable… once in he shut her door, throwing his bag in the back, and got into the drivers side where he reached over and belted her in. He was sweet like that and wanted to make sure she was safe how could he not. “ Everything will be okay, Shi.” he told her as he started up his baby and put it in reverse to turn around before putting it in drive and driving off to her house. He still remembered where it was after all these years.
“ Is your father home?” He had asked. He didn’t know if he should help her in or just let her go in if her daddy was home. Things might not look good, so he waited for her to tell him, and looked at her every now and again while driving to make sure she was okay. It wasn’t too long before they were there and he parked the truck and slipped out to open the door for her to get out. “ If you want me to carry you to the door I will.” he had said seeing as she was all staggery in the woods till he picked her up. He had to clean up the mess in the woods still.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Normally, she might have been a little surprised when she found herself being lifted not only from her feet, but into the arms of the very boy she had spent much of her teenage life crushing on. Normally, she might have made some joke about it, perhaps about him being a knight in shining armour, though checking to make sure that it wasn’t actually tinfoil. But then normally, Shiloh wouldn’t have a bite wound in her neck, and a head dizzy enough to make most people think she’d been smoking pot for the last twelve hours.
Leaning her head against his chest, Shiloh shook her heads at his words, murmuring something about not having anything here but herself, and lost herself in the rhythmic beating of his heart she could hear through the light fabric covering his chest. The actual journey to the car was a bit of a haze, and Shiloh only truly became aware she was even in the car when he was leaning across her to buckle her in. Blinking, Shiloh forced herself into consciousness, clawing at sentience with her nails now that the blood was clotting at her neck. She needed sleep, this she knew, but she was pretty sure that after a good nights worth, she would be okay. Blinking, she watched as streets passed through her window, looking for those that appeared familiar and feeling immediate better once she did.
”I... I think i can walk...”She answered, her fingers fumbling for the belt release as they reached her house. The soft click seemed loud now the engine was off, and she quickly tugged on the handle, very nearly falling out of the truck. Leaning against the side, she took a few deep breaths of the cool night air and lifted her fingers once more to her neck. Was her father home? Perhaps. He had said he might be staying late at the shop though, and a quick glance at their garage proved that no, he wasn’t back yet. ”no..”She told him over the bonnet as she made her way to the door, reaching up to get the key from the frame. ”He’s not back yet.... will... will you wait with me until he does? In case Adam comes back?”

It hadn’t been a very long drive to her house. Travis was nervous of course with what happened what if she asked again, what happened with her boyfriend and what would he tell her? He couldn’t really lie to her she is one of his best friends and would she think he is a complete nut case? Travis had asked her if her father was home and if she was all right to walk and she thought that she was, and she said her father wasn’t home. Good then getting her in with no questions and putting her to be would be easier then he thought.
That is indeed, what he thought until he got her to the door and she asked if he would stay with her till her father gets home in case Adam comes back, Travis used his keys and set the alarm on his baby for now, would she want him to stay once he tells her the truth? Would she scream and call the police? He didn’t know what to tell her really. He started to pace about a bit. “Ummmm.” he spoke and shut his mouth again. Would she think by that he wouldn’t want to stay or shouldn’t stay. He was all-nervous now…
He sighed, and looked at her seriousness written on his face. He couldn’t believe he was going to tell her the truth. Would she press onwards more thought. “ Shi, Adam won’t be coming back from where he is… He techiqully was already dead. It was why he tried to take a big chunk out of your neck. He wasn’t human. He was a vampire, yes they are real and before you scream I am not crazy. Travis rambled out quickly. Would she believe him or think that he is indeed crazy that her boyfriend was a vampire.
Did she think he was just drunk and getting a little rough?? Hell no the dude was a blood sucking fiend that wanted to make her his happy meal on wheels or in heels whatever the expression was he didn’t know, but he was scared now that she would call the police on him and think he is the freak. “ You have to believe me, I wouldn’t lie to you. You know me. Have I ever lied to you?” He was trying to make her see that he wasn’t lying, but it sounded like random babble and what if she didn’t believe things exist. He was raised to believe so. No he wasn’t drinking either. She had the bite marks to prove it. Would she believe him?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Shiloh listened to his ramblings in silence, her features twisted in a look of complete placidity it was impossible to tell just what she was thinking. Her head span and she shivered, though from what she wasn’t sure. She was suddenly exhausted – longed for the double bed she knew lay just up the stairs, the familiarity of her mother’s perfume in a world that seemed intent t turn itself on its head, and give her a good shake around just for good measure. Turning from him, she opened the door and stepped inside, leaving it open for him to follow as she fell onto the couch. Leaning her elbows on her knees, she held her head in her hands, vibrantly painted nails losing themselves in her red tumble of hair.
She started with the thing she had been told first, and lifted her head to look at him. ”Adams dead?” She didn’t care about the other stuff just then – she’d just been told that her boyfriend was dead. That he had been dead for a while. She didn’t care about the vampire stuff... in truth, though her neck hurt and she felt woozy, did she even truly care that he had taken a bite out of her neck? She didn’t appreciate it, and hell, she probably would have killed him herself; but she was going to kill him for a lot of things most days. But he was actually dead? Shiloh felt like someone had reached into her chest and pulled her still beating heart from her breast and frozen it.
She didn’t feel, anything.
She knew she should be in tears, she should be screaming and crying – she should hate Travis for the meaning behind his words, the thing he was hiding from her and refusing to outright say. She should be demanding answer and calling the police, but Shiloh didn’t want to know. She didn’t want to know how he had died, she didn’t want to know what her boyfriend had become or the gory details of what he might have done to her. She wouldn’t to cling to the Adam she knew, the boy with the ruffled hair and the smile that made her knees weak.
”I believe you.”She said, because the truth was, she did. She believed every word coming out of his mouth – and that was the problem. She didn’t want to believe him, she wanted to wake up in her bed, for adman to be laid next to her, for him to laugh at her as she told him about her crazy dream. ”I.. I think i need to go to bed.”

He had told Shi everything that happened well not in gory details, but told her that Adam wasn't coming back and that he had been DEAD and that he was a Vampire. He thought she would freak out and go mental at him. He just couldn't lie to her and perhaps that makes him a sucky hunter. She had repeated ' Adam's dead' and he had just nodded making sure that she had heard him right and figured she would run off to call the nut house. He was so nervous telling his childhood friend such things. He would rather have comforted her for him breaking her heart then having to deal with this. This was so much harder for him.
Travis had followed her inside closing the door behind him and was making sure that she was okay, she had to still be drowsy from the loss of blood. He expected that she would be in tears that she would break down and cry because her boyfriend was dead and yell and scream at him saying that he is a liar, that he isn't telling her the truth, but was shocked when she said she believed him. He sighed with relied and looked at her. " You do?" he had said, and he was glad she believe him. He was glad she wasn't telling him that he is nuts and that this was some bad dream that she was having. He didn't want her to hate him. Travis hadn't sat down or anything and just looked over the house. It was the same as when he was little it brought back so many memories. It was weird how they just grew apart and things changed.
He was glad the police weren't busting the door down to arrest him now or something. She had told him that she things she should go to bed. " Will you be all right getting up there?" he asked. He didn't want her to tumble down the stairs. " I could carry you up there if you like. I don't want you to fall and hurt yourself and want you to be safe." It wasn't a lie at all and was the total truth he would hate it if he was here and she got more hurt then she alreadywas." What are you gonna tell your dad when he gets home?" Surely he would ask why Trav was here right? Did she still want him to stick around that is till her daddy got in.." If you want me to leave then i understand too just say the word." He was rambling again and that was probably because he was still a bit nervous.
