There were flashes of light... A dozen different voices... and pain that was never ending.
On some level, Simi was aware of all these things even as she drifted in and out of consciousness. Somewhere in her mind, she knew that she was safe for the moment. The big burly truck driver had radioed ahead to warn the emergency room that he was bringing up a battered victim so they were met with a ready staff and she was instantly assessed as critical and moved directly into the operating room.
As they moved her, Simi's eyes blinked open in time to hear someone asking for a name and the nice man who'd brought her in telling them that he didn't have any information. As he told the nurse where he'd found her, the little blond let her eyes close again.
The next time she came too was to the feel of a needle poking into her hand and drugs being pumped into her system. She knew that she was in bad shape when the nurses started shouting for immediate surgery prep.
“I don't know what got hold of her but our girls a mess!” one person declared. “I can tell where she was beaten up, in a wreck or hit by a truck.... “
“Yeah, if you only knew the half of it..” the witch thought to herself before letting herself go again.
From there on, it was an on again, off again game. The pain of her body was so intense that her mind refused to cope so it eased itself by letting her sleep. Even when she was half awake, she could only catch bits and pieces of what was happening around her.
“We've got multiple lacerations all over the body......Hands are pretty much hamburger.. guessing glass cuts....“
“Severe blow to cranium..... Probably accounts for the dilation of her eyes... Looking at head trama most likely....“
A different voice intruded then and she suddenly realized that she was in an exray room with beeps going on around her. Again, she let herself float as the world zoomed in and out.
“Maybe some broken ribs....Internal bleeding for sure...”
“Do we have any idea who she is or what happened to her?”
“...no identification...”
“... number on her palm..... name Ryder.....”
At that name, Simi's eyes fluttered open and she grasped the nearest nurses arm and met her gaze dully for a moment. “Ryder.... please..I need... Ryder...” she breathed before darkness claimed her again. Somehow, that thought seemed to sooth her and as the medicine the doctors shot into her IV took effect, she was able to let herself go.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When Simi next came awake, she wasn't sure how long she'd been out. In fact, she wasn't sure of anything at first except that she was in a lot of pain and that the white of the walls surrounding her where pretty well blinding. Blinking blearily, the young witch struggled to understand where she was and why she wasn't at home at Karlies. Her brain seemed frozen at first and she couldn't make heads or tails of anything through the drugged fog that was her mind.
The stir of movement beside the bed made Simi shift her head to stare at the handsome young man sitting there in surprise. Her first thought was that he looked like hell and there were dark shadows under his beautiful azure eyes. Why on earth would he be looking so serious after she'd left him with a sparkle to those dark orbs?
For a moment, her sapphire eyes were confused and then it was like the light bulb came on. Everything that had happened previously came rushing back and tears flooded her eyes. As a soft cry escaped her, she saw Ryder's attention snap up and then the tears started to poor down her face. The thought of him seeing her like this was beyond embarrassing but her emotions didn't seem to care. It seemed more important that he was here and some sense of safety had come with him.
“Oh my god.... RYDER...”she sobbed, even as the bandages registered on her hands and body. “OH GOD.. OH GOD... OH GODDDDDDDD....He tried to KILL me!!! He killed that poor innocent girl... God.. Gregg is probably dead..... Demon... possessed.... Oh GOD!”
As the fear and memories returned, Simi thought she was going to hyperventilate. The words tumbled out but no air would return. Curling forward in bed, she struggled against the panic that swamped her.
Simi really did have the magic in her. Ever since dive-bombing his seclusion and then leaving in as long as it took the smoke to clear, the hunter just couldn’t stop thinking something had changed. She had bewitched him; that was for damn sure. So, he hadn’t gotten in his jeep and headed back to the Winchester abode. There wasn’t that much of a difference in him. But he had picked up the phone… and dialed… and hung up each time. Nope, he wasn’t ready to go all the way yet, but it seemed like the little angel and devil that used to sit on his shoulder -before- the incident with the vampires (and had since disappeared on him) were whispering to him again. ‘Do the right thing.’
'Screw the right thing, you still need time!’So what if they were arguing on each of his shoulders? At least they were back, which was as much a wake up call to Ryder as if he’d been slapped in the face. He really had been acting like a zombie these past few months. Hell, he hadn’t given a crap about anything, had he? Just passing each day in his own hellhole and staying as drunk as he could so it wouldn’t hurt as much. Well, hell. He hadn’t drunk anything today, and it didn’t hurt as much. That thought made a sideways grin ghost across his face, and he lifted the soiled rage to his forehead to wipe a bead of sweat. It left a black smudge across his left eyebrow, and he tucked the rag into his back pocket and leaned back under the hood of the truck. And then came the ‘call’.The sudden din of Hells Bells from the front pocket of his jeans caused the young Winchester to shoot up, hitting his head on the hood of the vehicle. With a string of angry curses, Ryder pulled the phone out with one hand and rubbed his cranium with the other. Who ever it was, was gonna’ get an ear full. The earful turned into a gasp and another curse when the person at the other end turned out to be the hospital that Simone Blair had been taken after an apparent assault and car accident. Ryder couldn’t help but feel a surge of guilt wash through him. She was still running from him, and he had caught her.Why hadn’t he called Karlie to check in on her? He’d meant to a dozen times, but like his family, he had hung up before getting an answer. Because he was a selfish prick, that’s why. He’d been afraid that Karlie would weasel his whereabouts out of him, and he’d have to leave town before the Winchester clan got wind of it. Damn it! If he hadn’t been self-centered, maybe she wouldn’t have gotten hurt. Maybes didn’t ever get you anywhere, really. He didn’t even clean up the mess or lock up the garage when he left. Just threw his leather jacket on over the oil stained grey-blue tee-shirt, grabbed his wallet and his keys, and tore away from there like a bat out of hell. It took him a little less than a day to get there, but Simi hadn’t even known; she’d been through the ringer and surgery, and hadn’t opened her eyes yet. God, just the sight of her made that darkness creep through the hunter, and turned the blood in his veins to acid. She had a bandage wrapped around her head, the golden hair underneath matted and dull with dried blood. Both her eyes were black and blue, and her virtuous lips were pale and thin. Her hands were bandaged too, and the right one was red where the still bleeding wounds seeped through. Her torso, like much of her body, was tightly bound, and he could barely make out the rise and fall of her chest when she took a breath. The young Winchester winced and had to turn his face away, shutting his eyes tight to block out the image of more than one male molesting the angel while she struggled to live. Oh god, not again…please. So he’d been sitting there beside her bed, only leaving once to get coffee and use the toilet when the nurse had come in and asked him for a moment of privacy. The chair next to the bed was uncomfortable, and Ryder was slumped forward with his elbows on his knees and that cold cup of coffee rolling between his palms. The sound of a soft whimper caught his attention, and when he looked up into the witch’s frightened gem-blue eyes he came forward in his seat to clutch the bedrail. He couldn’t understand every word of her panicked cry, but the words Gregg, dead, and demon possessed sparked something in his brain and Ryder hastily worked to put down the rail that separated them. Sliding onto the mattress beside her, he tugged Simi up as gently as he could, forcing the seraph to look at him. “I’m here…Its gon' be okay. They wont hurt you again.” The young Winchester tried to comfort her even as rage had his boyish visage twisting into something fierce and predatory. “Do you know where he is? The demon? Is it using Gregg's body?" If Gregg really was a demon, who’s to say they were out of danger here? The mother fucker could be anywhere. He had to get her out of there, and ten minutes ago.
The world felt as if it was in a tailspin of unbelievable proportions.
Simi no longer felt as if it were a safe place or that there was any sort of safe haven to be found. Her mind was to preoccupied with the thoughts of everything that had happened and the fact that she'd been the cause of even more deaths that, though she hadn't commited herself, she still felt inwardly responsible for. The memory of that poor girls lifeless eyes would haunt her forever even as she knew rationally.. there hadn't been a damned thing she could have done to save her.
But then... Who ever said emotions were rational?
As thoughts and memories spun about in her head, the little witch knew she was close to having a mental breakdown. Her breaths were in ragged gasps as she fought the intruding horror but it was the feel of Ryders arms sliding about her that truly broke the hold they had. How he did it, she didn't know but the feel of him next her soothed, if not completely calmed the savage storm.
Gradually, she came back to herself and the hospital room in time to feel her companion pull her face up to meet his own. Concerned blue eyes searching hers as he tried to read the story in her own sapphire depths.The words he spoke served to ground her and she took a shaky breath before searching for the right way to explain everything.
“He.. he thinks i'm dead, I think....I was at Karlie's and … I received this twisted email with all these... awful pictures.... Oh god....” she whispered, closing her eyes against the pain. “They were sick.... I freaked out and Karlie made me lie down... I must have fallen asleep but when I woke.... I heard Jess and some of the others in her living room....She .. she went and told them everything I think.... I couldn't stay there anymore so I went back to my room to grab my stuff and then ….. Gregg was there...”
Shuddering, Simi tried to think through the fog of her drugged mind. Her body curved as if by instinct into Ryder and then shuddered.
“I don't remember what happened there really.. we fought and then he must have hit me and knocked me out.... The next thing I was aware of is the fact that we were driving and he was telling me that I should have been the first and that he was going to kill me... At first, he wanted me to “join” him but I wouldn't... He started driving recklessly then and I knew it was only a matter of time.... It occurred to me to jam the motor on the challenger and it took him enough by suprise that I was able to bail out the passenger side door and roll... Then I ran.... There was a rest stop..... I managed to get inside and barricade the door but.. he used another girl to get me out.... I threw holy water at him that I made in the sink and tried to run with the girl but.... It was useless.......”
Becoming aware that tears were streaming down her face, Simi tried to wipe at them with her bandaged hands but was forced to growl helplessly.
“He forced us both in the car and then took off.. I don't know how long we drove before he started crashing into guard rails and taunting us.... Before I knew what was happening... the challenger was out of control and slammed into the side of the hill before it spun over to the opposite side and went over.... I was wearing my seat belt and so was the girl but.... we flipped over so many times... I thought I was dead for sure... If it wasn't for the fact that the old car was made so solidly.........”
Choking on the new realization that she was lucky to be alive, the blond fell silent for a moment before continuing.
“When we finally hit bottom.... the other girl was dead.... Glass had flown everywhere.. I had blood on me everywhere and the smell of gas told me that the car was moments from exploding.. I managed to get out of the seat belt and drop before crawling through the window.... I wasn't fifty feet before it blew to hell and back..... I'm sure Gregg thought I was still in there.... but I knew I had to get away so I forced myself to walk..... I don't know how far I went but it seemed like hours...... and then I found the side highway..... I remember a truck.. and thats it.....”
Exhausted by the telling, Simi allowed her head to fall on to his shoulder. The recount had left her trembling and feeling as if she were going to be sick but again.. Ryders presence was comforting.
“Wait....” she said suddenly, frowning and looking back up at him in confusion. “How did you know to come? I'm sure I didn't have any id on me.. my purse was in the car.... Oh GOD..... Has my car been found? The others must know I'm missing by now.. I have to call them and let then know I'm alive... but I can't go back there, Ryder! I just can't! I cant endanger them like that.... He's not going to stop.... He's NOT GOING TO STOP UNTIL I”M DEAD”
By the time she finished, she could hear the sounds of hysteria creeping into her voice. Logically, she knew it wouldn't do any good but the thought of the demon harming anyone else she loved or cared about made her physically sick.
“God... Bastain..... He doesn't know .. about any of this.... Hes probably going nuts..... Hes' going to hate me......I should have told him ages ago.... I was just so scared.... After I left you, I had decided to do just that... I wanted to do just that... But not this way.. Not like this...”
Ryder held Simi close to him, but gently so not to irritate her wounds; letting her ride out the storm until she had recounted the story of her kidnapping and accident. He could see pain and fear in her sapphire eyes, and he could hear it in the soft winces and whimpers that left her parted lips as she spoke and adjusted her body in his arms. Each look and sound cracked his already broken heart, and he hated the world for what it had done to them. The both of them. Upon seeing Simone’s frustration at the raining tears, he lifted a hand to gently wipe them away, the expression on his face telling her without a word that she should not be ashamed of them. If he had any more tears left with in him, no doubt he would let them fall right now, but it seemed as if he was dried up on the inside; made that way by the tragedies that had surrounded him for so long. When she had finished, Ryder let out a shuddering breath he hadn’t even been aware he was holding in. Misery tore at the hunter’s soul for her, but there was something else in there too. It was the tiniest light of respite; the glow made so by the knowledge that though she had been wounded and another killed, this time he hadn’t raped her again. If the hunter still believed in God, he would be thanking him for miracles right about now. When the witch begun to sound panic-stricken again and suggested that her friends and family needed to be notified, Ryder shook his head in adamant disagreement. He knew it was true, but her safety was more important than their peace of mind at the moment. Until he saw the black smoke come out of Gregg’s mouth with his own two steel-blue eyes, he wasn’t going to believe for a moment the demon was dead and out of the picture. “The nurse said my number was still scrawled on your hand.” The young Winchester addressed her first question, unable to let the sheepish beam turn up one corner of his lip. “She said you were asking for me too…”He cleared his throat and dismissed the needless questions he had about -that- and focused on getting her somewhere safer. There would be plenty of time to ponder the unexpected emotions he’d been having when the demon was back in hell and Simi was out of harm's way. “We’ll get in touch with your family soon enough, but right now we’ve got to get you some where safe.” The hunter said and gently released her, getting up to retrieve a white cotton robe that was slung over a chair beside the hospital bed. Holding the dressing gown out to her, gravity was written all over his generous face. “If the demon is still hunting you and he knows how badly you’re hurt, the first place he’ll look is here. We’ve got to get you somewhere else, and now.”Ryder’s expression softened when Simi mentioned Bastian, and how he’d probably abhor her for what had happened, and he shook his head again and reached out to tuck a strand of her tousled silvery-blonde hair behind her ear. “Simi, he won’t hate you. He’s your big brother. He would never hate you.” The hunter inhaled sharply, thinking of his own baby sister and how he would feel if it were her in Simi’s shoes. The mere thought made bile rise suddenly in the back of his throat and he had to shake his head to clear the reflections as well as the rise of anger that was starting to light him up again. He needed a clear head for the both of them if he was going to get her somewhere safe. “Put this on.” The robe was still in his hand “I’ll carry you out of here if I have to.”
So, she'd been asking for him.
She supposed she should feel a bit funny about it but she could only nod at him and shrug a bit helplessly. In all honesty, it didn't really surprised Simi to hear that she'd called for him since she'd felt so safe with him the night before all hell broke loose. To her mind, she'd probably equated that feeling with him and it had been instinctive to want the one person who seemed to understand her pain and torment.
What amazed her the most was that he'd actually come. That alone made her feel like maybe the world wasn't such a dark, scary place after all without any place for her to feel comforted.It was also the reason she was content enough to listen to his words and follow his directions.
Her Mama hadn't raise no fool, after all.
Lexi has always ingrained a big lesson into each of her kid's heads while growing up. Well, besides the normal manners and decorum that she expected of them on an everyday basis. While she expected each of them to be able to stand on their own two feet, she also expected them to have the common sense to know when they were beat and when it was time to lean on others. The Blair pride was notorious for raising its head but she taught them to think past it in order to accept help when it was truly needed and to keep their mouth shut when someone offered it.
Well, at least one of her kids had gotten it. Bastian, she suspected, was still working on his own lesson but Simi was smart enough to see what her mother meant. There was a difference between relying on someone for mundane things and relying on them when you had no other choice.
This was definitely one of those times her mama had been talking about.
Hearing Ryders words, the little witch knew he was speaking the truth and knew it was only a matter of time before the demon figured out there had only been one body in that car and tracked her here. Honestly, she was actually surprised that he hadn't yet shown up but she also wasn't exactly sure how long she'd been out. That, alone, was enough to have her following Ryders directions and slipping out of the bed to stand wobbly on her own two feet.
"Your right, Ryder.. but no way am I letting you carry me outta here... I'm a Blair and we always walk out on our own two feet.. even if its with a hobble!" she croaked out hoarsely before wrinkling her freckled nose at the robe. "If we run into the demon.... He might just laugh himself to death seeing me in that thing...."
Using the words as a cover for her the pain it caused her to move, the witch forced herself to breath as she reached to slip into the awful looking thing and then grimaced when she realized she as still attached to the monitors and IV stand.
"Well, HELL!" she muttered before closing her eye and ripping the vein catheter from her hand and tossing the oxygen piece off her head. "I really.. REALLY hate hospitals."
Then, turning back towards Ryder, she allowed him to help her into the thing. Embarrassment caused a red blush to creep over her cheeks but she shoved it aside in favor of getting the hell out of there. Finally, after the stupid thing was belted shut, she forced herself to square her shoulders, at least as much as she could, and then glanced up to meet his eyes.
"So... whats the plan, Captian? Have you got a secret transport portal you've been working on or are we going to make a break for it? If we are then you get to be Frank Dillinger and I get to be Evelin Frechette. I've always wanted to be a mysterious woman on the run."
When Simi decided to stand up on her own, Ryder took a step back, giving her space, but holding out his hands in case she needed any help. The hunter had to give it to her… the woman was freaking determined, and that wasn’t any sort of bad. In fact, despite their dire circumstances, it drew a satisfied smile across his face and causes a glowing warmth to spread in his chest. She was superwoman.A soft chuckle escaped his parted lips at her sense of humor even in the face of danger, and he shook his head and arched an eyebrow at the witch; a teasing light coming to his eyes. “What? I think it’s pretty sexy…” The joke was followed by a snort that turned into a wince as he watched her rip the IV from her hand, for he knew that sting was just adding to a long list of aches and pains she must have. Inwardly the young Winchester wished he could take all that pain from the blameless blonde and hold it in himself. She didn’t deserve it, and besides, he had learned to use that pain as punishment for his own inner guilt. When Simi turned back to him for help into the robe, Ryder straightened, forcing the look of regret he knew that had been written on his face into something more certain. She needed him to be strong, as much as -he- needed to be strong for her. The chance to save this woman was a like a balm on his wounded soul. He would triumph this time where he had failed before, or he would die trying. Hell, if he didn’t succeed the hunter knew death was the only thing that would stop the pain growing inside him like a weed. His spirit wouldn’t be able to live through that. Clearing his throat Ryder tried to force his eyes on where the sun filtering through the window made a golden halo on her crown, but unbidden, they shifted lower, pausing at the gap in the thin cotton hospital gown that showed her pale little rear end. He tried to stifle the chuckle but it was no use, and a rumble shook his chest even as he slipped the thick robe over her shoulders and helped her belt the front closed. “Really Simi? Hello kitty panties? I thought you would have grown out of those along with the pigtails…” The hunter gave her a cock-eyed grin and shook his head, laughing again at her comment about being Dillinger and Frechette. He lifted his hand to run it back and forth across his short blonde hair and teased his lower lip with this teeth, building up the courage to wrap his arm around her middle to help her into movement. The last thing he wanted to do was add to her pain. “Okay then Evie…” Ryder began, guiding them slowly to the door and peeking out the little glass window before pushing it open. “We’re really about to warrant those names because we have to get you something less obvious to wear. If someone sees me sneaking you out their liable to throw me in the slam for kidnapping…”And out into the hallway they went, moving slowly, and stealing glances into random windows until Ryder found what he was looking for. Putting a finger to his lips in an appeal for quiet, the young Winchester left Simone leaning against the door as he went around the bed where an overweight woman was snoring. Her overnight back was open and overflowing with tacky attire, and he grabbed the first thing that he could. It ended up being a pair of large denim stretch pants and a tacky hot pink halter. “This is gonna’ have to do for now, sorry…” he told her in a whisper as he offered up the clothes; once again having to fight the urge to laugh out loud.
He had stayed at the scene of the crash for a while admiring his handy work, and loved that all the cop cars, the ambulances’ and fire trucks were there cleaning up the mess that he had made. Finally, SIMONE BLAIR was gone! He had taken her down. It felt good, but an ambulance had pulled away, which made him arch a brow at that, the lights were going, and then he heard someone talking about there was only one body in the car! One body, that wasn’t good at all, did that stupid witch live using some kind of magic or was it that stupid girl that lived either way he had to find out and they had to die. He didn’t need any witnesses if it was her. He didn’t need the police coming to get him. He was fuming now, and had to get to the hospital. He had stolen the nearest car and speed off into the night like a bat out of hell trying to get to the hospital quick. If he got their quick enough maybe, he could kill whoever lived before they get out of surgery.
On the way there he got held up by some road blocks, and got pulled over for speeding once again, and murdered the woman police office leaving her lying on the side of the road muttering something about ‘ stupid bitch you made me do this.’ Simone knew what he is now so if she lived she would have all her little hunter buddies after him that was for damn sure. It took him sometime to get to the hospital, but once he was, there he skimmed the perimeter it was night so most of the doctors were gone and it was only the night crew. He snuck into the security office and slit the throats of the security officers. He had looked at the Camera’s to see if he seen anything, but they didn’t have camera in the room so he had to hack into the computer and see who was admitted into the hospital.
He didn’t see Simone Blair’s name, but there was a few Jane Doe’s seeing as there had been no ID, but then again if it was Simi what were the odds of her having a false name anyways if Simone Blair was her real name after all. Oh, hell he was going to have fun here. Gregg was covered in blood from them guards, he went into a Jane Doe room and no one was there. ‘Hmmmmmmmmmmm’ he pondered. ‘Where would a Jane Doe get to besides the morgue.’ he though as he had went into another finding some old woman in critical condition on life support. He had pulled the plug on her and then all the sudden the alarms went off ‘ CODE BLUE, CODE BLUE, CODE BLUE’ and some nurses came running in, in which he had pinned her by the throat against the wall. “Where is Simone Blair.” he spat slamming her into it. The code blue siren still going off.
The woman was scared, and she didn’t know who Simi was and she even said that. “You lie.” he said. “Turn that noise off the woman is gone.” he made her turn the code blue off as other, nurse were scrambling about in the hall. Gregg made her tell them the woman was gone and it is too late, before pulling her back into the room and killing her too. She was a witness and he couldn’t have that. He slumped her over the bed with the dead woman, and walked out of the room slaughtering anyone who stood in his way with this knife he had picked up a few years back. “Simone Blair. I know you are here you stupid bitch. Come out come out where ever you are! Don’t make me kill anymore people.” He screamed down the hall..
She couldn’t have gotten too far really seeing as she was in the accident so she had to be pretty messed up right? She couldn’t get away. Did she have help? Would she hide or come out? She had to be here. She just had to be. He could have a field day here with people. He did love to make a mess. He was covered in blood already. He was waiting to see if anyone comes to this floor and if she heard him. He didn’t want it to be a surprise that he was here her wanted her to know and if they were going to play hide and seek he was game.. He just didn’t know a Winchester would be here as well. The fun was about to begin.
Talk about embarrassing.
Wouldn't you know it.. The one time she had to flash Ryder intentionally, she had to be wearing Hello Kitty underwear. Oh, noooo.. It couldn't have been something silky and sexy.. It had to be pink, cotton and printed with little blue kitties on it.
It was enough to make her want to bury her head in shame.
Thank god she was made of sterner stuff then that. Besides, it could have been worse right? At least he hadn't caught her in her Scooby Do undies!
“OH HUSH!” she retorted at him with a roll of her sapphire eyes before glancing at him to see a funny expression cross his face. Arching a slender brow, she wondered at the fleeting impression but then he was slipping an arm about her and easing her towards the door and out into the hall with cautious intent. Simi found herself grateful for his strength as pain coursed through her with every step but she shoved it down and then leaned on a doorway when he suddenly took a detour.
“What are you...” she started to ask before her eyes grew wide and she stared in horror at the clothing he quietly looted from another patients pack. “You cant be serious?” she started only to hear his apology. “Uh.... Ryder, I don't think those are going to fit... and probably leave me more bare than I am now! Can't we just deal with the gown for now and you can lend me a tshirt or something when we get to whereever your taking me??”
Seeing his determination in his eyes though, Simi sighed.
“All right.. all right.” she exclaimed before looking at the bathroom and starting to shuffle towards it.
And that is when all hell decided to break loose.
Just as her hand raised to the doorknob, the little witch felt a fissure of power took her awareness and she hissed as it seemed to burn the very air they breathed. With head whipping towards the open doorway, she paled and felt her breath seize in her chest just before a loud yell bounced down the corridor.
“Simone Blair. I know you are here you stupid bitch. Come out come out where ever you are! Don’t make me kill anymore people.”
“OH GOD.... RYDER... HES HERE!” she panted, closing her eyes and trying to force her body to quit shaking. “He's found me...He knows I'm not dead....”
Then, stiffening her shoulders and digging down deep for the hunter she'd been raised to be, she glanced at her companion. A bank of shadows seemed to swirl in her blue eyes as they darkened and grew hard with determination.
“I don't suppose you have any handy weapons on you do you? I swear... this demon..He's faster than a bastard-maniac, more powerful than a loco-madman, He's Super Freddy! “ she quipped after one of the old horror movies they'd all watched a hundred times growing up. “I think I've had about enough of being his little victim... Its time to show him just who hes really messing with!”
Ok, yeah.. those were brave words seeing as she was having trouble even standing up straight but Damn.. There was only so much terror a person could feel before it started to numb the senses and make them wanna kick a little ass instead of being kicked.
Not to mention the fact that they were in a hospital full of civilian innocents that didn't need to die because some asshole hell spawn had a hard on for her blood. She simply COULDN”T let any more innocent people die.
Taking a deep breath, Simi looked around and then spied what looked to be a cross necklace laying on the bedside dresser. The woman in the bed was still asleep so she pointed at it and then meet Ryders eyes.
“He thinks I'm alone.... he doesn't know your here..... That might buy us some time.” she whispered, unsure of what she was really thinking but knowing they had mere seconds to come up with a plan. The thought occurred to her to tell him to make a run for it but Ryder would never leave without her. That was just the sort of man he was and Simi knew it would just be wasted breath to even think of suggesting it.
Besides, he'd probably spank her for even THINKING of suggesting it. Yeah... Probably better to keep her mouth shut on that one at the moment. They had bigger fish to fry after all.
“I have to go out...... Hes going to kill more people if I don't........ I'll try to draw his notice away from this room....That will give you a bit of time to come up with a plan and play super man.... If not... Get the hell out of here and tell my family I love them...”
Then, on impulse, she suddenly stood on tip toe and pressed a soft kiss on to his lips before smiling sheepishly, shrugging and slipping out the door. Hell, a girl had to have some nice send off to wash away the taint of ickyness, right? The last thing she wanted to remember was Gregg's kiss, that was for damned sure.
“Hey Gregg..... Fancy running into you here! Whats a matter? Can't seem to kill a simple little witch?” she called out in a mockingly sweet voice as she looked around and then headed in the direction she'd heard the screams. “Your really stupid for a demon... Just like I said before.... You must have slipped your leash for Lucifer to be allowing something at inept as you to wander the earth....”
Reaching the hall intersection, she glanced back over her shoulder at the room doorway before stepping around the corner and facing Gregg face on. The blood that covered him made her want to gag but she kept her voice cool and almost amused as she leveled him with hard eyes.
“Tsk, Tsk.... Really, demon.... All that flith.... You should really see about getting yourself cleaned up. You … Stink.....”
Please, god.. Let Ryder come up with a plan! she chanted over and over in her head as she waited for the explosion she was sure to come.
Ryder was physically shaking from the laughter that rumbled inside him, and he had to bite his clenched fist or risk waking the sleeping patient up. It was hard as hell to keep it in though, especially when said patient snored like a freight train, and farted even louder. When the large woman rolled over in the too-little hospital bed, the young Winchester held his breath, letting it out when she commenced the thunderous snoring. Dropping his hands to fold them across his chest, he merely smirked as Simi gave in and headed towards the bathroom. He felt the difference in her aura even before he heard the sound of malevolent taunting from outside the room. His head snapped to the door, and then back to the blond witch, who was wearing a look of terror on her angel face. That expression of horror shifted quickly to something else; something determined and fearless and Ryder shook his head when she asked if he had any weapons on him. “Nothing on me…they’re all out in the jeep.” He responded grimly, wishing he’d had the sense to at least grab a pistol before rushing in to be the hero. The hunter moved toward the side of the door, leaning out to steal a clandestine glance at the panic outside the room, and then back to Simone in time to see her snatch up a rosary from the patients beside table. His stormy blue eyes were narrowed in dispute, his head shaking from side to side even before she’d finished speaking. Oh hell no. If she thought he was going to let her go out there and face him alone she was more off her rocker than usual! Gently grasping her upper arm, Ryder pulled her forward, her chest meeting his. A charge of something potent rushed through him, and he shuddered, wondering if it was Simi’s magic, or merely something he’d been trying to push down since running into her at the garage. What ever it was shook him to the core, and he let go of her, penitent that he let himself get distracted, if only for a moment. “No, Simi…” he argued, even when he knew her plan was the best one that had at the moment. She was wrong about one thing though. There was no way in HELL he was going anywhere without her. The young Winchester was just about to tell her so when suddenly his words were cut off by her mouth against his. His body stiffened in surprise and the breath was stolen from him like she was a thief in the night. God, she tasted good. Something the likes of cotton candy on the back of his tongue. It was over before he knew it and suddenly she was gone, leaving him to stand there thunderstruck as the atmosphere around him crackled with white energy. He blinked, shaking his head to clear the baffling daze before jolting into action; grabbing up a bed pan that was set on a table near the bed and going the opposite way that Simi had. He’d paced the hospital wing a few times while the nurses had asked him for privacy with the patient, and so Ryder knew the floor was a big circle that would led him around behind Gregg. He also knew that the infirmary had a chapel on this floor as well and a plan started to form in the hunter’s mind. Sprinting quickly to the chapel, he found the fount of holy water the hospital priest used and filled up the yellow plastic pan as much as he could. It was hard to run without spilling the water, so Ryder had to settle for speed walking toward the sound of Simi’s voice; panic that she would be harmed before he could do anything making it harder than hell to keep the liquid in the container. Finally, he paused, his eyes widening at the sight of Simone standing fearlessly before the blood covered demon. For the second time in less than five minutes, the breath was stolen from him, and Ryder swallowed a thick lump in his throat before creeping silently towards the male. “Hey asshole!” He called out, and as soon as the demon turned toward him he flung the holy water in his face, bounding forward to drive a foot into the male’s chest.
He had yelled for Simi to come out, but he really didn’t think she would he had under estimate her there. He figured she would run off and pretend she wasn’t here and that she was the one who died, but nope it just showed how much she cared for these people. He had killed some people on the way up and had been covered in blood; he didn’t expect her to have help. He thought she was here alone who would come running to her so quickly. Yes, he was sure she had friends, but he tried to get away from them so she had no help at all so he thought she would be in this town defenseless so he really wasn’t expecting a counter attack. Simi had been mocking him at the other end of the hall.
‘Hey Gregg..... Fancy running into you here! What’s a matter? Can't seem to kill a simple little witch?’
He growled, at that. “Shut up! You are no simple little witch Simone. I thought that crash would have killed you, but I guess I am just going to have to rip your guts out myself, and mail them to your brother. This way I can mount your head on my walls.” He smirked at the idea of her pretty little head on; his walls like a deer would be on a normal hunter’s wall. She murmured something about Lucifer and a leash. “Pfffff.” he remarked, before listening to her ramble on.
“Tsk, Tsk.... Really, demon.... All that filth.... You should really see about getting yourself cleaned up. You … Stink…”
He rolled his eyes at her. “ I stink! Please you’re the one that smells Simone, you smell of goodness and purity it is sickening.” She was standing her ground he gave her that, but this was going to be the place where she died. He was going to shatter and break her and eat her heart for dinner. The infamous Simone Blair was going down, he had made a move to advance to her so he could then and there snap her neck, but before he got there. He heard a voice of someone else.
“ Hey Asshole!”
Gregg had turned around, to be faced with a man who threw holy water in his face, and it was burning liked acid rain, Gregg began to scream and double over in pain at the burning water eating at his face, next thing he knew he was being kicked in the chest, and slammed into the wall. He was gagging on the holy water and trying to spit it out murmuring the words of “ Bastard,” as he feel to the ground trying to recover from the holy water or well at least making them think he was still recovering, but he wasn’t “ Who the hell are you?” he spat not sure who was helping Simone out. Whoever it is just signed his death warrant. Gregg got up quickly, decked the fellow, and pinned him against the wall. “Who’s this your little bitch boy? Did you really think holy water would keep me down for long? You are so going to die.” He said getting in the mans face not really knowing he is one of the Winchester clan. He was surely buff, and could see why Simi had a thing for him if it was her boyfriend. Gregg surely would be getting a wake up call when he finds out he is a Winchester.
